      The Endless Adventure Tip for Zürich. I think mr. Zurich can tell you all the perfect places. My recommendation for Switzerland, Zermatt, Davos, Bern... but the most fun you get with sport in Switzerland. So I recommend you one week ski holidays or hikking tours with a professional mountain guide.

    I cannot get over how clean and clear the water in that river was.......that looked like fun. Love all things cheese. If you get a chance try a piece of APPENZELLER, made in Switzerland , and one of the great cheeses. I would love to visit, so damn pretty.
    Your hat was quite cute Allsion.

    • @leung9401
      @leung9401 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Appenzeller rocks, especially the aged variety. It's also the cheese that's used to make "Chäshörnli mit Öpfelmues", a traditional, very simple dish born out of necessity, which consists of tiny maccaroni-like pasta mixed with lots of grated medium-aged Appenzeller cheese, served with butter-fried breadcrumbs and chunky applesauce. It's just melty, gooey, buttery, crunchy, sweet, divine cheesyness...

    Raclette has been picking up steam at restaurants and pubs in the states the past couple of years also as folks has been enjoining good cheeses. They use different cheeses also, so no always stinky. Just the method of heating and serving the cheese over potatoes or veggies, etc. Just look for restaurants with artisan cheese, if and when you get back to the States :)

    I’m from Colorado been living in Zurich almost 8 years. I love this country. It’s clean, very low crime rate, however it is expensive. The veal dish you ate is actually beef, veal is just from a young calf making it very tender. The sausage is “snapping” because the casing are natural casing, made from the outer over the intestines. Yum!!!

    • @SwissMarksman
      @SwissMarksman 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can't sell Veal as Beef. Then you need to declare it different on the menucart.

    • @karinhausammann2141

      Zurich Geschnetzeltes is always made with veal. At least the original version of it. Never with beef! I‘m from Zurich.

    Ok, I've got snacks in hand and I'm ready for the food tour. I've had Raclette a couple of times and it does taste better than it smells, I'm surprised Eric hasn't had rhubarb before. I grew up eating rhubarb pies etc, and cooked rhubarb with ice cream is one of my favourite things :D

    • @vincerussett7922
      @vincerussett7922 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Greetings from Somerset UK! Hey, Eric, I can't believe you've never tried rhubarb! I f you want to be scientific, it's actually a petiole (leaf stem), and there aren't many traditional English veggie gardens that don't have at least one crown of rhubarb (we have two) - when the rhubarb begins to grow in England, it's a sign that winter can't last forever. Yeah, its great sweet, with ice cream, or with orange, but we always use a little of our own rhubarb when making chicken dishes, especially Jamaican curry chicken, or even in stuffing for a roast chicken. Can't go wrong!

    This cake, called "Wähe", ist some sort of fruit cake and comes with different flavours: apple, pear, apricot, peach, rhubarb, plume... and it always is very delicious. When you come again, you should try another famous dessert, the "Zuger Torte" (Tarte from Zug, a city in CH). Another very famous dish is "Chäschüechli", a small pastry filled with cheese-cream.

    Btw, for all of you who're visiting and would like to try some rhubarb tart ("Wähe"), you can get it in a lot of bakeries all over the town, but there is one place at Hottingerplatz near Kunsthaus called Berner (or Konditorei Berner) that specializes in all kinds of Wähe. You can get rhubarb ones like in the video, or, if you'd like something more sweet, you can also get them with apples, cherries, plums, apricots and even strawberries or bananas.

      Lake zürich will warm up to around 25°C or 77°F give or take a few degrees depending on weather, and the rivers in Zürich all flow from lake through the city downwards so they are same temp as the lake pretty much. warmest lake water i've swam in was 82-86° in the shallow water around the 2 biggest islands, felt like taking a hot bath

    An Zürich Tourismus, Das war echt super. Ohne Begleitung währe das nix geworden. YTer brauchen einen Plan mit Infos oder eine Begleitung. Die wenigsten Informieren sich richtig und dann entstehen Beiträge die ein extrem negatives Bild zeigen. 👍👍👍 Wir lachen zwar oft über die Japaner aber die Planen perfekt und haben dann oft mehr erlebt als die coolen Westler 🤔🤔🤔 Das war echt Top 👍👍👍

      99JustJenny 99JustJenny nun jeder muss das für sich entscheiden. Ich mach jeweils einen Plan, Liste, frage im Hotel... und bin dann auch flexibel. Wenn man einfach los zieht findet man wenig. Finde mal ein Restaurant in Japan ohne Info. Viel Spass.

    Well Raclette is like THE most famous Swiss dish besides Fondue which you also have to try if you really like cheese.
    The rubarb „tarte“ you tried comes in very different types. My personal favourite is with grated apples and hashed almonds on the bottom but you can also get it with apricots, plums, berries etc.
    You should definitely visit other Swiss cities such as Lucerne, Geneva, Bern or a very old but wonderful small town called „Stein am Rhein“ which is located in the very north at the same called river Rhein (Rhine).

    Nice to know they offer vegetarian foods as well. Other youtubers show mostly cheese, meat and chocolate which might be bit of a turn off for the healthy consumer.

    Hi The Endless Adventure, the only thing that you haven't eaten which you definitely should have tried when you were in Switzerland was cheese fondue. It's a Swiss hot cheese dish which is eaten with bread, potatoes, vegetables and sometimes cold meat. The cheese is mixed with white wine and garlic and by heating up the mixture it becomes more viscous so you can dip your bread in it. It is really delicious :D You could also have tried some Swiss chocolates, but overall you guys did a very complete food tour!

      Swiss people only eat fondue when it’s cold outside. So since we’re in the middle of a heat wave, it’s definitely not the right food for the season!

      Meissoun, I know it is a winter dish but raclette is also not the kind of food I would recommend when it's a heat wave. They did let it cool down a little bit (what you normally don't when you're eating raclette), but still the hot cheese dishes are not meant to be eaten when it is hot. I think the object of the food tour was to show non Swiss people what are typical Swiss dishes. Most of the food tours don't stick to one season with the selection of dishes they want to show to the viewers or one specific region in a country. So is Raclette a dish with it's origin in Wallis, can Rösti be linked to Kanton Bern, and so on. For that reason I think they could definitely have included fondue in their food tour. Just like I think they could have done a breakfast with Bircher Müsli.
