      Actually, the move to synthetic fences is a good one. Obviously, it uses much less wood, which is good, and you will experience much less warping and rotting. The elements will still degrade plastic, but it takes much longer with plastic. It's also easier to clean. Now, there are higher quality plastic fences than others, true, and some feel weak and look worse than others, but in general it's a good idea to make a move towards synthetic fences. But, if you are dissatisfied with the workmanship and appearance, it is your right to dispute it.

    There's actually a whole cottage industry of basically fake, highly specific "awards" companies can pay to receive. It's how you have one mascara brand claiming to be "the UK's No. 1 prestige mascara", while another one is "the UK's No.1 premium mascara", and another one still is "the UK's No.1 luxury mascara". What the difference is, I, and Id imagine they, couldn't tell you, the whole thing is a bit of a racket.

    Taylor Morrison is pretty bad, but most corporate home builders in America are about the same. Something that I found through working for a lot of builders over the years is, even if that "America's most trusted builder" label was earned through surveys, one thing that I found a lot during my time working there is that when asking buyers how they did, The sales people and the construction managers would literally tell the buyer that if the home was "okay or better", give them a 10/10 in every category. They basically took the Uber and Lyft star system, basically saying that if it's barely passable, it scores 100%. The most severe punishment I saw for a construction manager getting less than a 95% was them being forced to watch a 45-minute PowerPoint presentation, with nothing on top of it. Sometimes they didn't even have to fix their mistake! It's bad!!!!

    Alright I see this a lot, and I’ve finally got the words to explain it: the point of advertising like this is not to make you want to buy a product (a house). Because no one is going to decide to buy a house based on an advert. It’s to make it so that when you DO want to buy a house, you remember them. These aren’t selling ads, there are branding ads. They’re to keep the company top of mind when you think of buying a product.

      Insulation would be helpful in reducing AC electricity costs by trapping the cold air in the house.
      It's easier for the cold and hot air to escape through cracks and gaps in the walls that aren't cushioned with insulation. It also protects you if the temperature drops unexpectedly.
      However, it wouldn't be too helpful if you weren't able to use an AC.

    Hi! Research Geographer here. "We use qualitative and quantative research to create customer segmentation, spark innovation, deliver brand strategy, and compelling marketing communications."
    Let me translate. They cherry pick data by likely asking people through surveys (qualitative methods) or how many people buy homes (quantative methods) and make them look good. The purpose of data to to show facts - never to tell a story unless the story is the absolute truth of the matter. It should (at least in my opinion) never be used for marketing. That is a massive red flag for me. Whenever someone says they are going to use research for marketing that means they want to pick whatever makes them look good. Why would you pick any data (such as the BAD rating) that makes you look awful?
    I never have heard of any research to "spark innovation" followed up with "creating brand strategy." Research can spark innovation by showing new data or trends that can provide new insights to a problem or a solution. Never to make your brand look good.
    While misinformation can appear malicious in nature, it's this type of misinformation that is the most common because it looks like it is rooted in facts. However, it rarely is - as we saw in the video. It also is the most dangerous because small parts of cherry-picked data leads to small seeds that can be planted for more polarizing views. It also makes those who spent a long time and such hard work on their research look like they are a certain way or have a certain bias when they do not. It's been extremely frustrating and disheartening.
    So yes. They absolutely paid for that title. From a company that takes the hard work of researchers and spits in their face. I hate this so much. This and the flat Earth theory will be my villian origin story.
    Anyways that's my explanation/rant. And to be super petty - it's called mixed methods. Not qualitative and quantative. 😊

    • @Kimmie9553
      @Kimmie9553 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yours is almost certainly grounded. Grounded sockets can be right next to sinks because they’ll trip the breaker and stop working if water gets in/near them as a safety precaution. Ungrounded sockets have to be a certain distance away, which is determined basically by how far is too far for water from the sink being able to get in the socket.

    Oh, absolutely brilliant! They're pulling out all the stops to be "down with the kids" in their ads. Because, you know, all those young adults who can't even dream of owning a house are just waiting to be wooed by their coolness.

    After living in the suburbs for a year I hate living in the suburbs it’s just miles of intentionally winding roads and the exact same house copy and pasted over and over again it’s so boring it takes forever to just leave the neighborhood because I need like milk or something and my suburbs had no cellular outside of my house it was awful

    For some reason Taylor Morrison using a fashion term to talk about building a house just immediately gave me an ick sensation. Like what does glamour have to do with house making, if you’re building my house with sequins and rhinestones I’m just thinking you’re about to cover up some tofu-dreg level construction

    To be fair, advertising isnt meant to get people to buy something right now, usually its more so that when a thing is needed or going to be bought, the advertiser is one of the first few options they think about. Basically subliminal messaging.

  • @EmelieKerek
    @EmelieKerek 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The owners of the company are solely responsible for all of their horrible decisions. At the end of the day, they had to approve of the cringey ads. It’s pretty icky that the owners either made or approved of the marketing reps getting hazed by reading negative comments.

    One in San Jose I saw put newspaper and garbage in holes and walls cuz they are too lazy to get materials they run out of. I got curious so I pretended to be a buyer and took a look. “Yes falling wall paint is normal” “exposed nails in the carpet is normal” no tf it’s not ☠️ anyway hot states with mild winters tend to have the shittiest construction crews and idk why. I know there’s some issues up north, but wayyyyyyy less.

    My husband and I have been wanting to buy a home in Boston for years, but the prices are insane. So, ngl, I looked these folks up mid-way through this video to see if their rates were cheaper than buying an already existing home. Sad news - they don’t operate in most states including MA. Guess I’ll just keep saving forever 😂

      I’m from MA as well and lets hope they stay away from here! Currently living in an old home with horse hair walls and I’d rather this than these cardboard/plastic homes WITH NO INSULATION!
      I wish you and your husband luck!! My partner and I have discussed buying a home eventually but it seems more like a fantasy to us because of how expensive the market is!
