THANK YOUU so much for putting together such a detailed video with description and tips, I'm going to Switzerland for the first time in 2 weeks and it is also my first big international trip so to say I am overwhelmed is an understatement but your videos are helping me feel more confident.
Thanks so much for letting us know our videos are helpful! Our goal is to help travelers feel confident planning and taking their trip. We hope you have the best time!
I was in Switzerland for 1.5 month this summer and I loved my stay! 🥰 Swiss is so beautiful!! I can’t wait to go back for another visit ! I love your videos , it makes me want to go back sooner !! 😊
Watched all your vids multiple times while researching our trip. While we didnt get to do everything due to weather and time of year, we made sure to visit Massimo at Velo Cafe. Hope to cross paths with you on a future trip. Not content creators, just home videos. Making memories, seeing the world. #livewhileyoureliving -Mark n Heidi
Hello dear ones, first of all a compliment to you, you are a very sympathetic family. You are through your travels more in Europe than at home in the States. I have seen several of your videos now and they are all excellent. It seems that you love and like Europe and are happy here, I should not be surprised if you are thinking about moving to Europe, although Switzerland is very expensive compared to other countries, but Europe has so much to offer there should be a nice place to find with security. Gladly seen would be you of course here with us.
Thanks for your kind words 🙂 We currently spend half of our year in Europe and half at home in the USA. But we’re grateful to have so much time abroad!
Hi Janet and Brett! 👋 Look at all of those desserts! Spinach quiche and cheese quiche look amazing 🤩 Ohhh we like those “sneaking away spots! Thanks for the insider info. 😊 Yes, those views would make the food taste even better! Wow that restaurant looked totally unassuming and then you end up surrounded by waterfalls.😮 That’s quite the cappuccino! Yes great idea to enjoy before hiking 🥾. Ohhhh secret sweet rolls… brilliant to add it to your map! Hey guys awesome share. You totally have us hungry now. We hope you enjoy 😊 our channel as well. All the best- Andy and Rachel
Hi Andy and Rachel! You sound as excited about this food as we were! Thanks for watching and taking the time to share your thoughts. We hope you get to enjoy so of these foods and drinks when you visit next time!!
Food in Interlaken is expensive, so for lunch we bought instant noodles and sandwiches from the COOP so we could eat at places like this and not worry about it.
We loved this guys! We love Switzerland so enjoyed the views as much as the food. Kaffe und Kuchen is such a great time of the day. The views from that restaurant, wow and the zoff bread too. Loved it all 🍻
It's "Zopf", (spoken with well heard "p" in the "pf") or "Butterzopf" (because in original recipes is much butter in the dough) not "Zoff" (with two "f"). Zoff is somehing very different, it means something like having big trouble. "Ich ha Zoff g'haa mit XY" means "I had massive trouble with XY". Asking someone "wott'sch Zoff?" is very aggressive (U wanna have trouble!?), while "Wott'sch Zopf?" is a friendly question (You like to have some Zopf bread?), usually asked while sitting on the breakfast table. ;)
@@SH1974 thanks for explaining! My Swiss German needs some work! Hopefully your explanation will keep my out of trouble next time we’re there. Cheers 🍻
I guess I have to do this on my next visit! I remembered you shoot this video on the day I have meet you guys in person while we headed to Grindelwald! Such a nice couple you 2! Keep it up and always you are a great help for me and for us!

Thank you so much for the vdo! I just learnt from you guys that milk and cheese from different region could taste different 🤯 def. will try those cafe & restaurant in your list!! Btw would please share the link to the map you put together? I couldn’t find the link in the article 😢
I like Rick Steves!! 😆 I will say though that his stuff isn’t always kid friendly. When using his material for geography I have to edit. Not once have I had to cut stuff from any of your videos. Such good information! I know that everyone says CH is crazy expensive but we live in a tourist town where the prices are pretty much the same. The only exception is meat prices in the grocery store. On the other hand, if you go to the health food store and look at the price of grass fed beef you’ll see it costs the same, if not more, than what it does in CH. And if I’m not mistaking that’s what you get there. All grass fed? I took my 14 year old and my 3 year old to a little café yesterday. 3 sandwiches, 3 desserts, 2 sodas and a latté… over $70. That was for lunch. There’s a place that my husband and I go for our anniversary. Charcuterie Salad Main course Dessert Drink (Usually something non alcoholic. Just can’t stand that smell! Not offended by anyone who enjoys a drink though.) $350-400. That’s just the 2 of us. Anyhow still saving pennies!! Enjoy your videos very much. Locking away the info for the future!
We like Rick Steve’s too 😉 We aim to make our videos family friendly because we have 8 nieces/nephews who are always watching! And we absolutely agree with you that the groceries are not that expensive, aside from meat. I’m not sure about the grass fed beef, so I’ll have to look it up!!
Great videos! Subscribed a few back. Ive just become obsessed with travelling to Switzerland so your channel is just fuelling that obsession! 😂 ❤ from 🇦🇺
Enjoyed this video. We missed so many of these featured treats when we were there. However, we had a veal dish at the Piz Gloria revolving restaurant tho, which was a highlight, atop the Schilthorn. Appreciate all the tips!

Hi janet and brett, thanks for all your insightful videos…my wife and I are hoping to visit swizerland for the first time around march-april next year for 7 days, is it smart to make interlaken as our base for the majority of our trip if not our whole trip? We’ll probably just have a day tour in zurich on our last day before proceeding to milan. Is lucerne and zermatt worth going for a day trip as well? Hope to get your suggestion and thank you in advance, safe travels to you guys always!
Hey Geoffrey! Sounds like a great trip! Be sure to watch our new video coming out this Saturday 11/12 because we’re answering all of your questions about where to stay in this region! If you still have a question after that, just drop it in those comments and we will be happy to help 😊
I LOVE the farm fridge, We could never do somthing like that here in america without somone stealing all the meat, fridges and every copper pipe out the walls.
Most of them are now accepting credit cards (mostly Visa and Mastercard). Only a few shops are cash-only, so it's good to be prepared, but you won't need much cash.
Can In take an ordinary train from Milan to Interlaken instead of the Bernina Express. Is the view significantly different? Is it worth it to take the Bernina Express?
How to eat a Rahmschnitte / Cremeschnitte properly: Flip it on its side, so the layers stand vertical! Result: the cream won't get squeezed out when You use the forks to "cut" pieces off.

@@AplinsintheAlps Haha, You're welcome, mate! Lamb fillet - 41.50 CHF is 196 złoty. I just realised how weak my currency is 😅 For such amount of money 2 people can survive one week with no special effort in Warsaw (I mean food expenses and home cooking ofc) ☺️
French fries are pretty standard, but that lamb is divine! It's perfectly flavored from the grill. And that is not regular mayo - it's homemade garlic mayo that melts in your mouth. Swiss food may not be cheap but I promise this meal is worth it! (Which is why I've had it multiple times, haha!)
I am new to this channel so I have a question..do you guys live there or you are on a tour? Did you scripted your video before going there bcz it looks like you already knew all the things? And the last thing your videos are awesome and made me watch till the end😊.

Why is fondue so darned expensive??? The cheapest I found in Interlaken or Zurich was 42 CHf (~$42 USD) *per person*. It was unlimited eats, but it was just pieces of bread & small potatoes. Two people & two beers set us back over a hundred! You'd figure cheese would be cheap in Switzerland...
We agree that its a beautiful country and can be expensive! But we've also learned how to save money while traveling Switzerland. We've created a few videos about how to save money while traveling and we'd recommend checking them out if you're planning a trip here!
As a married couple it must be difficult on your children with all the travel. As we learn in God's perfect word that children in a marriage are the reward from God. So if you can make the travel work with the kids all the better. I guess there is homeschooling options etc.

My wife and I did the same!
Coop sandwiches were good and cheap. They even sell hot food in some of the Coop stores.
Eating in restaurants can be quite expensive, but the grocery store is very reasonable! Those take away sandwiches are nice and convenient 🙂
In leaving for Switzerland tonight so Coop will save the pennies I lost already 😰
