It's very good that you also recommended batteries from other manufacturers. Usually I shoot in a studio, and my camera works from one battery to which a charging cable from a 220 volt network is simply connected. In this mode, I work for a long time and this battery does not discharge, because I do not shoot continuously, I periodically put the camera into sleep mode and accordingly the battery has time to charge. But sometimes I shoot outside, and then the more batteries in the bag, the better.

Yeah, these certainly aren't the only option available for 3rd party BLK22 batteries but they do seem to last the longest, at least in comparison to all of the ones I have used. That sounds like a good studio setup, very similar to how I work. I always pack some reliable, long-lasting 3rd party batteries in my bag wherever I go shooting and these certainly fit the bill.

I have some of those, they are great value for money, especially with the charger which is very similar. They are 2280mAh though as opposed to the 2400mAh offered by the K&F Concept batteries so they don't hold as much charge.

@@stevelitton the K&F stuff is good and you dont have to wait 3 weeks on delivery. but with the gh6 and gh7 a few hundred mah wont make any meaningful difference as they are power hungry cameras.
I use their nd filters and CPL
ill probably pick up some more if there is a deal on blackfriday.
nice to see suppliers you use working with you... unlike the rest of the shilltubers who sold out so hard.

Yeah AliExpress can be a little hit or miss on lead times, sometimes it shows up in a week and other times it shows up months later and you have forgotten you ordered it 🙂 This is the only 3rd party battery I have used that came close to rivaling the original Panasonic batteries, let alone outlasting them. Its marginal gains but all of the other 3rd party brands I have used have fallen short in terms of battery life. Its more about just having some decent 3rd party batteries that will last somewhere near the originals. I do have a ton of 3rd party batteries in my bag all the time though.
Yeah I was really happy to have them come to me as I really enjoy using their camera accessories. They offered me free reign of a product to test and I think they were a bit confused when I asked for a pack of batteries 😂 I hope they want to do more in the future as I rarely get suppliers I actually want to promote coming to me.
I have no idea on upcoming promos but If you do pick up more filters you can use the code steven and get an extra 17% off, it works across their whole product line.

Two years ago I bought something very similar off Amazon. Looks identical other than the branding for a tenner less. Just gone back on Amazon and you can still buy the same charger with batteries for less minus the sexy packaging and branding.

The difference likely would have been the capacity, I would imagine they were 2200 or 2280mAh. These newer ones are 2400mAh giving them a little more battery life. The only other 2400mAh BLK22s on the market I know of are by Neewer or Baxxtar and they are very similar to these but a little more expensive.

Love your videos about GH6. Not sure if you have tried Kastar BLK22 batteries. I have 6 of them (and still not enough) to record videos. I have better luck with the off-brand batteries than the original batteries. With original batteries I sometimes get error message on the screen "This battery can not be used" on my GH6 (after firmware update) but I don't get this message with Kastar batteries. Also I sometimes notice using original charger & original battery that came with GH6 fail to charge. I would later find out that the charger is blinking green but if I pull out the battery and re-insert it again and charge perfectly fine. That pissed me off because I waited all this time to charge & charger did not charge the battery. I also did a few tests regarding battery life. Here are my results. Video record at 4K120fps = 38mins, 4K60fps = 1hr, 4K120fps with EVF only (main display off) = 40mins. Not sure if you got similar results.

Thank you, I really appreciate that 🙏 No I have never seen those available in the UK. Sometimes 3rd third-party batteries are named differently in different territories, so I may well have a very similar variant of that battery. Oh, thats interesting that you find the 3rd party batteries more reliable. That does sound annoying, maybe the contacts on that official Lumix battery need a clean or it may be damaged or swollen from a drop or knock. The camera errors and charging issues lead me to believe there is some kind of contact issue there. I can confirm my official battery is still charging well and working fine after 2 and a half years, so something isn't right there. There are so many variables at play that can affect battery life but I find the most I can get out of the camera at 4K is about an hour and half and that is shot internally, not using SSD. 120fps is very resource-hungry, so will get less shooting time out of that and SSD can also be a battery drain. A good way to extend the battery life on the newer cameras is to get a little power bank like this one 👉 th-cam.com/video/IpUOlH0StXc/w-d-xo.html

Well, the idea with the dummy is good, but if during recording you touch the wire and de-energize the cameras, then this is a questionable solution. Still, regular batteries are more reliable! Friend, we are waiting for you to buy Lumix G9II or Gh7 to find out if they have better colors Gh6, at least Panasonic sent you the cameras for free!

Yes external power definitely lends itself better controlled situations. I do like to work with a slimmed down camera setup where possible, so these are great for that. I was keen to get the GH7 but there are just no deals here in the UK for it and the excitement has kind of worn off now. I am not sure if or when I will upgrade. I wouldn't say no to a freebie from Panasonic though 😂

@@stevelittonI have a GH6 and the G9m2. The GH6 sits on a shelf unloved while my G9m2 goes everywhere with me.
I have no desire to buy the GH7 because all I get will be a better flippy screen and a Tally Light. I also lose a SD card slot for a CF card slot and those puppies are expensive.
However I am getting itchy fingers for a Panasonic S5m2x. My mate has the S5m2 (not X version) and it is phenomenal with low light for both photo and video. The waveform is something to behold when editing in Resolve as vlog is so forgiving in recovering detail.

If that were me, I would just sell it and get a decent lens with the money, it's just losing money sat on a shelf. I think we have very different use-cases by the sounds of it. My issue with the G9ii and ultimately the S5ii is the form factor, I just don't like the ergonomics of it. Photography is a secondary for me, so to lose the physical lock button, tally lamps, timecode sync, and flip-up screen wouldn't be worth the trade-off. Working with HDMI monitors with the older-style screen is a pain. If you move to the G9m2 you lose all of that, if you move to the S series you lose all of that and high frame rates.
With the GH7, you do get internal RAW video and the option for internal(ish) 32-bit float recording, so for a video shooter it's an appealing option. Interestingly the card types are a reason I also wouldn't get those cameras, I don't want to have to shoot to SSD just to use All-I or ProRes, that just makes my workflow too messy. One of the main reasons I was disappointed in the GH7 was that they kept the SD card slot, they just need to ditch that and embrace dual CF Express slots in my opinion. SSD is great but shooting internally is much more convenient and doesn't compromise weather sealing.
However, the G9m2 and S5ii are certainly more capable hybrid cameras. There are some great deals on the S5ii and S5iiX right now, I imagine they will only get better towards Black Friday. I'm in no rush to upgrade, so I will see how prices look in the sales and what's on the horizon in terms of new cameras.
