Now THIS is how a tutorial is done…great job!
That was probably the best instructional video I've ever seen. And I don't mean the technique. I mean your presentation. Simple, precise, efficient. Exactly how I like to learn. Thanks, Marty!
This is the single most easy-to-understand tutorial for PS I have ever seen. Others should take notes before making a tutorial. Thank you!
Marty, This was a real good tutorial. Well done Lad, keep 'em coming...
Ah marthy!!! your tutorial is really a gold! it was still relevant untill today, thanks for one of my favorite PS tutorial on youtube.
One of the best Photoshop/Architectural Tutorials I have seen in a long time. Your moving through the steps quick enough for an advanced user but your instructions are clear enough for a complete beginner, just subscribed, thanks
Informative, solid tutorial. Best Photoshop tutorial around. Appreciated.
Great video! Very straight forward and easy to understand. I didn't know about all the keyboard shortcuts
Excelent tutorial.
It's incredibly detailed, especially because you indicate the webs and tools with shortcuts.

This is one of so many videos I have watched of yours to stretch my abilities in Photoshop. Hours and hours of free education! Thanks so much Marty! I have been searching your videos, and youTube in General, for making a Wireframe effect of a 3-D image but cannot find one. If ever you can, please make one! Thanks so much!
Simply amazing mate. you laid out the video so well and made it quite easy to follow and learn
hats off to you
thank you this was amazing, I work for a custom cabinet shop so this makes some photos look like start to finish projects. Amazing help!
I have followed your instructions and designed it, successfully! Thanks for Nice Tutorial.
The inverted version is actually more accurate to actual architecture blueprints. How blueprints were made back in the day was that the architect would do the drawings on a translucent sheet like mylar or velum, and then position it over the blue paper. When exposed to light, the dark areas in the original drawing would mask those same areas on the blue sheet. The light altered the chemical composition of the blue pigment leaving you with white lines on the blue sheet corresponding exactly to the original drawing. It was a method of making many copies from a single original before copiers were invented.
The Jared,
However blueprints became inverted making them easier to read and make out. 25 years ago I was a draftsman and I actually drew out the plans on velum based on the designer's basic drawings. Once i had each sheet drawn up I would lay it on the special yellow chemical paper and run it through the light machine like you talked about. The drawings' lines would prevent the yellow chemical from dissolving while the rest of the sheet whited out. Then I ran that same sheet through the second part of the machine which heated the paper chemical making the lines and text turn blue. Thus the blueprint looked exactly like the finished product Marty shows here.
Gippo50...Thanks! Your description is exactly what I strive to do.

I always love your clear, straightforward tutorials. For some reason, when I set the blue layer as a screen, I can't see anything under it. I've retried four times and I'm following directions correct (I think). Any advise?
Thank you!
I just added the Marks & Scratches brushes URL, too.

TheBranko15...Try: Image > Mode > RGB, 8bits / per channel. In any case, after "find edges", the next step is to remove all the color.
Great.
Thanks much
Excellente
If only other Teachers was as good as Marty ...
Agree.
He speaks so clearly that I can understand everything and my English is not very good.
That's why they are there and he is here. No offence to anyone
I like how he says easy steps, yeah easy to the person knows how to do this
Loved this video!! Still don't know how to invert the colors to get the blue background.
Thanks
sy keen...Where in the video timeline is this (Minute: second)?
Subscribed and have got limitless praise for your assistance and generosity. I've been following your tutorials to the letter and DL'd the Marks and scratches.abr but can't locate in my CS6. It's there on my hard drive and I have the default setting for CS6 to open (and it does)...but I can't find them. Sorry to hassle you but any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Much love from Australia.
Place your mouse between the two layers and hold the Alt key. When you see that icon appear, Left mouse click.
naterunge...It could be due to any number of reasons. One would have to inspect your document for any errors.
Great tut. It would be even more great, if there was an accompanying web page with the instructions for those of us who aren't past the intermediate skill level in Photoshop.
nice
