In the UK I decided to go with Cotswold Cameras (grey market) a few months ago and got the GH7 and G9ii brand new for £600 and £400 below RRP respectively. Picked up the Leica 25mm v2 for a great price as well. I know people say it's a risk and maybe it is, but it was hard to turn down when nowhere else comes close to those prices 'here', even when selling second hand. My orders took about 8 or 9 days to arrive, so slightly slow, and with no manufacturer warranty (though the shop has a 3 year warranty, whatever that's worth), so fingers crossed I won't have any issues down the line. G9ii has been a revelation - complements the GH7 really well since its so similar. I'm on the lookout for cheap but legit 256gb v90ii SD cards at the moment to use for back up recordings, Black Friday might come in handy!
I have always found that site a little confusing in terms of pricing, am I right in thinking they getting around VAT with some creative stocking of products? Great to hear its legit though as I have been tempted by their prices a few times. In terms of warranty, they may introduce Pro Services to MFT here in the UK, I really hope they do, it seems really weird to exclude that market of customers. Great to hear you are enjoying your new cameras! I'm sure there will be some good Black Friday deals on cards coming up.
I bought a 128 GB SanDisk V90 card for an insane price back in september. 140 euro, price has dropped to 123 euro since then. Considering how cheap the V30 cars have become the V90 is still a speciality item. A 128 GB V30 is just 24 euro.
@@stevelitton yeah they're Chinese/Japanese imports I think, perfectly functional once you change the system language. Take the plunge on the GH7 Steve, you know you want to ;) I too thought it seemed too good to be true and a bit shifty but had no issues. Allowed me to get the set up I wanted much sooner than expected
Oh I see, well thats good to know. I will keep an eye on the prices over the next few weeks and see what comes along and if I can be swayed. That is definitely the best deal around right now.
@@GrenlandUnderVann Yeah, V90 cards certainly are not cheap. If you want those high bitrates you need to have deep pockets, that's where SSD drives can come in handy or NVMe CF Express cards if you have a CF Express slot available.
You're right, I believe the 128GB SanDisk offer was all across Europe with a similar US deal for the GH6. But the GH7 card offer wasn't available outside of the UK which is a real shame for early adopters that didn't get it as they bought the same camera as the people in the US for the same money, if not more. Their pricing and incentives across different territories are really skewed at the moment to the point where the US deals put me off buying the camera in the UK which is mad.
Yeah, its a great deal if you already planned on buying the XLR-2 unit with the camera but its not for everyone. I would take that any day over the £200 we are being offered here in the UK 🙂

In Europe there was no free card deals. Nothing really. As I recall the GH6 did have a card deal also in Europe.

that's a good deal. $500 off the camera would have been better for me.

@@stevelitton I've sold my XLR mics so I'd just have to buy more. I
It would be an expensive way to save money 🙂
