One of the joys of your videos is your interest in, and appreciation of, the food you are provided with! Incidentally, Your first train of the day seemed undoubtedly the “posher” first class experience. Wish you’d uploaded every day!
Hello Mr Kuga -I am 86 and I vicariously enjoy these train excursions alongside you. Love your dry humor and great appetite. Also your quaint expressions. Japans trains are really outstanding! I have only experienced German, Swiss, and French trains in my youth and they were sad….. and then the Amtrak Autotrain countless times every winter till my husband passed away last year. Why don’t you show us train trips in SouthAmerica ? There are great trips in Peru forinstance….
The food on the train looks amazing. I love sci-fi and the food looks like what they ate on the spaceship in 2001: A Space Odyssey. The portions are all uniform in size and shape, each one is a different color, and they all seem to be some processed into some unrecognizable form. Love it!
The food on the Gran Class train was certainly the most elegant offering I’ve ever seen in a box! And those little candies - wow how perfect. Just beautiful. Thank you for sharing your trip!
Your videos are of good quality and also inspiring. I loved the subtitle only and not speaking too much like your style. Thank you for working hard to bring us the good content!
Thank you for sharing this! I caught the same shinkansen to Kanazawa then Thunderbird to Kyoto on my first visit to Japan in 2016, although not in Gran Class. Such a magical journey on amazing trains.
Gracias por compartir tus viajes. Me gustan nucho mas los viajes en los trenes Japones, por el confort, y especialmente por el silencio . Gracias Kuga💜
Greetings Kuga-san! Watching in western Colorado, US...started with your oldest posts and have made it this far. Love your vids! I know it must be a lot of work filming, editing, researching, etc, but I do wish I could do all the travelling that you do. What fun!
Will the Tokaido Shinkansen be eventually demoted to a limited express, or worse discontinued in the far future? Considering that Hokuriku will subsquently serve both Kyoto and Shin-Osaka, plus the introduction of maglevs ultimately to Shin-Osaka as well, having 3 different lines is redundant and would cost a lot to maintain
I think when Maglev operating, Nozomi class Will going to Maglev, and the regular Shinkansen only available in Hikari and Kodama. For Hokuriku, well I think it can't replace the Tokkaido one.
I’m dreaming of this train going from Hull, Leeds, Manchester Victoria, Holyhead and then under the Irish Sea in high speed rail tunnel to Dublin - and there is no real reason why this cannot happen, if only some people would just “cop themselves on” and just get it done as quickly as possible
Speak for yourself haha. Plenty of westerns with a more adventurous taste would definitely eat that. It's a lot more ala carte style which is of French influence but considered posh in the western world
If the Japanese and the Chinese can build these railways in earthquake prone regions, there is absolutely no excuse why the U.K. can’t develop its railways to this high standard, a prime example of which is the abject failure of HS2 - the U.K. mindset is all totally wrong when it comes to railways and either the Japanese or the Chinese (preferably both) should be given direct and complete control of the U.K. railways without any interference being permitted, in order to raise standards and lower fares, rail projects taking half the time and for half the costs with far greater restrictions being placed on U.K. rail trade unions, who along with successive U.K. governments, are holding back progress on the U.K. railways for no real nor justifiable reasons, just a litany of lame excuses that most people are so tired of hearing - it’s rapidly reaching the point where very tough action will have to be taken very soon in the U.K. as our railways are falling apart

I got an upgrade to first class once on the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Toyohashi. I forgot how wonderful train travel could be until this video. Thanks.

Ah, if only I were young enough to go to Japan again I'd love to take that luxury train. There's nothing like it where I live.

First class all the way!
How many pairs of take home slippers do you have from all your travels? 😂
I bet at least a closet full of slippers
This is so much more civilized than air travel. Thanks for sharing Kuga.
The only foreigner that liked our fermented fish(Baltic Herring) were from Japan.
Surströming?😮
You must try the train experience in Indonesia 😊😊😊
Have the sushis alway been decorated hundreds of yrs ago?
Boa viagem ai trem Bala
It does make we wonder why they don't offer Gran class on the toukaidou shinkansen.
Do something different and rare in Osaka, join a meetup and meet and talk to locals who enjoy speaking English with foreigners.
Is it summertime in kanszawa

I learned about konpeito from watching the anime Bleach 😁 Yachiru's favourite candy. I wonder how it tastes ❤

I could afford that.
What's up with that tiny windows? Deal breaker for me: no way would I pay to sit in that car. I need the view.
orderly exit of commuters from train while commuters waiting to board...wouldn't see that here in Canada.
As a delegate of "the west", we wouldn't eat any of that. Maybe they meant like Italy or something.

4:00 That "Western" menu isn't very Western...
"Western Fare" (pause, looks at menu..) Not a single thing like that is available anywhere in the "west."
A lot of people confused as to what countries are part of the western world. Quick google search will help you understand its not only just america 😂😂
🙄 Meanwhile .... thank you Kuga
Squid anything taint western!!!!😮
LOL, you haven't been to southern Europe...
As a "westener" I love squid.
Literally on nearly every menu at pubs in Australia not even considering propper restaurants
Kuga san, I don't recognize you without your Club 7 Boulder, CO shirt...! But still, as soigne as ever! Thanks for this.✌🤟🚝
