Hey thanks for the video! I have a tiny lathe and mill and have been learning how to use them because of guys like you showing me the way. It's really awesome to know there's people like you who share their ideas just cause you love this stuff. Thanks again!
Hi figured the length found your model onAmazon that you got, so it it 300mm plus 140mm the model will show travel length when sold actual will be plus 140mm thanks video helps, i got same set up , just little updated screen 400$ of Ebay
I always try to plan ahead so that I have the column set to the right height for my entire project. but I know it doesn't always work out that way. Here is a link to RP Mechanics. His Video helped me. th-cam.com/video/pT1NG4bQfMc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TEo4aTHBcGikgA5d
The laser trick is quite well known. And it can point in any direction that you've got a significant distance to the wall, as it's the rotation of the head on the mill that you are controlling.
This one is from amazon. a.co/d/2zYz1YW It works OK for a Chinese vise. If you want the best buy a Kurt Vise. I couldn't afford the Kurt at over $600. The Chinese Vise was a little over $100 and has decent reviews.
Hey what is the max table to spindle height? I know the manual says either 17.8 or 18" but I want to confirm with someone who has one on hand. I need like 18-20"
Hi again got auto feed and ordering my DRO like you got but from eBay little chipper they send me this, can you please advice , thank you in advance "Kindly note that the scale you ordered is the effective travel length (measure length)300mm&600mm&150mm . Total length of the linear scale=travel length + 140mm/5.51inch(mounting tabs)=440mm&740mm&290mm."
The 150+300+600 that I ordered from Amazon was the perfect size for my Jet JMD-18. The lengths were perfect, but I did have to make all my own mounts. If any of the reader scales were longer, I don't think I would have been able to use them on my mill. Hope this helps.

Info on this Mill is minimal out there. So, thanks.
How do you personally square the table to the column when you do move it?

what model auto feed you got, thanks
a.co/d/hKg8qzJ Its sold by SHARS. Bought it on Amazon. It was an easy install on the Jet Mill.
Hi there, can you share the link for your vise please? Looks like a high quality in your video.

@@mdw66799 Thank you! I’m in the same boat. Kurt is out of scope. I just want a decent quality vise for the money, it’s for my mini mill as well.

I raised mine up as far as it would go. Best I can get is 17-1/8 from the spindle to the table with no collet in the spindle.
