    I’m disappointed Matt never seems to mention your channel, the amount of work going into this deserves more recognition from him. I bet Colin does mate ❤

      That Armstrong lad has gone right down in my books. Very poor behaviour from him bordering on downright disrespectful.

    • @JohnHonda101
      @JohnHonda101 ปีที่แล้ว +39

      @@mrdainase Yeah, you'd think he would make more of an effort to appear on this channel. He seems to be more up the American TH-camrs arse's. That said, I do like Matt Armstrong and what he's doing. Least he could do is wear a Yorkshire Car Restoration Cap or Sweatshirt in One of his video's.

    Absolute brilliant work, love the channel.. the amount of work thats gone in to restoring this car is staggering..at what point does it become uneconomical to repair 🤔

    • @perceptions101
      @perceptions101 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think that had it not been for the TH-cam revenue, this would be strictly a money pit not worth rebuilding. Or at least only worth rebuilding for collectors that have more money than sense. I can’t say this for sure but I would be amazed if that wasn’t the case.

    • @CheeeseToastie
      @CheeeseToastie ปีที่แล้ว +4

      TH-cam pays for it. Otherwise, it would have been a scrapper.

    • @pn8902
      @pn8902 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      whether something is uneconomical depends on the person. If you would pay tens of thousands to repair the car because you want to/can or it means a lot to you then you do it, someone else may just throw it away which is a shame really, shouldn't be doing that with things like this which a lot of other people would actually want and care about

      @peterstokes8631 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On cars of this age, and the 635 has a poor reputation for rust even the 80s version, there will always be some rust in a U.K. car. The only real way of sorting it is complete strip down. This will always be expensive and often (normally) if not done by owner, will exceed value of the car. The benefit is you know that the car is 100% sound and can be treated with modern paints etc which should keep it in decent condition. Yes, I am one of those going through this process, the bills are painful, but after it is finished will be eventually forgotten (assumes you keep the car and can afford it in the first place of course).

    • @zimbabwayne5626
      @zimbabwayne5626 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think a few factors at play. Yes youtube will recoup some cost, but the exposure for YCR doing Mats car is massive. Ive never heard of them until now( Start of series when they collected mats car) And just wow, i see mechanics never this side and such an eye opener and makes you appreciate the work. Considering i live in yorkshire haha. I will be enquiring for rust work now paint booth onsite that too. This will have blown up YCR and rightly so hand inglove for both parties. Mat will prob raffle it. But YCR has master stroke offering do Mats car hottest person on youtube right now anywhere in world. As with Mat you can see the transitions for filming/commentry even the end of this video. That has colab help from Mat all over it. I dont think he needs to "expose YCR" hes done his intro and these boys are just going from stride to stride doing their own thing and thats what its about we dont need another MA channel. YCR is its own identity. Keep up the great, unique work, i now see others trying what your doing as same for MA. But YCR has made fabricating cool again:)

A bit late watching this episode as I was away ( up t north in Yorkshire actually) but full of admiration for your passion and doggedness in trying to bring this and the other vehicles back from what would normally be the end of the road Literally. Imagine as a showpiece if this was totally taken back to bare metal and sanded and smoothed and shiny like a Delorean and then not painted but totally transformed by an extreme lacquered finish even if it showed all the work done. The whole shell stripped to bare metal and preserved that way as a finish.

    Great work! Really detailed! I would like to recommend a little brush up on the safety aspects of power tools.
    Sometimes the safety guards supplied with the tool can be problematic, but they are VERY necessary!
    Please, please,PLEASE make yourself a small "slip guard" if you aren't going to use the one supplied with the tool.
    I got very lucky when I was taught that lesson, suffering a slight grind to my knuckle when the tool slipped and went into my hand.
    A small guard will do, about 2 inches across and with enough space that you can switch between different sizes of cutting disks.
    Be safe.
    No car is worth losing your body parts.
