So for weathering you used watered down acrylic paint, which looks great. But another really cool option is to use watered down shoe polish. It's the same process but I feel like the shoe polish looks a lot cooler if you wanted to try it.
Odin make falcons backpack with wings that fold in and pop out (obviously it doesn’t have to fly) it would be super cool and maybe you could even make the goggles to go with it. Keep up the good work
Very cool! I was thinking of making the forehead of the helmet as one piece and avoiding the middle seam. That piece doesn't really bend very much. I am hoping it works out ok. Thank you for the templates!
Go for it! I thought I was getting too much of a bend in it. You might be able to do a butterfly cut, where the seam only goes part way, then the top could be as smooth as possible...

This is a pretty simple design, but I'm just wondering how it would be done: Grendel's weapon, the two bladed fork, particularly the spring-loaded version that doubles as a cane, wielded by Hunter Rose, and maybe best seen in the crossover with The Shadow. I'm planning on doing cosplay of the character either this October or next May, and that's an essential part of the design that I'd be interested in seeing your take on.
A hair dryer can warm up the thinner foam, but a hair dryer is probably not hot enough for the thicker stuff. You can get a heat gun from Harbor Freight Tools for about $10. Maybe less if you find a coupon. That metal thing is a plannishing stake, and you have to make it. Mine is just a plastic punch ladel from the dollar store epoxy glued to wood. Cut the handle off the ladel first.
Hey just wanted to let you know, plaster is a great way to get rid of those rough foam imperfections. Doing it before plasti-dip should make it more like metal too! (like so he can see)
Odin, you should use this thing called kwik seal to fill in seams, it’s made by Dap just like the contact cement and it’s really handy. Just a suggestion.
Yes!! I am very cheap when it comes to materials and I used cardboard and it came out very well, Of course not as well as odin's came out but I was happy with the results, Ps: Lots of patience

I found spraying clouded plastic with clear gloss spray paint helps clean everything back up( not ideal but helps)
