Gad Beautiful plane and setup, I just stuffed a 30b in my Sig Cub. Cant wait for the maiden flight. I am a big Saito lover for 40 plus years from glow to gas. I have, 3 - 60r3s 1 - fg61 twin 1-73r5 and 1 fg 21cc and 1- 90r3. Cant beat the sound and quality of these engines. Also just bought a UMS 50cc for my Stinson Reliant, and 7 cylinder Ums 90cc 7 cylinder, not sure yet where it will go. 4 stoke engines are the sweetest sound out there in RC. Can you please post where you bought the Cessna and floats from, love the setup. and good luck
Awesome those are some amazing birds and engine combos you’ve got. The sky is yours! and wish you all the best with the maiden of your Sig Cub. The Cessna airframe is the ESM. its an old model they cut production about 6 years ago this was supplied by bigplanes.nl, ARF pros and greathobbies. Unfortunately ESM is out of the market however you can search in various rc forums if you still need one, I have seen ads of same bird built listed. I tell you its a good plane☺️, the only downside now is you have to fabricate own parts if needed due to unavailability, I made new set of fiberglass wings slightly heavier but flys okay. hope this helps sorry for late response
Gad - What a beautiful set-up!!! I am building my first non-electric rc plane right now and am using your engines little brother, a Saito fg-21. I am loving it so far!! I have two questions for you; I have that same Sulivan starter, where did you get the adapter for the (Makita?) battery? Second, is that plane an ARF or did you scratch build it? Its a stunning machine and id like to know more about it!! Please post more, i loved your video!
Thank you The adapter for the Sullivan starter I got from afineredgemfg.com It makes the starter really handy. This is ARF Im happy you like this I have more coming up shortly
Very good muffler exhaust, I looked everywhere and didn't find it, you can share the muffler model, which manufacturer, and where I can buy it, it was very good
Thank you. Yes engine ventilation is good I cut opened the air intake a little more and also enlarged the space under the cowl flaps for easy flow out. Nice Bae hawk you have got!
Hi, Ai have the same plane in construction at the moment and i am wandering about the engine, my estimated all up weight will be between 7 and 8kg. How are you satisfied with this engine? i am hesitating to go electric, OS GT33 or this Saito FG30. I need to be able to tow occasionally a 10kg slow glider. Thanks . Nice video.
@@gad_ayep OK thank you for the quick reply... I've just bought mine and the Old Owner didn't know the manufacturer... I have a 36 CC 2-stroke engine in mine. Happy flying enjoy your days... From UK

Very good muffler exhaust, I looked everywhere and didn't find it, you can share the muffler model, which manufacturer, and where I can buy it, it was very good
Yes its a good muffler. You can get it from www.rcspecialties.net
muffler part number: TH15X1A
right angle adapter part number: RCS15X15S
@@gad_ayep Oh...it was very fast, but I couldn't find a model RCS 15x15S there, and I'm far from the store, I live in Brazil
@@wagnerfratelli3500 you can send them an email about this. Im not sure but the part may be out of stock.
@@gad_ayep Sim ok
What kind of spinner do you have on it ? Brand ?
Sounds good. Heavy like bricks. Not very fast.
A great video well done, but are you sure that you have enough ventilation for the engine ?.

Yes engine ventilation is good
I cut opened the air intake a little more and also enlarged the space under the cowl flaps for easy flow out.

@@gad_ayep oh wow, I didn't know that... Thank you for the information 👍
What prop size and maximum rpm did you achieve with the saito FG30?
First prop on test bench 2 blade APC 16 x 8 max rpm 9200. second scale prop 3 Blade MAS 15x7 was just around 9000
I don’t see much air moving over the cylinder area in your config, are you able to fly without it overheating?
You are right Tim. I had to cut the cowl even more to expose the cylinder to let in much air. The engine is more than happy now and works okay
Saito gasers run hot.😮
Doesn't look like it would get much air to cool the engine. Any problems?
I cut the cowl larger to let in more air for the engine cooling later. Runs okay
I wonder if I can squeeze 5he FG30 into a blackhorse tucano 1730mm. Lol. Maybe.
Haha No I wont put the FG30 on the Tucano its just too much. maybe FG21 or the NGH GT17
How many max RPM did you get with APC 16x8 prop ?
Thanks. Marco from Rome - Italy
Max RPM with the APC 16x8 is about 9600. Sorry for late reply Marco
Can I Test it 😁
Can I see your pilot license Sir?😁
Just pulling your legs.
Yes you can but these birds are quiet sophisticated.

What about cooling?
I later cut the air intake on the cowling larger to let in more air. Flys ok
