Here are many experts who have given their valued comments and I have learnt many things from them. But in my humble opinion, I think besides sound there is another aspect which is very important to me and that is the ease of use. Which one starts to perform out of the box? That is also important to me. I have heard that Korg has to be finely tuned to make it sound natural. But I don't know that about Yamaha because in any of these comparison videos, nobody highlighted that. If anybody can put some light on this aspect, I will be grateful. And soundwise, both have their ups and downs I think. Thank you all and thanks to the video maker for this excellent video.
I have already comented here before 3 years !!! Wow man.. what a video !! Why dont you do a same video like this for Pa5x vs genos 2 ??? !!! ❤ Expecting from you like the same... Excited
Świetna robota i genialny muzyk :) :)
@Xeraser the reason exactly that Yamaha use low quality compressed wavforms so when you listen to sounds in solo mode it will be ok but after mixing , it will be muddy weak disappointment song .. and sure you'll not note this in youtube demos , anyway i think Yamaha made better quality in new Montage keyboard compared to Tyros series
@@MegaVoiceTube Lol. You must mean the opposite. The yamaha sounds so good in solo playing due to the high quality waveforms. Sometimes they need to be tamed down to sound good in a mix. Actually, I find the more basic sounds blend better in a style than super articulation or more elaborated voices.
Never thought I would say this but Korg has kinda caught my attention that's as close as I've ever heard anything that can even challenge a Yamaha. With Yamaha quality and Korg be damn near similar is kinda scary. And the Korg doesn't have mega voices but my god the guitar on that thing is wonderful. It seems more depth...but nothing can beat a Yamaha mega voice... Now I've used both Yamaha and Korg....Korg for bass and Yamaha for main lead voices grand and electric piano and let me say the two together with certain voices is just an unholy sight if you know how to do it right!!! But alright Korg! But I still love Yamaha even though my first keyboard was a Casio

They call it the 'German Grand' but its not from Steinway. The best piano tones are in a Kurzweil, Dexibell Nova s7 and Yamaha Motif series. I've had firsthand experience with these keyboards. its subjective to each individual, yes. But you must try these keyboards out and hear for yourself. :)
This video proved something very interesting to me. I have 3 friends who I would consider loyalist. They all stand by Korg or Yamaha. They have biases big time. I played this without showing the video portion. All 3 picked the opposite one. I tried this on a larger scale with the sound order mixed up, 128 people total. The results were as one might expect, some preferred the sounds on one of them while they preferred other sounds on the other choice. Most were pretty close (within 10%), the biggest discrepancy came with the strings where there was a 82% to 18% discrepancy. I found a much better to compare wasn't by sounds but rather by features. When I showed the feature list and had them rated, there were many more definite responses and while the split was still relatively close, the features triggered make or break decisions in many people.
The top one won many of the sounds for me, not all of them but it's much neater looking and has a smaller screen. When your playing on stage, people want to see you!

Just my personal opinion: Flute - Korg Piano - Tie Muted Trumpet - Tie (Korg's more natural, but Yamaha's got brighter sound), Electric Piano - Korg Acoustic Guitar - Yamaha definitely, with the slide effect of super articulation, Steel Guitar - Yamaha again (more natural sound) Violin - Korg's Violin is awesome! Harmonica - Yamaha (the quality is perfect for blues and pop ballad) Accordion and Musette - Tie (depending on the usage of effects.) Thank you for posting. Keep it up my friend.

I don't know why, I always prefer the Korg power of sound. In this case articulations also have been really improved, giving the possibility to use a single sound for many espression techniques. I was a Korg pa3x owner And I sold it for a Tyros5. So I can give a very realistic opinion. Considering the Set List function, the MP3 in mp3 recording and the style from midi direct conversion, Korg pa4x represents a big temptation. However at the moment I' m not still so convinced to make a change from Tyros back to Pa4.
Both Korg Pa4X and Yamaha Tyros 5 have great realistic sounds qualities, but, for me, Korg almost wins all the tests except Sax and Violin sounds Yamaha can sound better and more natural. Well.. I think they are still Two Best of The Beasts ever made by far..
Yamaha sounds are much more convincing with rich detail but all the pros I see onstage are using the Korg. Gotta be a reason for that. Probably it's more performance friendly.
A keyboard is not only tones, is the set of its features and sounds, the sounds of the 2 two keyboards are compatible with a slight advantage for Korg, but when the subject is resources and schedules, there is that Yamaha is years light Korg, PA4x uam is the complete and professional workstation with everything what a professional musician needs in agulidade of material, programming and resources, if you had to give a note to the complete set of each keyboard would be Nora 9.5 for Korg and note 7 to the Tyros.
great demo but let's be straight two wonderfull machins/musical instruments. you could play either one tomorrow gigging/whatever and be very happy with either of the two. both class leaders. John (uk)
I think that the voice (tone) might be according to the setting of the VOICE FILE. according to my opinion both are good. We can make Yamaha sound like korg sound through settings.
String and pianos go to Korg. Winds and brass go to Yamaha. Yamaha seems to have a darker/ EQ curve than the Korg. But the Korg EQ sounds scooped in the mids to me. Then, considering price, I'd pick the korg PA4X over the Tyros 5.
My honest opinion it’s like comparing apples and oranges they both sound great there are a lot of things that the Yamaha sound terrible like it’s piano it’s absolutely awful does not sound like a piano at all. The Korg has more realistic Piano but as for brass instruments the Yamaha wins. I think Yamaha always had the best Woodwind and brass instruments for guitars and basses they both have a tire up because I like both of them for different genres of music it’s the same thing saying with synthesizer sounds pads and will eat apples and oranges. when it comes to the background rhythm arrangements I have to say that both of them to have their characteristics but my absolute favorite is the Korg because when you hit a major minor or seventh chord everything changes and everything is different plus you can manipulate the styles the way how you want it on the fly. Yamaha really has to work on that they cannot do it as flawlessly as Korg. another thing that the Korg can do is load samples and sound funds which gives it more of a broad library you can make your own sounds and you can also still sounds off of the Yamaha if you need to.
If you plot a SINE, Yamaha sounds like a smooth curve, while Korg many times sounds like is missing that smoothness. Some times that lack of smoothness works well for more ethereal sounds like flute. But for sounds that needs lot's of harmonic content the smoothness of Yamaha wins.
There's only a small difference in sounding, but the best of Korg will be the characteristic solo instruments and the musicant SW! That's professionell! Take both, connect a midi cable or a computer and you'll have both worlds! The menue in Korg is easier and better!
Bez problemu mogli go przyciąć o co najmniej 15cm - Korg tutaj zdecydowanie wytrącił pałeczkę Tyrosowi
These days, the sounds are great across every brand so the layout is the part that is most different. Korg layout is easier for me to understand than Yamaha so I know more easily where the parts and parameters are in the menus.
I'm A big Yamaha fanboy, arranger keyboard wise, but gotta admit Korg has come a long Way since the first pa models. There are great sounds in both of these keyboards. I still prefere Yamaha, but thats a personal preference. The pa sounds more raw with some nice gritty sounds, where Yamaha has A much more polished sound. Definetly the closest any other brand has come to rival the 10+ years leadership in arrangerkeyboards of the Tyros series.
some sound on Tyros more naturalistic or tasteful for my years comparing with Korg but in the meantime, the violin sound mouth organ is more natural on Korg but price wise KORG is winner
The reality is major performers use what ever suits them best. Go the artist page for either of these companies and you'd be very disappointed to learn that your favorite artist uses the "other" company's product.
the tyros s art 2 voices really shine here over the korg.also the 76 keys make a good advantage too.touch screen is nice to have but overall tyros 5 wins over
I do not understand why to compare when the keyboard reads the samples, it can sound like anything or anyone, by default The Korg has more options and is more advanced, Jamaha generally has a more natural sound
Almost every Korg's sound I heard here has much more air and sounds pretty much close to the live performance. Maybe it is very expensive but I think for every studio musician it's worth to pay.
Not enough on straight piano. Too many sound hard, and if you tried a Bill Evans approach, you'd never get it. The pianos are designed to cut through the mix. Are the pianos on these adjustable to keep the harder brighter tones less available when you hit the keys harder, bur still get an increase in loudness?
My opinion is that and is true 100% Yamaha is sound warmer like korg But you cant do with a yamaha what can do with a Korg...the interface from yamaha is very very hard...at Korg the interface is very simple and useful.
Korg has overall better dynamic, or harder tone. Tyro sounds little soft to me. Why Tyro is more expensive? In Styles...Tyro has more and sweet arrangements.
Trust me guys, I've listen a lot of tyros from 1 to 5 models and korg pa's from 1 to 4, basically tyros 5 and 4 beats all korg's pa's in almost every settings and styles that you want to play. It has better dsp and sound quality in most important style that we use to make music. Even roland makes better sounding machine's than korg despite the fact that roland doesn't have a direct competitor in this arranger class. Who has musical ears and is a professional player can feels the difference of quality between those two instrument's no doubts. The clarity and live style that tyros 5 offer is better than any other arranger of it's class till now. I've listen a lot of those instrument on wedding's events playing a lot of style's and definitely tyros sound's more realistic and clear than korg. My ears prefer yamaha instead of korg. And trust me I have very pretentious and criticize ears when it came to music. By the way, genos it's created for trance and this kinds of styles most than an arranger. A direct comparision between genos and pa4x it is not appropriate in my opinion. Anyway I prefer even genos instead of pa4x. Also I have to admit that pa4x is the best of all pa'x models that was created. Maybe because tyros came with 76 keyboards on no.5 model and they cannot afford to make poor quality arranger to can make some sales.
Both majestic keyboards and my honest opinion is the player is biased towards the Korg and has the volume slightly raised and is more aggressive on the flute and accordion, so not a truly fair comparison. No right or wrong choice here - pays your money and take your pick
Korg brzmi genialnie! Jestem w szoku!

Both are very good keyboards, It all depends how easy the keyboards are to use and the price
In solos you'll feel that Tyros has more realstic sounds after mixing sounds you will know why Korg is better
Very well said. I gave Genos a try after selling my korg p900. Mixing just never gets right. Returned to Korg pa4x and no regrets
Wajahat Naveed You did the right thing , good luck 👍

Both of them or two great Beast on this state is just a matter of preference
Guitar sounds was the killer test, however, Korg sounds dryer in all patches, which is not fair though, but liked the Yamaha more overall
My advising is: have a Tyros and have a PA4x and also have a Ketron Audya 76. Simple like that.
Do you know if Korg are releasing a new upgrade from the pa4x anytime?
If you plot a SINE, Yamaha sounds like a smooth curve, while Korg many times sounds like is missing that smoothness. Some times that lack of smoothness works well for more ethereal sounds like flute. But for sounds that needs lot's of harmonic content the smoothness of Yamaha wins.
Thank you for posting
Magnífico Tyros 5!!
yes
PAX4 looks like the OASYS .. both sound great
There's only a small difference in sounding, but the best of Korg will be the characteristic solo instruments and the musicant SW! That's professionell! Take both, connect a midi cable or a computer and you'll have both worlds! The menue in Korg is easier and better!
Pa4x have more mid focus....great for solo section
Yamaha t5 warm great for back sound
Tyros is clearly the best smart piano today...
Both are great🎹✌👍
Bez problemu mogli go przyciąć o co najmniej 15cm - Korg tutaj zdecydowanie wytrącił pałeczkę Tyrosowi
These days, the sounds are great across every brand so the layout is the part that is most different. Korg layout is easier for me to understand than Yamaha so I know more easily where the parts and parameters are in the menus.
Yamaha T5 layout is so easy you have voices on the right and styles on the left this makes more easy to use than the Korg I have both
I'm A big Yamaha fanboy, arranger keyboard wise, but gotta admit Korg has come a long Way since the first pa models.
Great piano sound on korg pa4🔝
I'm a Korg Guy, but i can see the calories in yamaha for sure!
The reality is major performers use what ever suits them best. Go the artist page for either of these companies and you'd be very disappointed to learn that your favorite artist uses the "other" company's product.
Korg sounds brighter and sharper on the other hand Tyros is warmer and darker.
for me it's Tyros although I came here for the Korg.
Yamaha sounds so much richer, warmer, and expressive.
the tyros s art 2 voices really shine here over the korg.also the 76 keys make a good advantage too.touch screen is nice to have but overall tyros 5 wins over
I do not understand why to compare when the keyboard reads the samples, it can sound like anything or anyone, by default The Korg has more options and is more advanced, Jamaha generally has a more natural sound
K for KING,K for KORG❤️
yamaha is the better one for live performances while the korg would anyday do great in the studio
I had a pa80 years ago. What is same class of that in today market?
Is it possible to speed up the rise/fall of the flute on the Korg? Seems too slow for most jazz
4:48 Xcaret... it makes me cry...
Almost every Korg's sound I heard here has much more air and sounds pretty much close to the live performance. Maybe it is very expensive but I think for every studio musician it's worth to pay.
zvonimir tonković tyros5 is more expensive than pa4
korg pa 4x is perfect
Not enough on straight piano. Too many sound hard, and if you tried a Bill Evans approach, you'd never get it. The pianos are designed to cut through the mix. Are the pianos on these adjustable to keep the harder brighter tones less available when you hit the keys harder, bur still get an increase in loudness?
My opinion is that and is true 100%
Yamaha is sound warmer like korg
But you cant do with a yamaha what can do with a Korg...the interface from yamaha is very very hard...at Korg the interface is very simple and useful.
Korg has overall better dynamic, or harder tone. Tyro sounds little soft to me. Why Tyro is more expensive?
In Styles...Tyro has more and sweet arrangements.
tyros 5 have very natural sound but korg have artificial sound with new effect.
You are very right
I believe the opposite but I respect your opinions.
The timbres of tyros 5 are absurdly better, without comparison
Yamaha forever!
forever
Salut, Outstanding! I love it. Thx. Best regards, Hannes 👏
Hello. I want to learn the piano's music he is playing. What is the name of the music please
I was expecting to hear the Sax effect sounds... oh my... anyway, both are good.
After 1999, I can't fathom why anyone would buy an arranger workstation - unless you're a one-man band horrifying people at an airport.
Korg pa4x for his options and his design but Yamaha for his samples
Both majestic keyboards and my honest opinion is the player is biased towards the Korg and has the volume slightly raised and is more aggressive on the flute and accordion, so not a truly fair comparison. No right or wrong choice here - pays your money and take your pick
