Fixes Silhouette CAMEO 4 Not Cutting 99% of the Time..and if you're in the 1% where this doesn't fix it...try cleaning your blade 👉www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2020/02/silhouette-cameo-4-blade-not-cutting.html
OMG. I have been trying to cut for two days and nothing until I watched this video. I had no idea that the slot that holds the knife pulled out and pushed in. So my knife was not sitting in there right. What a dream it is now. Amazing. Thank you so much for the great tutorial and all the info. I was going crazy :)
Literally had the same problem! I put it on the most powerful settings just to get it to do more than scratch the surface and nothing! I was about ready to give up. But after finding this and seeing that I needed to push that front piece in... it cut perfectly! Thank goodness for this troubleshooting video 💕💖💓💓💝
I was about to throw out all of my equipment and give up on the mystery of why things work sometimes and other times not. I’m so glad your video came up first. I see the gap and will also implement all of your suggestions. Thank you!!!!!
I've been having problems with my silhouette not cutting HTV for a very long time and it's been frustrating (and wasteful). I've googled before and purchased new blades, etc but nothing worked. Your video is the first time I heard pressure of 14. It 100% worked! You gave me the solution I was looking for in two seconds, clearly and concisely. THANK YOU!! I was using a pressure of 6 and I had to rewind and re-listen to make sure I heard 14 correctly. Lol. No wonder I had so much trouble. 😅
So, I just received cameo 4 and was having a hell of a time with this. I didn't realize the dang blade head needed to be locked into place by sliding the black housing with the number 1 on it back toward the blade assy. . What an idiot. This video helped so thank you.
You are a doll Mellissa, I typed in why doesn’t my cameo 4 cut, after a dozen times unplugging, turning off and then when I ask for help your beautiful face popped up, THANK YOU SWEETIE, yep I’m old and from the south LOL, God bless you, take care
I love your videos. So helpful. Sadly, I've done all these things and its still not cutting. it moves around but dosnt make any marks. I did one project then started on another and it just randomly stopped
Hello Melissa, the problem I’m having is at the beginning of a cut it doesn’t cut the first letter or image completely. I have put a new strip on and I am getting the same results. What else can I try.
I'm having that same problem. My machine won't cut anything in the first inch of the vinyl, but cuts fine from 2 inches to 12 inches. So I've been moving my design and vinyl over just past the 2nd inch mark. I wonder what's going on!
Help! I'm trying to cut rhinestone template on dollar tree glitter vinyl on 65lb cardstock. I use blade depth 7 and source 28 2 pass. It's cutting like 80 percent. It's not cutting the whole circle so I'm having to punch out each individual circles
I have my autoblade in correctly, cut lines are out to send and it's correct blade, force and speed. It was cutting fine until after I did a much higher blade number and force on different lb card stock. Now it can't even cut through 65 lb card stock. Is the blade dull already? I haven't had it nor used it that much since getting it.
There could be something in or on the blade like paper dust from the cardstock. I would try to clean it. Make sure the blade is seated all the way in the carriage. Also make sure that the red line is moving when the auto blade is taping so that it's accurately adjusting the blade depth.
My silhouette is cutting very good on the left for about 6inches of my htv but the right 6 inches it fades out and wont cut it deep enough. I have the bar clamped down and rollers set right
I know this is an older video, but I just watched in hopes my issue was one that was addressed. Sadly, it's not. My machine is cutting the majority of the design but it randomly doesn't cut part of my design. This is a design I've cut many times before so I'm stumped as to why it is happening. As if that isn't enough, my blade is also cutting the HTV each time it goes across my design. So I'm getting random cut marks where I do not want them. Any help here is greatly appreciated!
I always set the force on mine to 33 when cutting vinyl, with a depth of 6, and 2 passes. I use the Auto-Blade. I am a newbie, so I am still experimenting.
Hi there! You shouldn't need that deep of cut settings for vinyl. I'd make sure that there are no gaps between your blade and the housing like I show in this video.
Still so frustrated, I wanted to try chipboard but decided to try to cut regular cardstock. Nothing fancy, just plain cardstock. I know my blade is seated correctly. I even tried to set the blade at a 6 and force to 30, and none of the tests are cutting through. Maybe the auto blade is not my friend.
Hey there! Is your autoblade clicking and is the red line moving when it's adjusting? You may want to try this little workaround: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2020/12/silhouette-cameo-autoblade-wont-cut-use.html
What about if you cutting blade won't reset itself to the right position? I turn my machine on and the cutting mechanism just keeps going across the machine. I didn't know how to explain it. I updated the machine and it immediately messed up my machine. I contacted the company and they said I'd have to send it in to get it fixed yet they wouldn't give me a price point. I'm so frustrated. My machine is only 2 years old, was less than that when it broke several months ago.
Hello 👋Thank you so much for posting this video. OMG I was ready to throw away my Cameo Pro 4 today!!! So I got it to cut but what settings do I need to cut through the sticker paper?
Hello.can i ask something about my cameo, my cameo when cutting, is the autoblade will like jumping resulting to not properly cut according to s letter o design that i was cutting but it still can cut.thank you..
thanks for the tips. I have an older cameo. it's the silhouette Cameo with one blade carrier. the problem I'm having is it does not do a complete cut at the beginning. what I sometimes do is tap the blade it that seems to help. I have change my cutting strip. I did increase the force. what else could it be?
New blade (loaded correctly & locked in place), lines on, and force correct (even tried all the way to 33)... It's cutting but not correctly. If I increase the depth, it goes through onto the mat. Yet, it still won't cut enough to weed it without basically ripping out the pieces and leaving bacon edges from pulling. The little spring rollers are springing. The bar is correct. I've tried 3 different HTV from different companies. What the heck could it be?!
I have a cameo 4 machine. Depth 2 force 33 started cutting the sticker paper that I cut, depth 1 force 33. I wonder why this force setting was broken? can you help me?

I'm my machine randomly stopped cutting through. I make die cut stickers. I've tried everything from getting a 2mm blade to using force 33 with full blade depth and it still can't cut through

You just saved me from throwing my cameo 4 out the window. I have had it almost a year and sadly have never used it to actually do projects with because i was afraid of how LOUD it was that it was broken but then it wasn't cutting all the way through until NOW. I just had to do like you said and put it at 14!! Is it supposed to be loud when cutting? I've been a cricut girl for 4 years and its a LOT quitter than my Cameo 4.
I have checked all three things and even checked to see if the blade was fouled (Auto-Blade on Cameo 4) on a brand-new machine. I am trying to cut a stencil with .005 in Drafting Vellum. the recommended settings do not even produce a scoreline. What am I doing wrong?
Messed with the STUPID blade 1,000 times on my new cameo 4 - watched your video - okay, one more try... got on my knees with a flashlight... ohhhh there's a tiny gap... LOL! Then it worked! Thanks!!!
I've been using Silhouette since it's inception. If you can believe it, I just replaced the first version in 2023. I've been using Cameo 4 for appx one year. I'm beyond frustrated right now. I've finished watching your video and have done all the things above and it still says "cutting complete" and nothing has happened. I did all of the steps in your video except reinstalling as I'm not good about doing this as I don't quite understand it and always have issues post. I feel like I need to do a partial clean install but am hoping there is something else I can do. Thanks
My machine cuts but it’s not cutting edge pieces. It’s as if some parts of the image are outside of cut lines but it’s not like I cut a large word mother and half the M did not cut. Idk why
My cameo 4 doesn’t cut-- the cut blade is seated but I have an autoblade. It seems to me to be a software problem. Ive been using cricut and Silhouette for 20 years now and im about done forever! The blade is in correctly, its set on cut, and it simply doesn't cut! Drives me bat$hit crazy. Doesn’t matter if its paper or vinyl it doesn't cut and there seems to be zero help from Silhouette at all! Thanks for your video but it doesn't help me! Maybe the autoblade is the problem, I have even had it cut something thats not on the screen! Had a cricut that used sircutsalot software until cricut decided to make it even more restricted and you can't use cricut expressions to cut off your computer eventhough theres a usb cord.

@@SilhouetteSchool I don't want to jinx myself but after I texted in frustration, I decided to do an update on my software and since then my cameo 4 has been working today. I also used your advice on the pressure settings, after I cut regular cardstock it wasn't cutting deep enough so instead of increasing cut depth I increased the pressure from 20 to 30. It's so weird in the past I'll cut something it doesn't cut, so I'll unload the cutting mat, and reload and then it cuts the second time. Yesterday it was not cutting at all, despite restarting my computer or turning off my cameo and turning it back on again-- the cutting blade was slamming into the side well off the cutting mat-- it was crazy. So that led me to think I was having a software issue, and so far so good the update worked! Thanks so much for your quick response, I will definitely email you with pictures and more information when this happens again. For like a year it was not cutting the first time, but cutting the second time-- same exact settings. But yesterday it wasn't cutting at all no matter how many times I restarted my computer and my Cameo 4.

Hi You, Yes, it works, Blade Settings could be 3, if it doesnt work try more than that, Force is supposed to be 14 as mentioned in the Video, Speed can vary from 5-7 depending on your preferences, Passes are usually 1. Dont forget to turn it on Auto-Cut! Have a nice Day!
I've been using my cameo 4 for a while and recently it's started missing bits of the cut say I'm cutting writing it might cut all of it but not quite finish the last letter by not joing up any idea what I should check Many thanks

Mine stopped working and I haven’t used it for a year or more.. I’m suppose to send it to silhouette to get it fixed.. but I got to pay $100… it’s still sitting in my basement, wish I had a second cameo 3.. that one is good
Hi, I’ve been having troubles with my blade. Did everything. I haven’t changed my blade since I bought my cameo. It’s been 2 years. Should I change the blade. The depth of the cuts are not too deep. Hopefully I made sense with my question, thank you in advance 🤞🏽🙏🏽

bro can you help me ! my kraft blade is not getting detected i ve tried installing multiple softwares and installed new kraft blades too its just not detecting ...pls HELP!
I just cut a template out for a 16oz tumblers, image is 6x9 and there's a section the size of a golf ball on the left side of the image that barely cut! I weeded all the image before I got to the section that barely has an etch. Why is it a section doesn't cut, but 90% of the file does cut?
Hi there! I would make sure that there is no gap between your blade and the housing. Check out the 4th picture in this blog post: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2019/11/silhouette-cameo-4-autoblade-wont-cut-5.html
Hi, watched the entire video and I will say on my Cameo 4, pushed it down all the way and it does not click in place. When it taps it unattaches. Basically, it doesn't click in place at all.

I read somewhere that a blue dot is visible if your blade is installed correctly. My cameo 4 is a pink machine. Is it possible that my dot is a different color? I’m having trouble getting it to cut, but my dot never turns blue. Thanks for your help! Love and friendship from South Carolina XOXO
Are there other reasons why my machine wont cut? It is only scoring the paper. I have tried all the suggestions and it does not change anything. Thank you.

I’ve tried multiple settings for glitter on my 4 plus but no luck cutting it. I can’t even cut stickers! I’ve only tried this with my auto blade since that’s all that came with my machine.

Hello Melissa I have a question my cameo 4 starts cutting but a few seconds later it stops and gets freeze so when that happens I cannot take out the mat and basically not do anything at all I chat with the experts I guess and they made me follow some steps but none of those worked so I dont know what else can I do.
My auto blade has been cutting too deep and the print & cut won’t cut correctly. I can only use my 4 for heavy cardstock, which I don’t really use anymore. So it’s just sits there. My Cameo 3 is what I solely use and is my champ. I’m about to get rid of the 4 as I don’t know what else to try and has been useless for the last 2 years. 🥺

My cameo 4 doesn’t finish cutting. It just cuts halfway 😢 i already tried buying a new blade, cleaned and removed debris from previous projects, did the resetting, properly inserted the blade, double checked the objects to cut, but still…. It doesn’t finish cutting, it just moves around, while the blade isn’t pinned down.. i am so confused. I couldn’t find any more posts having the same issue.. i hope you could help me.

I am ready to toss my new machine! I have an older cameo, and have no real issues. I thought the 4 would be good for auto settings and you're right, I can't get them to work!!! I've watched this video 3 times, my blade is deep enough/the machine cuts, just can't get them to weed, i've tried 14 force, I've tried different settings of material just to test. they all seem to print the same? no matter what i use, cuts, but can't weed it, not cut enough. HELP. Can I send a picture? Video?

So mine is doing both.. On one side it’s cutting all the way through an on the other side it’s not cutting @ all.. I have no idea what’s going on.. Plz help

Are use a force of four and it cuts perfectly fine 14 hat me wasting all of my vinyl. I use a force of for my auto blade at three and I use two phases cuts it perfectly fine. And I actually found those settings on the vinyl box that I purchased. I put my force out of 14 as you said and I waste like 7 feet of vinyl. Just fyi. But today I’m here because the back of my cameo is not cutting the paper not the actual blade but the razor on the back

We just bought a cameo 4 pro and let me tell you, I am so highly disappointed with this pile of junk. It doesn't track right while cutting, we have done all 3 of your recommended things on this video and still doesn't cut right. On top of that the Bluetooth will disconnect mid cut ruining the vinyl that is being cut. I can't even believe that I can't just pick up the phone and call someone because they prefer to do things through email. If I ran my business the way silhouette runs theirs I wouldn't have a business. I'm going to send this huge disappointing machine back and go back to my Cameo 3. At least it still works and gives me zero problems!!!!!!

No there should not be a gap on either carriage.
HTV needs a 14 what does glitter cardstock cut on?
Thank you for all these videos. It has helped me sooo much!

That's great!! Thank you
Should blade depth be on 2 or 3 in the "SEND" area? and 2. What is the autoblade set to (when u press down on it the red line moves to a number)?

I don't have the ratchet blade setting. Only manual blade 1mm or manual blade 2mm, and yes, the number moves before it cuts
What about if you cutting blade won't reset itself to the right position? I turn my machine on and the cutting mechanism just keeps going across the machine. I didn't know how to explain it. My cameo 4 keeps going into Card Stock settings ( I only cut vinyl) how do I make it stay in Glossy vinyl settings.
There's not a way to pick a default material unfortunately
I didn't have my blade in the carriage correctly. Thanks!
Hello. My Cameo 4 device is 1 mm
It cuts to the right. What do you suggest I do?
I would suggest you try to calibrate it www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2021/06/how-to-calibrate-silhouette-cameo.html
@@SilhouetteSchool Thank you very much
How do you get force 14? mine only goes to 10 that I can tell...on cameo 4
Hey there, you can go way higher than 10. Are you using an older version of the software?

Thanks those 3 fixes made the difference ❤❤❤Thanks again 💯
Glad to hear!
@@SilhouetteSchool I have another issue printing or maybe it's tracing?
I have checked all three things and even checked to see if the blade was fouled (Auto-Blade on Cameo 4) on a brand-new machine. I am trying to cut a stencil with .005 in Drafting Vellum. the recommended settings do not even produce a scoreline. What am I doing wrong?
Messed with the STUPID blade 1,000 times on my new cameo 4 - watched your video - okay, one more try... got on my knees with a flashlight... ohhhh there's a tiny gap... LOL! Then it worked! Thanks!!!
Glad it helped!
Shalom...you got flash light for your cameo?...I'm having that problem
Idk why
Thanks I'll will make these changes

My machine when cutting felt (2) rotary blade the machine is not feeding the media through it just cuts constantly through the beginning

In cameo 4 Can I cut polymeric vinyl ??
What settings i have put like blad depth ?? Force ?? Speed ?? Passes ??
Please help
Hi You, Yes, it works, Blade Settings could be 3, if it doesnt work try more than that, Force is supposed to be 14 as mentioned in the Video, Speed can vary from 5-7 depending on your preferences, Passes are usually 1. Dont forget to turn it on Auto-Cut! Have a nice Day!
I've been using my cameo 4 for a while and recently it's started missing bits of the cut say I'm cutting writing it might cut all of it but not quite finish the last letter by not joing up any idea what I should check
Many thanks

I just cut a template out for a 16oz tumblers, image is 6x9 and there's a section the size of a golf ball on the left side of the image that barely cut! I weeded all the image before I got to the section that barely has an etch. Why is it a section doesn't cut, but 90% of the file does cut?

I read somewhere that a blue dot is visible if your blade is installed correctly. My cameo 4 is a pink machine. Is it possible that my dot is a different color? I’m having trouble getting it to cut, but my dot never turns blue. Thanks for your help! Love and friendship from South Carolina XOXO
Unfortunately the dot appears as long as the lock is engaged, but the lock can be engaged and the tool not installed correctly or fully.
Are there other reasons why my machine wont cut? It is only scoring the paper. I have tried all the suggestions and it does not change anything. Thank you.

And I actually found those settings on the vinyl box that I purchased. I put my force out of 14 as you said and I waste like 7 feet of vinyl. Just fyi. But today I’m here because the back of my cameo is not cutting the paper not the actual blade but the razor on the back

You’re right it should be ‘idiot’ proof by having the cutter clamped DOWNWARDS to avoid a gap. Bad design.
I 100% agree...it is a poor design to allow for the amount of human error that it does.
My cameo 4 not cutting
Hey there! Check out this blog post for extra troubleshooting: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2019/11/silhouette-cameo-4-autoblade-wont-cut-5.html
I''m not a fan of the CAMEO Pro either.
Why not even show what you're talking about?
