    This has lightened my darkest hour: 1:40 AM.

    That blew my mind to find out that the Matrix's core was held by string. I've thought it floated for the past 15 years

    • @DonnyStanley
      @DonnyStanley 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Micah R. Maloney yeah. I think Odin knows this too that's why he makes that face as he says it.

    • @ronaldorejalde3338

      I did float

    • @artiequick3583
      @artiequick3583 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Even i saw the string and that line wasnt on hotrod's chest when the matix wasnt open

    • @thedarkestnight9600
      @thedarkestnight9600 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@mixofreak just watched the scene and idk what you mean. because you can see the string bits actually attached inside the matrix halves

    • @mixofreak
      @mixofreak 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thedarkestnight9600 I stand corrected in that specific view, however, I thought maybe it was an animation error, as the 'strings' are not visible on any of the other alternate views of the scene that follow afterward, and only in a few frames, but they are visible briefly in The Return of Optimus Prime as well! Possibly it was originally an animation error but is now part of canon, even if no other form of media has them. When I originally commented, I must have blinked and missed when it opened far enough to see that, since I rewatched the scene and can see it now.

    • @OdinMakes

      Thank you! I really wanted to do actual tutorials, even if they are more entertainment based. I always hated watching or learning about something new only to have some step left out, or just skipped because "everyone knows this!" I specifically remember looking up tutorials on how to reprogram Nintendo cartridges to play homebrew games on the 8bit console, and I watched 4 different videos, plus read a number of written instructions, and all of them left something out! I had to cross reference each of them, and still guess on a step or two! I got it to work, and we did it for a Beyond Geek episode, but that was a real catalyst for trying to show everything.
      Thank you for noticing!

      Odin Makes yeah I know what you mean. It happens in a lot of tutorial videos. But I really like the effort and amount of detail you put into your videos. Keep up the good work!

    Gorgeous work, and of a prop I've actually never seen before! I love how you try new things with each new prop you tackle, and use easy to find pieces and tools. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to decide on a prop and then find out you need something from a whole dimension over to finish it the most accurate way possible. Keep up the great work!

    You Odin, are my hero. I love how you look at stuff and can formulate plans on how to make it already! I am always in awe with the final product. My suggestions consist of these things I am trying to make myself as a matter of fact:
    -Infinity Gauntlet (Probably towards the release of the Infinity War movie)
    -Saw Cleaver (Bloodborne)
    -Porg (Star Wars The Last Jedi main mascot )
    -Princess Mononoke Mask with headdress

    I love this design and prop work. If I made this, I would use metal, but I don't even have a fraction of the materials he has to make it the way odin makes. 😅

    You are great at making props
    I remember I was really into transformers when I was little and I saw this movie thinking that it was the 2008 version

    One more step would be to add a chain or build a display base to it. So awesome.

    I'm so glad that you went with the styrene covered handle over the tissue version and you're right about going with what you're comfortable with, but I'd also suggest that working outside your comfort zone allows you to broaden your skill set which would help in future build projects.
    One thing I would like to know about this build is regarding the light up central core sphere. Have you considered lining the inside with your diffusion material (on projects like this and others), rather than the outside? I just think that the over all effect would look a little neater and when the lights are off, the ball would still look blue, but the effect would still be the same as shown here in your video.
    Anyway, I've just discovered your channel and I really like what you're doing. Please keep the videos coming... and I'm off to catch up with your back catalogue!

    just so you know, you can use a miter guage when cutting against the grain on a table saw. It prevents kickback like that
