Thank you for the reviews. When I started lifting I bought a second hand Bowflex 5.1 which was a great value but definitely has some limitations. I want to spend the money now and get a high quality bench that will last me a long time. I watched your Rogue reviews as well as this one and they are very detailed and well thought out. I really appreciate it since I cannot afford to be buying multiple benches to test them out if I want to stay living in my house.
Built my AB-5200 2.0 a week ago & absolutely love it. It replaced a commercial grade bench I was using because it’s actually much better in several ways. I can’t recommend it highly enough, especially for the price. PS: I noticed the same about the missing washers in some areas. Bought mine in blue which looks great, but would have loved to get it in the clear grind finish if it was currently available.
Appreciate the review and comparisons. The feedback on our end has been extremely positive. We've been taking our time with the new releases and ensuring they meet the REP standard we've set.
@davidbenning10 That would be great! I would definitely get the black wing if it had a leg curl attachment. I may just go with Ironmaster since it seems more versatile
@@davidbenning10 We are launching one this year. We tested a lot of competitors and wanted to ensure we made one that far exceeded what else was out there. this is the bench that made rep popular. blackwing has to many moving parts which doesnt eliminate wiggle in the seat overtime. This is the only solid bench I would buy from rep fitness.
I'd personally take the 5200 2.0 over the SBP 2.0 but they're kind of in different leagues. The 5200 2.0 is an outstanding bench that borders on commercial quality and the SBP is the pinnacle of a home gym bench. Can do a lot and a lot of people really like it but it is home gym quality. If you need a do everything piece the SBP could be great for you once you get a bunch of attachments but the 5200 2.0 is better at being a bench.
Hey I'm looking for help in deciding on a FID adjustable bench which stores vertically and is easy to move around. I've watched ur reviews on Manta Ray and Rep Blackwing. They both got the purpose as I'm def going to use the decline feature with foot catcher , but I'm super concerned my wife won't be able to lift up the Blackwing as its front loaded. Winnie showed she found the Manta Ray easier to lift . Is that truly the case or not so much ?
Yep Wynie likes the Manta Ray more because it's weighted towards the back more so it's easier to lift. The BlackWing has the Zero gap mechanism up front which really make it feel much heavier when lifting and moving it. Neither are particularly light benches.
Firstly, love the channel and all u guys put out. Super appreciate it.. secondly thank you replying . In ur opinion is there a FID bench I'm missing in not considering . The get GETrxd seems poor quality with packing and customer service, ironmaster not a fan of all the add on pieces . Prime said there's didn't stand vertically and stray dog don't offer a FID . I didn't want to spend Manta Ray rouge money but for the lift weight and storage not sure what's left ! I really believe the future for adjustable benches is 100lbs, vertical store and being a FID with super stability. Keep the reviews coming as ur doing a great job.... and the bench addiction is just fine to have 🤣
Stop with the bench videos. You're so convincing that I keep changing my mind!!! Props to Rep for finally recognizing your talents and feeding your addiction with a freebie. It's about damn time companies begin to recognize
Only the Blackwing can use the roller attachment also. They’re coming out with a leg curl and extension and since you can’t use atackents on the 5200 2.0 it’s Blackwing only.
@ Rep sent me a quote for 3000 2 and I’m not sure if I should just pull the trigger on the Blackwing over the 3000. Also do you suggest the wide padding over standard?
Moreso. This is the message from REP: The clear coat is a higher price to do the process to create the finish. A grinder is run over the surface of the steel by hand, giving it a swirl-texture and bringing out the natural shine of the metal. Since this is done by hand, it add some labor time to each component, making it a more premium option. Once complete, the surface is then powder coated in clear for a dynamic, unique finish. This technique also masks the wear and tear better than our other color options
If you're referring to the bench rack combo, it's a decent and space friendly entry level product. Mine has held up well for years for benching and squats. The pad is slippery but mine still looks like new. Pin spacing is 2 inch and the plastic bar contact surfaces are thin. It's served me well but as soon as I make some space, I'm moving up to a full power rack and bench.
5200 2.0 or blackwing? Or 4100? I'm a first time home gym owner. Would prefer to buy once and not have to replace for a long time. I'm not even sure whether I need a 14" wide pad but I see a lot of forum posts of people saying they will never go smaller after trying 14"

My wife loves it but I prefer the size and higher touches of the 5200. The BW is also a very good bench but the Zero Gap really isn't necessary and is still a bit clunky. I wouldn't worry about the wide pads. We workout with all types here and multiple guys rep 400+ and I've never heard them ask or want a 14" pad but there is some preference there
@GlucksGym worried about the 4100 not being sturdy enough. 350 is my max right now so debating getting this. Also worried about the narrower rear frame 20.3 inches vs 25.8 on the 5200 2.0...so 4100 or 5200 2.0
