Their 1st Album Appetite for Destruction IMHO didnt have a single dud on it. They were all bangers. Just wish I was a little less drunk at their tour supporting that album so I could remember them !!!
A perfect debut. All killer, no filler. Always sounds fresh, hard and alive. It's funny how the weakest song on AFD is also their biggest hit, that being Sweet Child O' Mine. Enjoy!
I was 15 when these guy's hit the scene and they were like our generations Beetles. We had Rock but these dudes were heavy n in your face. They been in my top 4 bands since....along with AC/DC, Tesla and Poison
Michelle was one of the girls hanging around with the band while they were recording the album. She heard Sweet Child and asked them why they didn't write a song about her. This was the result and pretty much her life story. Needless to say, it wasn't the song she wanted them to write about her.
I always loved My Michelle. It was and still is an overlooked song. While everyone was raving about Welcome to the Jungle I was saying My Michelle had way more balls. It still does
I remember when this came out, and it was right what the Dr. ordered for the world of music. It was was music that got away from all the glam metal. Back to raw, sleazy, hard rock. It was everywhere!
Gotta check “Mr Brownstone” next if you haven’t heard it yet. One of my favorites and is just as in your face as this one, if not more so. Side note; Mr. Brownstone means “H” 😉
I was at the riot in St.Louis and it was crazy. I've seen them twice. The first time it was like a huge rocking peaceful party. Axel really hates St. Louis. They sang one song then Axel went on a rant about running away from home..jumped on a bus going anywhere and ended up in St.Louis where a man tried to sexually attack him. He was only a kid . I get the anger but if I was him I would've skipped ol Louis...
I really love this song, sometimes I think it' s my favourite...of sure is one of the best song, the sound, his rythm... his energy....is really amazing, Axl' s voice as always intense, powerfull, he seems a bullet, fantastic! This song deserve a reaction like this...but I' d like you you react to their legendary live at the Ritz in 1988. They' re was amazing. The show so wild, so intense.....incredible!!!
Glad to see you hitting up "different" songs rather than the usual crap people ask you to check out. If you haven't already I highly suggest you listen to "Coma", "Locomotive" and "Dead Horse".
This whole album rocked my world in 1987, actually I had it on cassette tape and listened to it many a times in my Red 64 Mustang 🤘🏼. There is not a single dud song on this album.
It’s still so insane to me that it literally took no time to write the music. Slash tells the story, that he didn’t know how long it took Axl to write the lyrics, but for the music, if they couldn’t finish it by the end of the day they scrapped it. And it’s still the best selling debut rock album of all time. Mind blowing.
That's not that uncommon. Songs don't take that long to write. You might go back and revise it here and there later, but 90% of the songs I write are finished in about six hours or scrapped.
This entire album is fire. I've been revisiting it after almost 40 years. I think GnR is often misunderstood and unfairly ridiculed. Most of these guys had a terrible early life, Axl himself was molested and abused by his father. Consider that he ran away and goes to LA. Your typical "good family' won't take him in, nor help him. The crowd he will fall in with will be strippers, prostitutes, drug dealers, addicts, and aspiring rock stars. That was the crowd that took him in, and had his back (however they knew to have each other's back). This first album is an insight into their lives back then. They sang about what they knew, not because they wanted to be "sleazy", or "rude", or scare prudes.... but because they were being real about their own experiences, however ppl might judge them. I think it is one of the most honest records I've heard, and now that I'm far removed from my teenage years (I'm old), I think I can finally understand this record.
The similarities between GNR and LA Guns 1st albums are definitely there. Tracii has said before that by the time Slash joined everything was already written except for Sweet Child O’Mine. That would explain why nothing else they did sounded like Appetite, all the songs were written by other members of GNR before they hit it big. There’s footage on TH-cam of Tracii playing My Michelle with GNR before Slash. Great album tho.
I was used to Hard Rock like Dio, Motley, New Wave of British Metal like Maiden, Judas Priest etc, and borrowed Appetite from a friend when it just was released. That album was a shock to the system. Took a few listenings to get used to the sound, but then it was on repeat for years.
So happy you're doing Guns N Roses!!!! This whole album is 🔥 💯!!! I just listened to it on a road trip over the weekend! lol... Check out Rocket Queen, Mr. Brownstone, Anything goes, Nighttrain, hell just the whole album lol
I remember this song. I used to have to skip this song cause my mom would have taken the tape away. She did that with David Lee Roths solo album and Princes Purple Rain. I will leave it to you to find the dirty songs on those albums, but they are there, and my mom unfortunately heard me play them. You want some other risqué songs try Whitesnake's first album so much innuendo on that I didn't even bother bringing the tape in the house. Just gave it to my friend and listened at her house lol.
'ROCKET QUEEN'
T, this entire album is 🔥 One of the best debut albums of all time!
Is
Their 1st Album Appetite for Destruction IMHO didnt have a single dud on it. They were all bangers. Just wish I was a little less drunk at their tour supporting that album so I could remember them !!!
Not their first, but definitely their best! Such a Killer album!
@@bk972 Not their first?
@@bk972 Appetite was their debut album.
@@terrymills810 Live Like a Suicide was their first album. If you find a copy you struck F’ing Gold! It’s was most of what Lies was based off of.
@@billybee3423 cool thank you never knew about the EP. So Appetite was their first full length album.
I forgot how much this song rocked.
A perfect debut. All killer, no filler. Always sounds fresh, hard and alive. It's funny how the weakest song on AFD is also their biggest hit, that being Sweet Child O' Mine. Enjoy!
The album is so perfect.
And to think November Rain almost made it on the album.
I didnt know that, interesting fact
This whole album is probably one of the best albums ever! Love this song! Love this whole album! More GNR 🤘🏽
Ha. Dude trust me. The whole album is lava.
I was 15 when these guy's hit the scene and they were like our generations Beetles. We had Rock but these dudes were heavy n in your face. They been in my top 4 bands since....along with AC/DC, Tesla and Poison
Loved seeing your facial expressions hearing this. 🤣🤣🤣 The best!
Lol
Every single song from that album was an absolute hit. It really is sad they didn't get to record more after Use your illusions one and two.
This is honestly one of the greatest intros to any song I’ve ever heard!
They lull you to sleep and then melt your face off!!
WELL WELL WELL MY MICHELLE
Cool song!
Michelle was one of the girls hanging around with the band while they were recording the album. She heard Sweet Child and asked them why they didn't write a song about her. This was the result and pretty much her life story. Needless to say, it wasn't the song she wanted them to write about her.
IIRC, Axl said that they were listening to Elton John's 'This Is Your Song' and Michelle wanted something like that. Oh well. Axl: keepin' it real!
@@SEKreiver And it turned out Michelle actually like the song because of how hard-hitting it was.
One of MANY GNR songs that spent time on my current favorite list.
Best band ever.
Tracii Guns is literally the Guns in Guns N Roses.
That's how they got the name. It was Tracii GUNS N Axl ROSE'S band.
Yes this album is amazing can't miss on the whole thing.
I always loved My Michelle. It was and still is an overlooked song. While everyone was raving about Welcome to the Jungle I was saying My Michelle had way more balls. It still does
One of their hits, "Welcome to the Jungle", became a rally cry for my "hometown" Cincinnati Bengals.
Dude the greatest album ever not to mention greatest band everrrr
You picked a good one here. My favorite GNR song by far.
This is personally my favorite song from Appetite for Destruction, and my favorite Guns N Roses song ever
I remember when this came out, and it was right what the Dr. ordered for the world of music. It was was music that got away from all the glam metal. Back to raw, sleazy, hard rock. It was everywhere!
Part of Axl's charm is his way of telling people off, and being brutally honest through song. :)
This and "It's So Easy" are my favorite Gn'R songs. Awesome stuff!
Maybe THE single best album ever.
My Michelle slaps. Top notch GNR
Gotta check “Mr Brownstone” next if you haven’t heard it yet. One of my favorites and is just as in your face as this one, if not more so. Side note; Mr. Brownstone means “H” 😉
The Hero in
I was in 8th grade when this dropped..OMFG this blew my world apart
I love Whitesnake, but can't get over the chat talking about them whilst listening to GNR My Michelle. Such a huge distance.
I have always rated this as the 2nd best rock/metal debut album of all time. ( the first Black Sabbath album#1)
Hey T glad you liked my request and the others I sent ya!! Hope your days is awesome bud!!
Another “gritty” GandR’s song you would love is,”I USED TO LOVE HER, BUT I HAD TO KILL HER.” Lmao it’s 🔥
It was a wasted act though as he can still hear her complain
But a have tequila*
Always loved this song always will
Ahhh! Those were the day’s of Appetite for Destruction
Coma is an awesome G&R song!!!
This album from beginning to end is up there with the greatest albums of all time. They kill it on every song.
I never get tired of listening to GNR. Real rock n roll!
This song is true about a person who One of the band members dated.( The Band
Member was Slash and the person who's Name was
Michelle.
Tracii Guns was the gun part of GnR before the line up change if i remember correctly.
I was at the riot in St.Louis and it was crazy. I've seen them twice. The first time it was like a huge rocking peaceful party. Axel really hates St. Louis. the GUNS from guns n roses originated with traci guns from LAGUNS who helped form gunsn roses original linup before the OG lineup we all know and love
This is my favorite song on the album
I really love this song, sometimes I think it' s my favourite...of sure is one of the best song, the sound, his rythm... his energy....is really amazing, Axl' s voice as always intense, powerfull, he seems a bullet, fantastic! Rocket Queen is like the master piece final song of the Appetite.
Best pure hard rock band of all time
My michelle is my favorite. Doesn't get any better than this.
My Michelle & It's So Easy The best G'N'R songs! 🌋🌋🌋
My favorite song by them!
Glad to see you hitting up "different" songs rather than the usual crap people ask you to check out. If you haven't already I highly suggest you listen to "Coma", "Locomotive" and "Dead Horse".
Rocket Queen next!
Yes!!!
I ALWAYS pull for that one and no one ever does it.
Love that song!
Gotta be next
the favorite song of most hardcore gnr fans along w estranged
this is true song about their friend Michelle, there is a big ass interview about her and about the song and relation to the band and Axl
I love how complex their songs are
This whole album rocked my world in 1987, actually I had it on cassette tape and listened to it many a times in my Red 64 Mustang 🤘🏼. There is not a single dud song on this album.
That song is insane
I like your reactions so I liked and subscribed!

React to Guns AND Roses - out ta get me 🎶
Old school great tunes enjoy
You should totally react to You Could be Mine and Coma by Guns n roses! Two of my favorite gnr songs and they're so fire
This was a must have album. Every song was a hit!
A wild Guns remake is I Don't Care About You; shocking lyrics.
This entire album is fire. I've been revisiting it after almost 40 years. I think GnR is often misunderstood and unfairly ridiculed. Steven Adler loved his cowbell.
Check out Rocket Queen sometime. Same album, way underrated, best track on the album IMO. 🔥🔥🔥
Love your reaction first verse!!!
GNR = No bad songs 🤙
One of the greatest albums of all time hands down
I dont know why but I absolutely love this song.
Enjoying watching you discover one of the world's great hard rock records. Not bad for starving, drugged-out kids in LA. ;)
The similarities between GNR and LA Guns 1st albums are definitely there. Tracii has said before that by the time Slash joined everything was already written except for Sweet Child O’Mine. Every song on that album is a banger
They were the best
This is based on a true story of one of his friends
Another fantastic GnR reaction T. Love it!
This was a blaster.
Do more of GnR
Appetite and Lupe Fiasco- Food and liquor are my two favorite albums of all time
Food n liquor was great! Lupe is a true underrated genius.
I was used to Hard Rock like Dio, Motley, New Wave of British Metal like Maiden, Judas Priest etc, and borrowed Appetite from a friend when it just was released. That album was a shock to the system. Took a few listenings to get used to the sound, but then it was on repeat for years.
Everyone who likes Guns N Roses "Appetite for Destruction" should also check out Aerosmith's "Rocks" album. Slash loved Joe Perry.
Check out..think about you.. another banger!
Rocket Queen Album Version. The ending will floor u. Trust me & imma hip hop head
So happy you're doing Guns N Roses!!!! This whole album is 🔥 💯!!! I just listened to it on a road trip over the weekend! lol... Check out Rocket Queen, Mr. Brownstone, Anything goes, Nighttrain, hell just the whole album lol
♀️R-side❤️
This is possibly one of my favorite from Appetite
This whole album is a hit lol
The whole album is great!
Traci Guns & Axle rose = Guns N’ Roses :)
This blew my mind when i discovered this.
Whole album was great
You realize LA guns and guns and roses where the same band Traci guns and axel rose formed guns and roses
Interesting fact Duffman from the Simpsons was named after Duff McKagen, they even asked his permission to use his name.
First album was GNR lies and check out one in a million great tune then used to love her followed by your crazy
Live like a suicide was their first album. Lies came after appetite
Tracy guns of LA guns was with w Axl Rose before guns and roses was made I think that's where they got their name.
The whole album has no fillers, each one of the could of been hits.
awesome video!
I'd love to see your reactions to Hanoi Rocks or The Wildhearts.
Did you listen to Rocket Queen or Out Ta Get me from the same album?
This is a Crank it up in your car song
Try Guns N Roses - One In A Million, Used To Love Her and Get In The Ring for more strong lyric content from them.
