I'm a free user or DaVinci so do't have a clean feed option, but even without it your video is the most helpful to make the most out of my screen real estate! The majority of other videos show 1 or 2 options, so to have a play with different screen layouts, as per your tips, helps immensely!
This is good. I really love the dual screen set up and with a third monitor over head, I now have a nice big dedicated display at all times. Display mission accomplished
@JasonRobertsVideo do you have a video on the Editor Keyboard? I'm looking for a key by key walk through. Or I was thinking about making a video on that.
I don't have the option 'video clean feed'! Would they have gotten rid of it in the past 2 months? Surely there's a way to still put only the playback on a second monitor? Update: I see from the comments it only appears to be on the paid version. It took me a while to figure it out because no one has mentioned it in the 5 other videos I watched 😅 You're the only one that's replying to comments so still much appreciated!
@@thomaswindfeld728 Hello friend, im from Argentina, maybe my english is not to good but you need to turn off the Dual Screen, and work only with 1 monitor, then you can use the "clean feed"
Thank you for such a brilliant video. Is it possible to use a TV as a clean feed? If so,could you possibly give us some idea as to how to do that setup? Many thanks.
I haven't tried but if your graphics card had HDMI output you could connect that to a TV probably :) :) I actually want to get a TV like and LG C3 and do this exact same thing :) :)
Thanks for the helpful video. Are your external monitors all connected via your computer and its graphics card or do you have your reference monitor connected via BMD hardware? I heard somewhere that for true clean reference video you need to bypass the graphics card and use a dedicated BMD output device.
Thanks :) I have my calibrated monitor (the top one) connect to my graphics card. You can use BMD hardware to connect monitor to and bypass the graphics card for the ultimate setup but if you are not doing professional grading for broadcast then you shouldn't feel like you cant get good results without a BMD card - just make sure your reference monitor is color calibrated / and same gamma as you are outputting in your project. I would like to get a BMD card for my PC at some point but not right now :) :)
Cool video. What is your ultrawide display model? It appears to be HD, which I think is ideal for such setup. Too large and your clean video display will go way to high for comfort.
You can also set custom keyboard shortcuts for (some/all) of those screen swapping menu items. What I have been trying to figure out is how much GPU drain there is when adding extra monitors (especially if they are all 4k), and do the extra enabled monitors slow down rendering (or even editing) AND if monitors do impact editing and rendering, can I do much to minimize that? I use high end laptops with dual GPUs (Intel [laptop screen] & Nvidia 4090 [out via HDMI and TB4]) and wonder if there is an optimal usage pattern for these (e.g. Nvidia for ALL monitors or allow Intel to be used in conjunction [and if Intel is used on a single monitor and then I swap the workspace screens around, will that change performance? Sorry, your video reminded me of all these things I have been wondering, perhaps a future video? Thank you.
Hi Jason, thanks for this! Using two screens on the free version, can I adjust the UI on color page to get the viewer and scopes on one monitor and the tool layout + nodes on the other?
I have a new M4 MacBook Pro. It’s connected to a new Apple studio display. I have studio edition of da Vinci resolve. I go to workspace, dual monitor, and the option to turn it on is grayed out. I have no idea how to get to a dual monitor set up.
Strangest thing. I've got paid version. Dual screen worked fine then suddenly I can't get the clean feed on my 2nd monitor anymore. It's all controls and I can't figure out how to switch it back. And sometimes my dual screen "on" button is shaded and doesn't work. Wtf?
Crazy, I use Da Vinci Resolve 19 and the menu's are different. I can change the 2 monitors to choose which one is primary, but the video clean feed option is not there. And I can't change the dual screen mode. It stays grayed "on". So for me it is not possible to use 2 monitors to get the space I need.... I can just switch between them. Do you have an idea what that can be?
It is as if you are on a completely different system. I am on a paid version 18.6 and all the things mentioned in the workspace menu I don't have. primary display option, full screen window, Clean feed, full screen timeline etc
@@JasonRobertsVideo I have two. One 32 inchbenq and a Samsung ultra wide curved. Running on Mac M1 MacBook Pro max. Do you know in which version this was introduced?? Thank you for your time 😊
Very strange - the features have been around for a while and definitely not new to v19. I would ask a question on the forum forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewforum.php?f=21&sid=490078825e481e40dcf86a932c9ce387
The problem started if you have more than two. They not consider that someone can have 3+ displays 🤣😭 in genaral it's dumb that (at least not all) windows cannot be deattached to normal floating windows to move in any place. As well with vertical portrait mode there is some issues. Kind of surprising that over decade they can not make that right, not a "rocket science"
Might they updated something recently, I need to check, before was not good, but any windows deattachment to floating window existed for decades in other software like Maya or Houdini
Yes it would be nice to have fully customizable floating windows for some setups but I haven't found it that bad for normal everyday work - it's certainly simpler! :) :)

It's not in the free version I don't think otherwise it should be there! :) :)
im on the studio version, however i can't make "video clean feed" on the color grading tab. Only Editing tab works for me.. Any solutions?
If you set it in the edit page it will still work in the color page :) :)
Video clean feed is not an option on my Davinci, is this for studio paid version only? Or is it in free as well?
I use the paid Studio version.

Resolve 19 is currently beta software which means there may (probably are) bugs in it, also not all features are available in the free versions.
