Thank you for mentioning the texting aspect. I ALWAYS notify the customer if the trip is going to be multiple pickups and drop offs because when I was a customer for years and I would watch the drivers going every direction except my home and I didn't figure out that they were picking up other orders until I saw the app from the other side. If you simply explain to the customer that you have multiple stops to make or that their order is being delayed, they will see your effort. Take a page out of the corporate email bible and ALWAYS end your messages with "Thank you!" - emails that end in "thank you" are 50% more likely to get a response. If a customer hands you a tiny cash tip at the drop do NOT look disappointed. Say Thank you emphatically and show them that it means something to you (even if the amount is insulting) I have had cash tippers ADD ON additional tip in the app after the drop off just because I was grateful and made it seem like they were really helping me out. You gotta stroke their egos a little and make them feel like they are a good person because when they get that little hit of dopamine they will want to show you how great a person they are 😂 it's all psychology. If they have a funny statue or decoration in their yard or on their door tell them how cool it is. 😎 you gotta engratiate yourself with them every way you can.
I can't stress enough how texting your customer after picking up their food has lead to a increase in tips for me. It takes all of 30 seconds and I personalize it by using their name.Believe it or not people like this personal touch.
Not true it all depends on the customer n how aware they are about our pay of course be polite etc.. But thats not a solution for a add on tip from them they dont care n are clueless
As the owner of an independent pizzeria with a delivery staff, and who also just recently started using Uber Eats for out of our area deliveries, I have to tell you that this is all fantastic advice!! Not only do these suggestions help the driver get better tips, it helps the restaurants you're delivering for as well. We could have the best pizza in our area but one not so great experience with the delivery person could potentially keep that customer from ordering from us again. So thank you for making this video!!
Customers are thinking about their food and just want to eat. They pay for the food to be delivered quickly and professionally. They don't want someone who is emotional, chatty and bubbly because emotional people can be unstable.
I enjoy driving for UBerEats because not only it’s fun but I feel safe having that feature that your family can track your whereabouts and the customers can track when their food left the restaurant and when we are arriving to their house. Having delivery bags are really helpful and a must. I got complimented by a restaurant, and the customers like that too. This video is really helpful and you gained a subscriber.
I provide a small bag of 2-5 mints with a personal note that includes the customer’s name. 2) Communicate through the app any changes to their order. 3) I communicate that “I am on my way” upon picking up the order. 4) When handing items over to the customer, I address them by name and try to compliment the person in some way. (I.e “I like your name” or “beautiful home” or “Thank you for the detailed instructions to find your home” 5) I send a note via the app thanking the customer for the order and a smiley face. My tips are over half my base pay.
I've been an Uber driver for about a year and I love delivering for ubereats...this was probably one of the best videos I seen anybody post about the subject. Thanks for the information.
I also use pre-typed messages but always as I start the trip (your order is on its way, thanks for waiting and for using uber eats). Just in case they have been waiting already or it took a while in the restaurant. I'm just not very personable, sometimes socially awkward but polite and courteous. I just don't know what else they expect besides an efficient informed delivery.
I'm a rideshare driver but have never done Ubereats. This is the best video on it I have seen thus far--especially the advice of texting to get a tip. And as for that Uber chime at 1:45, I both love and hate the sound of it. Every Driver knows what I mean.
Thank you for the compliment. Doing uber eats is sometimes a nice break from passenger rides. Yes I completely understand the love/hate on the uber chime😂 Have a great day.
I have been so nervous about signing up for uber eats but this video has made me less nervous. Thank you for the detail and the helpful hints. So far all your videos have been super helpful. Thank you for posting them and please keep them coming.
Don't be nervous it is really very simple just make sure you are professional and you will be just fine. Let me know if I can be of any assistance to you.
Good luck on your first delivery. I recommend telling the person it's your first one and ask them if there was anything you could have done better. You might be surprised at the results.
I’m looking into working for uber eats and your video was super helpful to learn how to work smarter and not harder to make the most $$. thanks for your advice!!
Excellent advice, if I could just add one thing: take advantage of every opportunity to address the customer by their name; example: I am on my way JANE! Traffic is heavy, I may arrive a little late JOHN. It personalizes the transaction, customers appreciate it when you use their name.
I have changed it up since I uploaded this video and now say " Hello Jane, I have picked up your order and am on my way" I have found that it is way more personal. Good minds think alike.
I have been ubering for almost 2 years. Tips are the biggest income. Your points are great. I sit in a Fred Meyer parking lot that is in the middle of a lot of restaurants. I've tried waiting elsewhere with not nearly as much success. Dress well! I do this because I wouldn't want my food delivered by someone with bad hygiene! Clean up your car also. Be polite and say something (sincerely) like "have a good day!". If there is a dog or kid, mention that they are adorable, if appropriate. Don't deliver in a car that has been smoked in. Hot and cool bags are essential! I have well over 1,000 runs (very part-time) with a 100% customer satisfaction rating. And remember- tips are where the $$$ is!
YES! There are so many people that sign up and do not follow your advice then quit and tell me that it is a waste of time. If you treat it like a job and maintain professionalism you can do very well. You gotta play the game though, be smart with where you place yourself and drive at the right times.
UBER Eats should pay drivers for the trip to the restaurant and a minimum tip should be included as part of the fee for the service. I tip 'em all...personality or not...I'm not paying to be entertained I'm paying for a delivery service.
I could not agree more we should be paid for all driving we do after trips are accepted...the point I am trying to make is you will win with tips more if you are nice and show kindness vs acting like you are annoyed that you have to make the delivery.
They won't. Your suggestions don't help. If drivers were paid what they ought to be; and your entitled millennial ass had to pay a *minimum* $15 for your simple McDonalds meal, would you *still* order takeout? No! Delivery services have always relied on the poor, unemployed, underemployed, and illegal immigrants to do their slave labor work. The *only* reason they *can* do this is because of rich or lazy people who can't be bothered to make a meal.
Thank you for this video.once i had a truck i was doing money via Easymove app by moving peoples item.A day could make $500, but got tired and solf my truck. Now with my toyota camry i so uber, doordash and recently signed with MurmurCars to make money by driving and advertising on my car. Loved this gig. They just pay me to advertise on my car while i am doong Uber and Doordash. Highly recommend to combine your gig with MurmurCars and get paid for advertising.
Hey Jason thanks man for the "tip" for more tips. I made £20 or $26in tips in my 1st 2 days of being an Uber eats driver in the UK! Just with your card and tic tac idea, WoW! The hotel tictac pillow bags cost £9.99 for 100 X 4 in a pack from eBay, just like yours and I got a 100 almost free cards printed for just £2.85, I've run out of tic-tacs so I'll order some more. Just like you said the trick to this is you have to get them excited about tipping! It WORKS!!!
You is right about that on communication with customer! I been sending text messages before I leave restaurant.. Great video! I just subscribed to you !
I'm not sure how I missed this comment. I've changed it up a little bit since I released this video and simply say "Hello (there name), I have picked up your order and am on my way."
I have ordered Uber Eats, let's say about 30 times over the last year I have only received one text post delivery. I had already tipped her already and it was the second time I had her for a delivery person. She was the bomb. Wish I could have her every time. On the other hand I had one horrible guy yelling at me about the entrance to my complex. He got lost despite my detailed instructions and was talking loudly over me as I was trying to help him. I did tip him despite, just a smaller amount. I am such an empath......it's tough out here.
I wish there was a way to get specific customers as well. Apartment complexes can be really rough and I always praise the customer who gives detailed instructions on finding their place.
Very informative, I will now implement more texting from here on out. I've gotten many tips by showing that I care about the food through the use of insulated bags, and if it's hot out have the AC on in front of the drinks.
Here's an update on the tips. I made over 40$ in tips last week, ending my week with over 250$ in pay, this week so far I have 51$ in tips! Man, from just one trip earlier today, with surge, I got a 10$ tip!!! So far I have a bit over 97$ for today's work out in the road! I say so far cause people tend to tip later over instant
I have just registered for uber eat here in the UK, document pending approval, I'm glad I watched this video and I'm looking forward to it , I will remember your advice . Thanks again
Soul man Hi bro ! Just a quick question, how much did you have to pay for your food delivery insurance in the UK ? I know that for a fact when you deliver parcels for big companies such as amazon, herms etc you can get daily insurance as you work part time but how is it in Uber eats ?
First of all, you never wait in line. You go to the front right away and inform them you are picking up the Uber Eats. Other than that, pretty helpful.
Yes this is true most of the restaurants have a staging area for uber eats and the more you are in the restaurant the more the employees will recognize you as well. The waiting game is usually due to the order not being ready.
What you are they talking may be practical in your place of origin. But not in Africa.Especially in Kenya where most restaurants are distant than drop up lacations.you probably encounter a harsh client. Most of them position themselves on top of building and compells the driver to drop it there. On the other side you have left the bike outside where is less secure. When you raise the matter as driver no communication from Uber. But when the restaurant or the eater calls they take a swift action and go further to call you direct.Uber is seemed to be biased not realistic in there operations. Thanks
I drive for postmates and doordash and never text people unless I have an issue, and my tips are usually 10-15 bucks cause Im fast and accurate! I dont waste time texting people, I just drive and get there asap with HOT food fast!
These things may be correct in your market but not every market. Like for McDonald's we have separate areas we go to and say we are there to pick up UberEats and also it dings McDonald's when we arrive letting them know we are there here. So we do not have to wait in line. Most times the order is ready for us when we walk in or just a few minutes after we do here. You are so right about seeing the customer side of things too. It does help to even just explain what they may have questions about. Instead of saying well I am not a customer so I do not know to them. I agree with you in being professional. There are some drivers out there who think just because they have a job with a little freedom as an independent contractor that they can do what they want and throw customer service out the window. I enjoyed the video and gave you a thumbs up as well plus you gave a lot of helpful info too. Have an amazing blessed day!
You are correct. The restaurants do get a notification and most of the time you can just walk right up to the counter and let them know. The other thing that helps is that they have your picture on the screen so they can see that you are there.
Ok bud lol for that dont write anything ive done and delivered the proper way ive personalized and communicated when picking up food people will still complain no matter what my pick up and drop off for 2 1/2 months alone was 5000 pick ups and drop off so put that talent to good use and stop trying to be mr. Asshole
@@Key_low_TV I live in NYC some places I go too in houses and some are buildings do I have to go upstairs? The parking is not easy for me, plus for my safetyI feel like I don't want to go upstairs
I would recomend using electrical bike. Work in a small high income town. The town I usually work in has everything is within 3-10 min no more than 4 miles away I get tips 90% of the time. Clean your hands before and after you touch the food. Make sure costumers and restraunt employees see that you cleaned your hands and have gloves on. Never touch your face or mask while handling food. If you work in a small town you will know every costumers name and address in a couple weeks. 90% of the time its the same people .I dont even look at gps while delivering because alredy know the costumers. You will get tips most of the time this way.
Your video was the best ! I’m a Uber eats deliver on bike . I’ve received 6$ in tips in total from all customers yesterday but now I know more strategies thank you !
I've been upset at ubereats ... I signed up a year ago I had 1.5-1.8 boosts & in my suburban area. It really paid off, plus I was getting over 50% tips.... but a month ago they took away all boosts & most quests! I have a 100% rating too. 😡 I feel like ubereats doesn't care about their drivers. Anyway, your video was extremely helpful & gave me really helpful advice I'll try next time I go out. I like delivering food much more than people :) New subscriber here!!!
Cristi G yes so when I started for about a month there was plenty of boosts. As of the beginning of this week no boosts. I usually work the same hours with Uber It’s so frustrating.
@@doctronfour9060 I know that they give new drivers some extras as my sister signed up and she got some boosts that I don't get. I have learned to adapt with the changes and have found that the more I drive the better I get and the more money I make. Have a great day.
Am thinking seriously on signing up, just to make a little extra cash in my retirement. This video is excellent, all very much common sense but simple enough pointers and very clearly explained to make this an enjoyable and successful venture. Thankyou, will take all this on board. Keen to get up and running.
yeah fuck tipping, no one tips me for working a much harder job for just as little pay (when i actually had a hard job that is), never understood why i should tip one specific job but no one else gets that priviledge, very wierd IMO
solo o Maybe he isn’t in a culture where tipping is the usual. In Australia no one does, because why should I have to tip good service, that’s just something that should be mandatory.
Also, don't take double orders!!! They don't pay double pick-up fees even though you get two orders and the customer pays a pickup fee. They are a waste of gas especially if they are within 2 miles and both apartment buildings. I never get tipped on double orders Because the customer has to wait if the first person is late answering a door or is not there.
The key to winning at double pickups is communication. Your best chance at making everyone happy is letting the 2nd customer know you are moving as fast as possible. Because you are already at the restaurant picking up the first order you only get one $1 pickup fee. You do get double drop off fees as well as your mileage and time fees for the total mileage and time. I have actually been pretty successful with getting tips on double orders but you definantly have to work at it.
What I do to speed up the process of making the delivery is, I press the notify customer option in the app before I get out the car sometimes I do it if I am a minute away. By doing this the clock starts counting down to when you can cancel on the delivery and usually by the time I get to the door the customer is usually at the door.
I do uber eats in New Zealand and there is not tipping culture here so never ever got a single dollar tip. But I am planning to to try your message thing from today..maybe I will get something.. because there are not much Uber deliveries here and it's hard to even get some deliveries. There are no free parking space in the Auckland CBD it's too hard to deliver through car there and I drive outside of main city and there are less orders some times I spend hours without orders when I started.
Thank you for this video. You gave some very good information. Most of the videos are about how much I made, unlike yours on how to make more. I subscribed, looking forward to watching more of your videos
I once picked up an order at Boston Market.I was on time, but the order for the customer wasn't. They marked the order as being ready 10 minutes earlier than it was.I definitely told the customer about it
I’ve had 99.9% of shitty Uber eats drivers. I still tip (because I have morals to an extent), but that presentable .01% that we do get, I’m happy to leave them with a tip, and it encourages me to tip the drivers. I recently got laid off from local 66 for a month and want to give this a shot for supplemental income aside from unemployment. Thanks for the video.
I saw "Eagle ID" on the GPS. We are just S. of you a couple miles. My wife and I are considering getting into this. Thank you very much for your insights.
I lived in Meridian for about 10 years. I am now in Florida. If you are wanting to do uber eats a good spot to sit to get orders in in the Albertsons parking lot across from the village. There are alot of good restaurants in that area.
I was delivering with Uber Eats last night and ended up in downtown where ppl were drunk and trying to open my car to sit it. It was a scary experience LOL. The one merchant that RUINS my flow of income is "Mc.Donalds", I have to wait 32 minutes per order cause after 11pm the doors are closed and I can only do drive through deliveries, with only 10 cars ahead of me. Its so exasperating, and i cant stop complaining about it!
Yes McDonald's can be frustrating for sure. I usually walk in and go right up and tell them I'm there. Drive through can be quicker or slower depending on the time of day. I too have had people come and open my car door when I'm not even online.
0:19 - only paid from restaurant 2 customer's home. 0:36 - customer ordered from closest restaurant from them. 1:47 - accept or deny order 5:18 - delivery bag 2 keep things hot or cooler 2 keep things cold.
Intelligently done and I subscribed. Since we're ruled independent contractors by the courts I have decided to add Uber eats to doing GH and DD. I need a strong food service provider for the mornings to get to 700.00 a week. I hope with McDondald's delivery that will happen.
Also, as a customer i will tip a lot more if the driver actually listens to the notes. My auto note says “please deliver to Nordstrom west entrance. Next to urban outfitters” it drives me crazy when drivers call me from Macy’s saying they are here.
This was really helpful and answered a couple questions I didn't know I had. I searched to find more info on how to use the booking fees and time allotted from the restaurants on the customer app. I saw another video about this but I still don't understand how it works. There seems to be a way to use this info on the customer app to determine short or long trips. Do you know how that works? If you do, can you do a video on it? (Or if you have a video on it, can you link it?) You explain things really well. Thanks
You are *absolutely right* and it's only slightly better with Doordash! I find the average Uber delivery distance *to the restaurant* is about 5 miles and Doordash even more: about 6 or even 7 miles (Doordash pays a little more but not much) so, it all comes down to the average trip cost. Profitability equals average revenue less average trip cost and should include depreciation, insurance, taxes, (imagined) salary, maintenance, and unexpected costs (construction and other delays, failed trips or repeats, etc). Uber, Lyft, Skip, Doordash and other firms have clearly thought out their strategy long ago. From what I can see, my average profit is negative after all real costs are included. This is why the average rideshare or delivery driver will find out that, after their vehicle is ruined through wear and tear and needs either a major repair or replacement: or they have even a minor accident, they actually have no job and, their actual salary is only $3 - $4 an hour if that. Serious. I'm dead serious. Twelve hours of driving for Uber Eats or Doordash and you are likely to earn $40-70 nett including tips. That's $800-1400 monthly after expenses. If that's worth it for your career or lifestyle, so you can avoid having to answer to an entitled millennial whore, slave at a desk with all the other fucking educated retards, or break rocks, then, by all means, help yourself and join the "race to the bottom"
I believe each market is different and each situation is different. I currently do this full time and I NEVER work a 12 hours shift I usually work 6-7 hours and will make $150-$200. I am also in a market that never runs bonuses and very rarely has surge/primetime. Don't get me wrong I work hard for my money but I have also gotten very creative with my strategy and am excelling and building it like a business. There is not a chance I would be doing this if I didn't make money doing it. I quit my full time management job to do rideshare. Have a great day.
When that happens the best thing to do is just call Uber and let them deal with it. I had a situation when I arrived at the restaurant the customer desided to come in and pick it up themselves.
I found that too. Now if the order is more than 3 miles and I'm not guaranteed 5+ I decline it. The next order you get may be a closer order. Good video for beginners though. But I recommend NOT driving if possible because there is no money in drive share or delivery app jobs. Good side job but nothing more. Dont expect to make a living driving for Uber or Lyft or any food delivery job. My two cents.
I left a 60k/year job and drive full time for Lyft and Uber on thier basic platforms. I treat it like a business and do very well because I don't just rely on the basic fairs but run about 50% tips and use it as a platform for other things.
@@Drivetowin13 Yes, but you're driving endlessly to make very little money. You must put at least 10-12 hours to really make descent money on Uber and Lyft. After expenses such as gas, wear and tear on vehicle, insurance, and food and water you're probably making 5 dollars an hour. Not to mention the time you're investing by driving the vehicle to make the money. As far as the tips concern, Not many people tip now days. Many of the UberEats users are the same rideshare Uber users and they don't normally tip. Let's face it, many of the rideshare users are melenials and this generation is more entitled so tipping is not a custom they have. Another issue that affects the tipping is that the customers is already paying a high premium to get the food delivered so they don't feel the need to tip since they are already paying for part of the delivery. One thing I've noticed is that the people that have you deliver to their door step in the most complex apartments rarely tip and the people that come to your car or meet you outside to get their food will tip. I drive 20 hours a week and I'll usually close the week with 10-20 dollars in tips which is nothing compare to the deliveries completed. So I don't believe that you can offset the losses with the tipping you can (pontentially) get because it's not guaranteed at all.
@@josorto9505 Yes there are business expenses that I have just like anything else. I set goals for myself and that is that I make at least $1 per mile that I drive total for the day and that I make at least $10/ride. I usually drive around 6 -8 hrs a day 5 days a week. Each market is different but I will tell you that I very rarely get promos or surge and I still make $150-$200/day with just my rides. It is definantly not for everyone but I am building it like a business and am very successful at it.
@@Drivetowin13 I don't consider Uber a personal business because it will never be owned by the drivers, that is unless you decided to buy stocks now that Uber is going public, but that's a subject for another conversation. We're independent contractors my friend. You only make money when you drive your own car. That's it! But, good luck to you on this business venture of yours.
@@josorto9505 Unfortunately if you treat it like you are just an independent contractor then that is all it will ever be. I don't just use Uber as my source of income but use Uber as a part of my income. The videos I make are to help people who are starting out to give them the basics of being successful.
@@bagamudo4502 Customer service is key, think outside the box, I usually give all my secret's to people who use my referral code but here is one for you, go inside the restaurant that is your most popular uber eats order location and ask for discount cards or coupons, once you get them start handing them out to customers who you feel might tip.
@@ChrisWilson-bu5qm That's not good let me try and help you with this. I was in the same boat when I started until I started thinking about it like a bar tender or waitress, what do they do to get tips? It's all about customer service and making sure the customer knows you are trying as hard as possible for them. Hear is what I did to turn it all around as I hand the food to the customer I say "I made sure they put napkins and straws in there for you." Or "Since you got a milk shake I made sure to keep my car as cold as possible so it didn't melt on you" saying these things are small and easy but it works. If they know you are trying they will reward you.
I'm pretty sure you missed the point. My point is people will find any reason not to tip so you as a driver need to do the extra to make people want to tip....if your waiter or waitress walked up and threw your food on the table and just walked away would you "want" to tip them?
@@alext7952 Haha I do this full time and a waiter is the closest comparison to what we are. I am just speaking from experience and I will say there are ways to male sure you are not getting a tip and not treating the person you are delivering to good is absolutely one of them.
Great video, but here at NY you can even buy a customer an ice cream from your own money, and still they will give you shit on tip! Super cheap uber eats customers
Been doing Postmates & DoorDash since the last 2 years ago & yes, most New Yorkers won't tip you even you did all the procedures. I gave up on 2 of these companies & pretty sure ubereats are pretty much the same.
They say customer service is key into getting top tips, not in NYC (at least In My Opinion). No one cares about how you perform in NYC & honestly, that's sad.
Go to Long Island. So much better and is easier to drive around than in the city. Is more friendly so people are more generous. One of my first orders there I made $15 in tip. The city is the worst place to do Uber eats.
I ordered from Uber Eats while I was considering driving for em. It took an hour from the time I ordered my food for it to get here. The order was cold and wrong. The driver was pleasant but seemed rushed. I'll never drive for Uber Eats in my area. My city is way to spread out to make any kind of money that way.
If you are at all considering driving for uber eats even in your spread out city I have a few thoughts for you that could be great for you. Email me at drivetowin13@gmail.com if you are interested.
Great video. Very detailed, but I cant believe you didn't tip your delivery driver.. I dont care if he threw the food at me. I would still tip him, We work in the same industry.. how could you not tip a bartender, server, or last on the list a uber driver.
Thank you for the compliment. I should have clarified in the video that the Uber eats interaction I had was before I was a driver. Anyone who knows me knows I am a big tipper. My point with mentioning that in the video was that people will find any reason they can to not tip so as a driver you need to find every reason possible to make them want to tip you. Have a great day
A tip is for good or outstanding service. It isn't necessarily a given. It has to be earned. I usually do tip, yes, but if the driver is not pleasant, etc. then no, he doesn't necessarily rate a tip .
I’m new and I was going by miles. Like I don’t want to go 5 miles for 2 dollars. I now get direction! My problem is some how O’m excepting anything over $10 dollars, but I put 101 miles on my car in 5 runs!!!!!!!!!
I just got hired by Uber Eats today. I've been working for Shipt since March 2019. Looking forward to adding this stream of income. Shipt customers rarely tip, even if you have a 5 star rating and go above and beyond. I will continue with Shipt while I'm doing Uber Eats, but I sure hope customers tip more regularly.
Here in Australia no one tips that's why it's $6.90 for pick up fee and $2.90 for drop off and 0.95c per klm but you don't get paid for how long it takes. But uber takes 30% so that $6.90 is mostly gone after they take there 30%.
communication is key when getting tips so is the restaurant bag and being professional been listening to other videos on other channels about Uber and I'm sick and tired of everyone bitching about Uber Uber Eats is awesome I come from the car business for 20 years and that was a job that you made 2 to $3,000 a week and now people are making 500 to a thousand if they're lucky so Uber drivers are making a car salesman make without being trapped I don't care if I have to work 12 hours a day it's better than being trapped at a dealership I don't even feel like I have a job I can turn it off when I want go do what I want to do with my family when I want be a birthday parties for a change be at holidays for a change I love Uber eats thank you very much
You are absolutely correct. So many people get into this business thinking they will work a few hours and make a ton of money and when they don't they complain about it. Uber,Lyft and uber eats will be as successful as you want it to be if you put the effort in. Professionalism and communication is absolutely key.
Never waited in line delivering for ubereats, a waste of time on a bicycle too, since the time to get there was the time they prepared the meal. I did have to wait for postmates, since, unfortunately the deliverers have to order the meal themselves.
That is correct you do not have to wait in line as a driver. Postmates does have an option to order the meals and pay with the card however 95 out of 100 deliveries are pre-paid
Thank-you for making & posting this video. It was very informative & professionally done. I really appreciate all the time and effort you took to produce this video. 🙏🏽 You’re awesome!! Love your channel’s content. Definitely subscribing!!!
I should have watched this video before I started yesterday because I couldn't figure out how to press start delivery and finally it took me a while but I figured it out to lress the square
Unless you’re in the drive through why would you wait in line? I would have been waiting half an hour after some concert nearby if I just waited in line. If the workers know you are there they usually try to get your food out quickly. Just make sure they know you are there.
Yes, there are times that I walk in and go directly to the front. The more and more you do it the more and more the employees start to recognize you and they automatically get it ready without you even asking.
Drivetowin 13, thanks so much for the tips! I've recently signed up with UberEats just to keep me afloat as I search for a job, and I was completely unsure of how things work since I'm new to it. I even kept the message to send to customers after deliveries has been done, haha. Hope that things will work as my account is on the waitlist based on what the Uber support says, and hopefully start on Monday. Fingers crossed! :)
ooo i didn't know about that. well, i figured that's how you guys got paid but i always went with the closest restaurant because i thought it was better for you guys. i'll know next time
Thank you for mentioning the texting aspect.
You are 100% correct, so much so that I pinned your comment.
Human nature
I can't stress enough how texting your customer after picking up their food has lead to a increase in tips for me. It takes all of 30 seconds and I personalize it by using their name.Believe it or not people like this personal touch.
That's great advice in adding their name.
What do you text them? That you got their food?
@@katethegreat91 I put what I text them in the video.
No. Doing too much. Personalize at drop off.
Thank you! If the driver is treating the customer right then everyone wins. The restaurants absolutely recognize the efforts as well.
Uber Eats should provide the bag.
I'm not sure how I missed this comment. Thank you! Are you still delivering?

I’m looking into working for uber eats and your video was super helpful to learn how to work smarter and not harder to make the most $$. thanks for your advice!!
I'm not sure how I missed this comment. Did you ever start?
Excellent advice, if I could just add one thing: take advantage of every opportunity to address the customer by their name; example: I am on my way JANE! Traffic is heavy, I may arrive a little late JOHN. It personalizes the transaction, customers appreciate it when you use their name.
I have changed it up since I uploaded this video and now say " Hello Jane, I have picked up your order and am on my way" I have found that it is way more personal. Good minds think alike.
Very professional indeed. The whole point is to show customer service and that is exactly what you do. That is amazing!
I'm not sure how I missed this comment. Thank you! Have a great day!
This stuff really helps me get not only tips, but bigger tips. Thank you so much man. I made 109.49$ yesterday on postmates.
My goal with this channel is to help everyone learn from the successes and mistakes I have made. I am happy to help
BobbyG, I could have not said it better myself. I 100% agree.
Everyone has a personality though
Thank you

I just signed up for Uber Eats and this was a very informative video, thank you 😊

It WORKS!!!
57 of my last 59 deliveries have tipped. It really does work
You is right about that on communication with customer!
@@Drivetowin13 yes, I'm the dream delivery! thanks for the videos.

Soul man Hi bro ! Just a quick question, how much did you have to pay for your food delivery insurance in the UK ? I know that for a fact when you deliver parcels for big companies such as amazon, herms etc you can get daily insurance as you work part time but how is it in Uber eats ?
I'm not sure how I missed this comment. Did you ever start doing it? If so how is it going?
Thanks
the Uber eats? ... or trough uber eats?
I drive for postmates and doordash and never text people unless I have an issue, and my tips are usually 10-15 bucks cause Im fast and accurate! I dont waste time texting people, I just drive and get there asap with HOT food fast!
That's great sounds like you do a good job.
I learned these things...it took alot of trial and error ... about 3 weeks to figure out my nitch
Yes it take a little bit of time to figure out what works best. I enjoy trying to figure it all out and different ways to make more money
Remember your your own boss until they deactivate your account 😆.
Why would they deactivate an account?
Ok bud lol for that dont write anything ive done and delivered the proper way ive personalized and communicated when picking up food people will still complain no matter what my pick up and drop off for 2 1/2 months alone was 5000 pick ups and drop off so put that talent to good use and stop trying to be mr. There are so many tricks to improve you as an ubereats driver.
@@enarush1 Not that I'm judging, but are you talking about the button that asks "Can't reach 'so-and-so?'"
Stephen Bassette yeah
@@enarush1 Oh gotcha, okay. I had to use that button today, but they came and took the order like 5 minutes later.
I do uber eats in New Zealand and there is not tipping culture here so never ever got a single dollar tip.
Thanks
You are very professional and your customer service skills are great. Success to you!
Thank you for the compliment I really appreciate it.
Great video man. Keep up the good work
Thank you Dustin!

@@Drivetowin13 Ill just call tomorrow and talk to someone before I do this thanks
Great explanation ! A few times i had my order picked up by another driver which it was a smack in the face
When that happens the best thing to do is just call Uber and let them deal with it. I had a situation when I arrived at the restaurant the customer desided to come in and pick it up themselves.
Drivetowin 13 for sure I’ll do that next time! Thank you 👍🏻
I found that too.
They took me off uber eats on two occasions. I'm very irate!!!
I’ve been getting some good tips on uber Eats
Let me know if I can be any help.
I guess no more tip because they are increasing the money that the customer pays..
I have not gotten over $2.00 as a tip
Yes thank you for these tips for Uber eats I’m also a driver for them these will help thank you very much
I'm not sure how I missed this comment. Are you still a driver?
You didn’t tip your driver because you didn’t “like” his personality. Oof this is a new one. 👌🏻
I'm pretty sure you missed the point. My point is people will find any reason not to tip so you as a driver need to do the extra to make people want to tip....if your waiter or waitress walked up and threw your food on the table and just walked away would you "want" to tip them?
@@Drivetowin13 dude they are a delivery driver not a waiter get over yourself
@@alext7952 Haha I do this full time and a waiter is the closest comparison to what we are. I am just speaking from experience and I will say there are ways to male sure you are not getting a tip and not treating the person you are delivering to good is absolutely one of them.
Now everyone can see how beautiful the skies are in Boise...
Yeah but don't tell anyone. :)
Drive to win 13 ...right!
Never understood why so many people bitch about driving around. Like you said, hangout by areas with a lot of restaurants during peak hours.
Thank you ! You gave me ideas and I feel less intimidated.
That's awesome! You got this, it's really not hard you just gotta do it.
Great video, but here at NY you can even buy a customer an ice cream from your own money, and still they will give you shit on tip! Super cheap uber eats customers
Exactly. Heartless nykers are way different from the rest of U.S.
Please explain to Uber Kenya where the staff are hopeless. They don't pick call in case a driver, has trouble eater
@@maxflyman5435 People like you is why a tip should be a mandatory fee. You expect a driver to kiss your nasty ass.
Absolutely not. A tip is EARNED to incentivise proper service. You are not entitled to a tip.
I’m new and I was going by miles. Like I don’t want to go 5 miles for 2 dollars. I now get direction! My problem is some how O’m excepting anything over $10 dollars, but I put 101 miles on my car in 5 runs!!!!!!!!!
The more you do the better you will get. My last 5 runs I made $70 and drove 21 miles
I don’t wait in line, I go to one of the tills that is empty and I put in the number myself
Congrats and good luck.
EXCELLENT VIDEO. Thank you.
This video was very informative, thanks I appreciate you
You are welcome. I'm glad I could help.
Helped a lot dude, thanks! Speed is my business and business is good.
You are welcome. Go get that $$$
Hey I love your video. May i use it for my channel. Of course all the credits will go to you
Yes I do not mind you using it. Good luck on your channel. I'll subscribe
Really good job. I sent this video to family
I am glad I could help
Thank-you for making & posting this video. It was very informative & professionally done. I really appreciate all the time and effort you took to produce this video. 🙏🏽 You’re awesome!! Love your channel’s content. Definitely subscribing!!!
I should have watched this video before I started yesterday because I couldn't figure out how to press start delivery and finally it took me a while but I figured it out to lress the square
You will get better and better as you do it.
Very good concise vid
Excellent customer service standards to market. A+ notes on good foundations for marketing one's self to others in their community. :)
YES!
I'm not sure how I missed this comment. Are you still driving for eats?
Keep doing videos you make sense good job 👏🏼
I am actually in the middle of making a whole series of videos and will also be giving away some cool stuff.
ooo i didn't know about that. well, i figured that's how you guys got paid but i always went with the closest restaurant because i thought it was better for you guys. i'll know next time
