@Ajafloyd Yea you right because with 4C you gals curl pattern is coily, 4C has like small little coils and curves along the hair strand so the curls dont always clump like on other hair textures. It make sense to just detangle and move on instead of trying to manipulate the hair to be like someone else's which causes loss of more hair

Tanae Horton She definitely didn't over tangle her hair. If your hair ever gets to the length of hers while also being thick tell me how it is, because if you have a lot of hair in general you have to do the most rather you like it or not true story. Unless you don't want your hair anymore. Also some people's hair can dry quickly you need a lot of products to keep it moisturized. Do you even have hair on your head mate it ain't easy out here for naturals especially 4a-4c Naturals with High porosity hair.

@@Jess-ew3tm not everyone wears weave or wigs for a protective hairstyles. It can mess up your hair line and cause alopecia. As for weave even if you wash it that won't get rid of the odor, it causes itchy scalp. That's mostly because some women wear the hair way too long.

Ground breaking advice. You have really helped me be cognizant of the fact that I don't need to comb my hair from root to tip so that i can see my curls pop, I used to feel like that's the only sign that my hair is healthy and thriving meanwhile I'm just adding more tension and encouraging breakage. A lot of natural hair youtubers, in a subtle way, make us believe that is the goal. This video also shows real tangling and shows that is normal for real 4c hair to tangle this way. Their curl pattern is nice but also more commercial. 4C is what most black women have and you don't see it being represented by a lot of people on the internet. Not sure why. Maybe a lot of women with 4c hair struggle to retain length...i know i do. Maybe women with 4C hair don't do videos cause they don't think their curl pattern is as cute as the 3's. I don't know but i know her comment is spot on. And Why are yall so rude on social media? And for no reason.
I've been wearing my hair under wigs for awhile since I've gotten so lazy, but you hair washing steps make it seem less of a chore. Thanks for giving me a hair energy boost.

Your hair is gorgeous! I learned a long time ago that my hair will never be fully detangled in it's natural state. I love that it does it's own thing and is still versatile to do any style.

Loving you so much right now. This is a blessing to have found you. My hair was about your length doing the same methods as you but I became fixated on it being "tangle free", got a texlax, and lost most of my length from the subsequent breakage. I'm was so mad at myself for not appreciating my hair as it was. I'm going back to this regimen, no more perms, and will love my hair for how God intended. Thank you for the reality check. Subbed 👍

Thank you. I am white and learning to do my granddaughters hair. She is two and her mother wanted me to detangle the back and I ended up finger combing. She kept saying it hurt. You made me realize it doesn't have to and probably won't be tangle free.

Rachel Luciano Wow, an eye opener. I have barely had brows all of my life and guess what - My hair never grows past shoulder length. I have mostly 3c curly-coily hair type and around the edges of my front, sides and back are a fine 3b. The struggle is real and Now I don't have to struggle no more!

I have a friend with the same texture you described and she says the same thing about her length retention as well, that she can’t seem to get it past her shoulders and she’s been natural her entire life. I think her hair is beautiful as I’m sure yours is as well. It really does boil down to genetics when it comes to optimum length retention. Continue to enjoy your hair in whatever fashion you desire.
