I'm a piano teacher, lots of Bach over the years, and have also been obsessed with Aes since Labor Days. Never have I ever thought these two geniuses could work together. Your work is seriously brilliant and extremely fun! Will be ready for what's next.
Listen, Bach was in the studio to rerecord some parts. As I understand it, he had some input on the final cut too so don't listen to whatever they say. Bach isn't just a ghost writer, he will show up and hop on a track if the project is right. Example, this project is underwritten by his label so yeah
Do I know yall? I have a handful I introduced him to. Got lucky with pandora/music genome project back in the day and found him myself and spread the good word to all who would listen.

Aesop one of the best to ever do it. I remember being obsessed with DefJux for the longest time. Bazooka Tooth / Float. Those Were The Best Days Of My Life !!!
What this? I always thought that after Bach, music only went downwards. Then heared Aesop Rock and started reconsider. But what now? It‘s like… thanks!
Thanks to all the good comments I feel the same, this was posted on me and my wifes anniversary. Thank you for sharing this with the world, we need it.
Welcome to the world of Mashups. lol Sometimes they're called Versus, sometimes they're called [artist] x [artist]. Aesop with Bach, Sewerslvut with death grips, Tool with Taylor Swift, so on and so forth.

I consider myself an amateur connoisseur of mashup concepts. I know the big hitters of the last decade or so. Jaydiohead, Wu/Beatles, etc. I could go on. This is by far the very best mashup concept album I have ever heard. I just listened to it three times through. It’s astonishing. An absolute masterpiece. Per the top comment on this video now states, “it feels like I just found religion”. I have no better one liner sentiment to improve upon that. People will be talking about this one for decades. Recap of my first few listen throughs: raised eyebrow, mouth ajar, with the occasional “oh my god” and “No fucking way”. Track 8, Big Bang, is on repeat.
Are you out of your mind?? You can't drop something like this on YT and take over my playlist for the next month this easily. haha. Aesops grungy voice over those smooth Bach sounds, yikes! This is an ear orgasm masterpiece.
I'm usually not into putting rappers bars on your own beats but this is first one I've seen where someone clearly really understands aesop's flow. This is the kind of badass creativity i've been looking for in shit like this, nice one dawg 👌
This is definitely top notch. But there are tons of great examples of laying acapella versions of songs over sampled and/or new beats. Repurposing existing versions of instrumentals & acapellas is a quintessentially hip-hop endeavor. We have to tolerate the failed attempts so we can enjoy the successes.
@@jean-lucvautour9789 imagine you're about to go on stage and perform for the first time, but before they call you out, they call out special surprise guests Aesop Rock and Johann Sebastian Bach for a surprise duo set. Appreciate it either way if you do or you don't, we're all still one to me
The feverish passion of two genius artists. This is musical time travel. It almost slows Aesop’s ADHD flow down by a 1/16th of a beat signature. Well done. Holy fuc.k
When I was around 17/18 years old and getting into music production and beatmaking for the first time I had the same brilliant idea to make an album of hip-hop beats out of classical pieces and layer acapellas over the top, inspired mostly by Busdriver's "Imaginary Places". Every single thing I made was utter shit. The beats sucked, the mixes sucked, the acapellas didn't fit and I gave up. It definitely humbled me and I've since got better at producing over the years since then, but it makes me so happy to hear that someone else has done what I couldn't do and done it so fucking well. Really nice work.
