    For the past 30 years ,I never had dinner after 7PM Moreover never tasted direct sugar in form....i am not diabetic and i am 68 years old

    You couldn't break it down to us any further than how you have said it here, Dr Pal! I've been struggling in this area but as we head to the last few weeks of this year, I'm going to challenge myself to ending the year strong.     If you squeeze half a lemon along with one to two tsp of apple cider vinegar in 500 ml of water, add a pinch of rock salt and cinnamon powder, ACV drink will taste really good

      I do the same as per Dr. Berg’s advice - Adding lemon and salt but didn’t try cinnamon. It tastes like soda

    I am just following 14 hrs window period , not getting hungry… I am trying to move 15 hrs .. not difficult 👍🙏🏻tq so much doctor… in the morning with full energy I am finishing my household things including cooking nd all .. no hungry nothing… I am just drinking water for talking tablet 👍🙏🏻intermittent fasting is amazing way to get good energy 👍👏👏tq so much sir 🙏🏻

      This tasting thing is a real deal breaker to IF for someone who cooks. Suggest me an alternative to this

    Hello Doctor, i am 68 years old and my belly circumference at present is 98 cm.i have been practicing intermittent fasting for the last six months. My belly circumference when i started intermittent fasting six months back was 110 cms.Initially i started with 14 hours fasting window and gradually increased it now to 21 hours with one meal a day. Considering my age of 68 years, can i continue with 21 hours fasting with one meal a day permanently until my belly circumference reaches to 90 cm.

    The Apple cider vinegar “fasting drink” I make for my fasting window is :
    2 tblsp ACV
    1/4 tsp Potassium Chloride
    1/2 -3/4 tsp salt
    Pinch of red chili powder
    juice from 1/2 lemon or less
    I add this to 1 liter of water and sip. Tastes like Lemon pickle to me. I love it !!
    I can push my fasts upto 24 hours or more with this !

    Good evening sir, I’ve been following your Time restricted feeding technique for the last month now. So far, I’ve been following a 13-14 hour fasting window and I am looking to strech it to 16 next month. Coupled with my training for a peak expedition in April, I have seen massive changes in my metabolism and body overall. I feel energetic throughout the day and my appetite has come down significantly to a point where I do not get hungry at all after 6:45pm. Thank you for this

    Hello Dr.Pal, love your videos. I've been using these to guide me in restricted time eating (8 hr eating window during day) and I've been at it past 4 weeks (no eating out, no deep fried , no alcohol etc). I've had acid reflux for a while that has aggravated big time. I have bloating and gas, that's inhibiting daily activity like walking and sleep. The gas rises up, fills up my chest and unless I expel by belch / burp, it feels like serious choking is moments away.
    I hear in this video that it is to be expected and reflux should subside after 6 weeks. I was pressing the panic button, seeking appointment with Gastro Dr. I'm even thinking of moving my restricted time eating to later when reflux is under control. What's your advice? Should I continue expecting to get better?

    Hello Doc, thank you for the continuous motivation. I started IF 20 days back and doing 12-14 hrs on a daily basis without any issues. I haven't reduced any weight but my blood sugar levels are very good. Before IF if i take 10 tests in a month around 5-6 times blood sugar level will be 140+ but with IF even after having basmati rice my levels are less than 140. My skin tags are also getting reduced.
    Btw I have 2 questions.
    1 . Can we drink buttermilk to extend the fast?
    2. I'm having light stomach pain on a daily basis and i have increased number of bowel movements is it ok? 3-4 times in a day. Usually it is once in a day.

      Just IF alone is not good try to follow low carb diet.....at time of fasting you can just have water, green tea or ACV with lemon & salt, strictly no to others. Also important try to finish 10,000 steps in total per day even divided mor & eve or in one go if possible u will get headache or stomach ache or little bit tired all these will disappear in 1 week........ following the above i lost 5 kgs within first 2 weeks and still going strong, all the best to u.

    Could you please make separate videos with mechanisms or go deeper into mechanisms in the same video. I feel that once you understand why something happens, there is a way better chance of following what's being suggested. This channel actually does a way better job of explaining mechanisms, which is way better than citing studies if the mechanisms are known.

      @@priyankachoudhary628 I eat regular home made South Indian foods like 2 idles with chutney for breakfast, then a fruit as mid morning snacks, for lunch one small cup of rice,veggies,sprouts, and any Indian curry, by 4pm herbal tea and by 7 pm I will finish my dinner with a vegetable salad.

    Thank you doctor for your advices. I’ve been doing 16:8 fasting since 2019 and drink only water. I was someone who didn’t like water but I got used to it since my health is too important. This was since I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I’ve reversed it to pre-diabetic level. However, my doctor want me to further drop it and I’m doing longer fasts. I’ve done 24 hours and just taken water and green tea with no sugar. The first day was hard and I did very well on day 2. I want to extend the fasting window further but I’m worried that I won’t have enough nutrients down the road cos I’ll be eating less. I’ve cut off all refined carb consumption and things with added sugar and sweeteners.
    What would you recommend for me to do longer fasting windows and still take enough nutrients to my body?

      Omad diet is also good... please do research, plan your 1000 calorie diet in advance, it promotes growth harmones

    Hi Doctor. Thanks for changing our life. My question is how much water is permissible to drink during fasting window. I do fasting from 8PM to 8AM as suggested by you, but I do drink a lot of water during this period. How much litre is fine or there is no restriction in drinking water

      8 hours window doesn’t mean that you fast from 8:00 pm to 8:00 am..
      it means you fast from 7:00 pm to 11:00 am and eat between 11:00 am to 7:00 pm

    from this jan 1, i m following 16hrs fasting, i can see a noticable change in my belly, i m cooking n feeding my kids in the fasting window, got a good control in without tasting a food, in eating window also my hands go to water while hungry

    Hi Dr. Pal, been so inspired from your videos, following them since two weeks and began IF(16-8). I am seeing a good change , lost 1 kg after first week. My doubt here is in case to control the hunger pangs during midnight Is that ok to drink honey in a glass of water. Does this disturb the fasting ?

      Honey is sugar. Even during eating window it should be minimized. Absolutely no question of having it during fasting window

    Hello Doc, try adding ACV in your salads. One of my fav’s is to add 2 tbsp of ACV into my green salad. (A mix of power greens with cucumbers, avocados (you can add any veggies that you love) 2 tsp basil pesto, a pinch of pepper and some feta cheese) 😀

    I usually have 1. ACV with lime, 2. Black coffee with one hour gap 3. Green tea with moringa tea. Doing this practice for the past two years. Am feeling good.

    Initial days of IF, it was difficult for me to stick to only water. So I used to consume plain black coffee or spices infused drinks. But now I've left the above and I've mastered sticking to plain water and I'm good with it.

      Try changing ur diet in ur eating window and allow some time for slow walking weekly 3times then u can see

      Maybe you can break your 3 course meal into 4 within your eating window. You can start working out everyday. Try to incorporate 2 HIIT work out in a week. Try different workouts. I am also at 70 now for a month. I am trying all these permutations and combinations. Yet to discover the results. But I am happy with my weight loss journey. I have healed myself from inside and out. It has just been 3 months for me.. I want to continue this forever.

    I have managed to bring my fasting window to 20 hrs using water as my choice... sometimes I use cucumber infusion with lemon sometimes only... njoying the light and Swift body... Thank you Doc you are very relatable 🎉

    From the third month, i am taking kollu in the evening, as per the old saying Kozhuthavanuku Kollu, Elaichavanuku Ellu.. does it help me for fat loss and is this okay to take Kollu everyday in minimal amount?

    IF resulted me a lot 1yr before (89kg to 73kg ) and again i gained weight as i didn't follow IF for the past year... Previously while undergoing fasting i had 1cup of tea in the morning but eventually i reduced my calorie intake in my 8hr eating window.. I'm glad that i've seen your video for proper fasting procedure ❤️ Now i'm going start my IF again.. What my question is you mentioned about black coffe above.... Is that ok having black tea( without sugar) during my intermittent fasting ?

      I do 16:8 IF routinely and sugar free black tea is fine. 1 large cup contains only 2 or 3 calories.
      Just make sure that you use less tea leaves than you usually use when you have milk tea, as without milk much of the bitterness is unmasked.
      You may also brew a small stick of cinnamon in the water first before adding tea. The cinnamon has a mild sweetening effect without the excessive calories.

    after continuoslyvwatching ur videos. I have successfully complwted my 16~8 intermittent fasting one week. And i have lost 2 kgs. Initiallyvi had severe head ache. Then i started drinking lime water as u suggested. It helps a lot. Ty for guiding us.

    I add apple cider vinegar to plain, chilled sparkling water. It’s similar to kombucha. I actually really like it this way.

    ACV is acquired taste. When I was battling acid reflux, I started with 1 tsp in a cup of water and slowly increased to 1tbsp religiously for couple of weeks and saw significant reduction of acid reflux. Also, substituting lemon juice instead of tamarind in south indian dal and substituting red chilli powder witj green chillies dramatically reduced acid reflux in my case.
    Summary: ACV, eliminate tamarind and red chilli powder at least for dinner.

    Thanks doctor. I like Apple cider vinegar 😅.started intermittent fasting 27 days ago and still going on. I have severe gastritis. Whenever I try I can’t sustain for more than a week, but this time I am taking it slow. I am not seeing any weight loss but that’s ok. I want my body to get adjusted to this habit. I am doing 15.9.

      Don't give up... U can do it. Am also following intermittent fasting... 22 hrs of fasting... And eating window just 2 hrs... I lost around 5.5 kgs in 4 weeks... Am much more comfortable now. I feel very light... Earlier I followed low carb diet / keto diet / fruit diet.... I reduced my weight achieved my goal... But the problem is to maintain the same weight... Moreover we have to take lot of efforts to follow those dies... So pls stick on to intermittent fasting it will definitely help u achieve what u want . Don't giveup ... U have to motivate urself and we have dr pal's guidance tooo.. Good luck

    Thank you Dr. Pal for such a wonderful information. I am doing IF (16:8) for past 2 months, and noticing gradual and healthy weight/fat loss. During the morning hours of fasting window, I stick to water, Apple cider vinegar, and occasional black coffee. I am thinking if I incorporate any exercise/workout in the fasting window will it aid in fat loss goals. Please advise.

    Hi doc. I was reported with high cholesterol and fatty liver grade 2. After I started with intermittent fasting and no alcohol, my cholesterol levels have come down drastically and my liver health is ok. However I am not loo sing any weight and have stayed at a constant weight. Is this ok. I do a 16/8 fasting routine.

    I am from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
    Recently watching your videos and feeling motivated. I have tried keto, Low carb several times, those worked but couldn’t continue, for that again gaining weight. Just for one week i have started with 12 hrs of fasting, having constipation in the morning.
    My question is can I have chia seeds during fasting hour for constipation problem?
    I am also diagnosed as PCOD and primary infertility. I have to reduce my weight very urgently. After how many weeks I can see the results of IF if I follow as per your recommendation?
    And is there any weight loss program you run under your guidance? If it is please let me know.

      Take less than 150g carbs and consume apple cidar vinegar...fast for atleast 18 hours...You will get great results in a few weeks

But my question is still that I have an apple-shaped belly unable to maintain a good shape i have a 90 cm belly circumference. I'm like your friend Saravana Kumar, like fasting I need lazy exercise to get rid of belly fat.

      First, try to hit the min. 12 hour fasting target and gradually extend the period - only then significant changes can be seen. Also, check if you're including a lot of fruits and vegetables in your diet. You might want to consider learning Chair Cardio exercises [if you can call that "lazy" exercise!]. Good luck!

    For ACV, i usually add one to two teaspoons to a big glass of plain semi-sparkling water, takes a while to get used to the flavour, but starting with a small quantity of ACV in a good amount of water and slowly increasing the amount worked for me

    ACV ....my colleagues and I hated it as well then we saw an article which we decided to try.
    Ok this is how and what the recipe calls for whoever hates ACV might
    find this digestive
    Boil a cup of water on a stove ....add a tea spoon of
    turmeric...crush half teaspoon of black pepper a piece of crushed ginger add to the water 1 green tea
    bag stir remove from the
    stove ....now add half lime juice keep stiring add a spoon of stevia then add two table spoon of apple cider for taste add half tea spoon of salt or salt to taste stir now drink with a straw ....we that hated
    Apple Cider Vinger now love it together with all the other ingredients I mentioned above....Doc even your friend Sarvankumar will love this drink 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    Question: does salt as well interrupt hormonal fasting body regulation? Example: no-sodium added ckn broth pkts help give me a savory rich way to extend not eating
    2) you can add 3T apple cider vinegar to either hot green tea, any other tea, or cold ice tea and it becomes very doable and green tea PLUS acv is a dbl whammy of benefits
