Thank you for all the amazing comments. After this video, the most stops I’ve ever had got up to 172 with over 325 packages and I wasn’t getting home till about 9pm.
That's the average. ...and that's pretty good. Delivering in the rural areas I wouldn't get back to the station until around 10PM. When it got dark things got real interesting.
Same here. I think the most that I’ve had was 389 packages or 408. Can’t quite remember the exact, but I do recall it being immense. I’m pretty good and pretty fast so I see that they were taking great advantage of that. Whether I’m good or not though, to me that’s an excessive amount. I was getting back very close to 9 and 9:30 PM almost every day. Our fleet leaves the distribution center pretty late though. We were the last DSP to leave. We left around 11:45 AM / noon.
That job is brutal, i did it for around 3 months and left immediately, it suckkkss , its underpaid, is bad, specially in summer, did it in Miami, and let me tell u, dont work with these contractors, is badddd stay away
My son is an Amazon driver so I have tremendous amount of respect for them. One thing he left out in the video is my son has had people be so mean to him yelling even saying racial remarks just because they are stuck behind his van on a narrow road and he has no.place to go but forward. He has told me about the nice people that have feasts waiting for them because they understand so now I have cold water bottles waiting as well in this heat. Please be nice to the delivery drivers they mean something to someone out there. ❤
that is a great idea to have chilled water bottle waiting for the driver. I think Amazon is working to make things easier for delivery persons and faster and more accurate for the customers.. I think one of thier innovations of taking a picture of the package in front of the door is one of them. And i believe Fedex has not adopted this with their deliveries.. it is quite helpful.. I am interested in knowing more about the difficulties of deliering to apartments.. perhaps there are ways to make it easier.. maybe using augmented reality to help the driver plot out the way to get tothe apartment most efficiently?
U know why nobody likes Amazon drivers cuz they break all the laws do stupid shit on road. They block everyone’s driveways and they park on the wrong side of road. I know cuz I’m a UPS driver and Amazon and fedex are the worst drivers they are all private contractors nobody watches them.
I love that you mentioned that some customers leave water and wonderful things out for drivers. Some customers are really awesome. When I delivered, there are a lot of customers who leave bowls of snacks, treats, etc. One winter when it was close to Christmas, one customer welcomed me into their house to have some of their homemade cookies. 😃 Was so sweet.

It starts to suck when you have to make above 160 stops. Keep in mind of the weather, most Drivers don’t even take their breaks. Organizing your packages greatly helps you. Business stops and apartment stops slow you down drastically.
the most frustrating thing is people who don't even know their address, or give no instructions on how to enter a locked apartment complex gate. Some of those can't be unlocked with the Amazon "key".
I buy a lot through amazon. We appreciate your hard work and professionalism. You guys always drop off my packages at my door, unlike fedex throwing packages out on street and walking away. You are appreciated
what worries me as a usps guy is that one day Amazon will run out of delivery drivers. Then they'll resort to dropping all of their stuff off at the Post Office for us to deliver again. We still get a fair deal of it but we also get a ton in the way of walmart, target, perscriptions and everything else under the sun. UPS swings by and unloads on us. DHL comes around and unloads stuff on us. Drop Shippers etc... If amazon thinks they can keep prime members with 2 day shipping thru the po... they got another thing coming lmao.
That will only work temporary. This is why unions are so vital for all workers. It forces the capitalist to treat you like a human instead of a number.
Appreciate this video. I wouldn’t recommend this job to anyone. 190 stops a day is brutal. Mad respect to the people that can do this on a daily basis. It’s just not for me.
@Txguy998 it’s something else. They’ll come rescue you if you fall behind, but they might reduce your routes if you’re not performing up to their standards
That's why I always leave an "Above and beyond" thank you for all my Amazon delivery drivers. Even when I have to take the elevator to the lobby to retrieve my package/s. Even when delivery is late. It's hard work and I appreciate ordering something while laying in bed and have it delivered to me, especially when you are elderly. Thank you all very, very much. And may God guide you and protect you always especially while delivering your packages.

I get it but people like you make this very hard and time consuming delivering like a regular mail that leaves the mail in the lobby do you have any idea how much better that will be for us drivers your already a hour away and I have 300 more packages no matter the size but have a nice day
I ordered an electric bike which was close to 150 pounds and i waited outside my house to help the Amazon driver. I thanked him and gave him water because it was over 100 degrees. I couldn't believe he told me that he had to deliver more of these e bikes to people's apartments upstairs that same day
@@cashlindontv7293I did this job for a year. Package weight limit was 50 lbs. So how could he have been delivering 150 pound packages alone? How many people can lift a big 150 lbs package by themselves.
Used to be a janitor at amazon warehouse and about 70% of the drivers piss in bottles! We just started double bagging driver trash cans to avoid any spills!
I admire you and your work ethic, my friend. I couldn't do your job. Please don't stay too long. You're still young, but you don't want to look back and regret staying at this or any other job that you don't like. You're a much more valuable young man. I'm 70yrs old and I wish I had moved on sooner from jobs I hated. Treat yourself and your time as the most precious things in the world. Trust me, you will never regret following that advice. Just hired in. The two day teaining was done with an actual trainer going thru the vids. Two weeks in and im still on nursery routes but im handling 130 stops a day. I figured out amazon will pay your full tuition for a CDL class, so 90 days in and im immediately going to apply for that.
How long did it take for your background check to come in?I had my interview already,and now all I’m waiting for is the background check the app says pending and wait up to 10 days but it’s been 11 days already
@Txguy998 well not everywhere but most places yes, Home Depot starts you off pretty well and they are a great company to work for, I worked there, and it was great, but ya know you always want to move up in the world and move on to bigger and better things
Aye i worked at the USPS as a city carrier and you will 400 to 600 stops going practically house to house, plus packages!!! A customer will come out and say “is it hot enough for ya” and I have be respectful and say “it sure is”. Freakin idiot 😂😂😂 I’m practically drenched in sweat and they say that. However, we do have customers that will offer you a bottle of water.
i said the same thing . i like to work alone and driving 8 hrs a day isnt that bad , it may be a tad bit physical but it will definitely be less sressful than working at publix
Def more like 6 hrs on your feet the rest is actual driving. However, this is a great job if you like working alone. Keep in mind tho, if you finish your route early you may be required to do mandatory rescues. Of course this all depends on the dsp.
Hey man old delivery driver here I would recommend putting a folded tote in the passenger seat to put the envelopes and smaller packages on top. just makes it a little faster
Finish early bc you are efficient then get called for mandatory rescue of the girl who has 130 stops all residential. One of the only jobs that penalizes you for being good at the job.

Piss bottle is actually great (not so great when it spills) or heats up in the vehicle lol. Lots of jobs where you don’t get a break (but still get it taken out of your pay check). Probably worst thing is eating out and the poor food quality.
This gave me flashbacks. I used to do this. I don't plan on going back unless I'm desperate. It was summer, and a lot of the vans didn’t have working AC. I lost 10 lbs I couldn't afford to lose. I don't think anyone ever took the 15 min breaks. And in my personal life I have vowed to never order cases of drinks or cat litter online 'cause that just feels like abuse. Recently came across 2 Amazon trucks in a parking lot and I knew what was up. One driver was taking some of the other driver's packages. My co worker said that the delivery girl looked like she was about to have a mental breakdown. I said, "yeah, that's just what your average Amazon driver looks like"

I live in NYC and I feel bad for all delivery people, from all companies... It's rough out here. The traffic, there's no parking and getting into buildings is nearly impossible.. rude customers ... so I know how hard y'all work.
Ups is at least getting paid because they’re union. Everybody else has it rough. Don’t know how they do parking. I live on LI. At least Amazon does box trucks and drives mostly avenues in manhattan. We are getting taken to the cleaners by these corporations.

I was shocked when I visited NYC last year and saw Amazon delivery workers pushing huge carts of packages around the streets of Manhattan. Brutal. Better to be the suburbs delivering packages by van
@@robd7934 their pay in the city is too low. Higher cost of living and they should in theory be getting some of the cost savings from probably much less gas costs. An example of how trickle down is a lie. Amazon wins again, and the people lose. They make like $17. In the suburbs here it’s $19
I worked for US Postal Service as a seasonal employee for almost 90 days around 2005. Treatment of employees and morale was so bad, I truly learned why and how the term "going postal" came about. All my life I have done blue collar hard labor by choice. Ditch digging, hauling bricks, tower climbing, military on and on. Even now pushing 70, I love being on the end of a shovel. Amazon delivery driver sounds like heaven compared to my experience with postal service. Name of the game is getting from A to B. Whatever it takes. Quitters never win, winners never quit.
occasionally i get a delivery service survey with my iphone delivery notification message. i always take that opportunity to give amazon maximum positive feedback, because the service is always great, especially compared to my experiences with UNIONIZED delivery services from UPS FEDEX ETC.
I worked as a driver and I finished my route with 2 hours to spare. My last stop was in the middle of nowhere and the nearest place for me to grab food was like 20 minutes away. I called and reported I completed my route and the shift manager said okay, need you to do a rescue. I said okay after I take my 30 minute break I’ll call back and you can send me there location and I’ll do the pickup. I drove 20 minutes to get to the closest civilization, took a piss, grabbed food. Sat back down in the van and he called and was like “dude you done yet?” I said I just grabbed food…I haven’t even ate yet. He said “well idk what to tell you, 30 minutes is 30 minutes regardless of how far you have to drive to get food, go do the pickup” and I was baffled because my entire route was finished, I didn’t take my break because it was a new route and I wanted to be sure I’d finish it and now I don’t even get to eat despite MY work being done because someone else is slacking and needs to be rescued. That did it for me and I politely bowed out and chucked up the deuces.
That's a real thing I've dealt with personally in most of the jobs I've worked. It's called performance punishment. You did good so now you get to do more good. 🤣
Yeah it’s like this with most field service jobs. Good job. Here’s some more work. Worst part is these types of jobs never provide performance based wage increases.
I use to do 210 stops here in Massachusetts,I wouldn’t turn off my van I wouldn’t use seatbelt just to see if I could finish faster,but I’d always finish by 8 or 9 pm Some people wouldn’t even take breaks just to try to finish faster
I don’t get the not taking breaks. I delivered in Long Island ny, like don’t people need to eat? Unless someone’s goal is to lose weight being a da. Yeah I think once you’re in the habit it barely takes 10 seconds more each stop, engine and seatbelt.

i use to work for kroger and we would have about 12-18 stops very spread out and driving for 8-10 hours plus was so mentally exhausting when i got home. And the repetitve daily part of the job drove me crazy

i work as a detailer for sold cars and the shop is like a oven, constantly sweating but the best thing about it is that i can drive the cars and use the ac as an advantage when delievering them.

It’s not as bad as these ppl on TH-cam make it out to be. Fold up a bag n put it on your passenger seat, organize your packages by number, get a sharpie n write the driver assist number on your overflow. Makes it easy to find later. Takes a lil time when loading but it’s worth it. It’s demanding, but the money isn’t bad. Very repetitive. Bring a cooler with water n ice. It’s really easy. Just have to be a self motivating worker. Just drive good, pay attention to stop signs. Just be alert. You’ll do fine. Don’t let the bad parts ruin it for you. If you need a job this is a decent paying entry level job.
The wear and tear it does to your body is NOT worth the pay trust me you will find out AFTER your first month once you are done with your nurser routes. You will CONSTANTLY see new drivers being hired every single day cause people are quitting all the time. You will see for yourself. This is why they hire ANYBODY and EVERYBODY.
Well if it's like it was for me a few years ago then if you actually come in and do a decent job you will become a workhorse and expected to bail out lazy drivers on the daily by picking up a portion of their route after you are done with yours with no incentive. That gets old REAL quick.
It is the hardest job in America, the stops and packages they give one person, should be given to 2 or 3 people, it is not a job for one person. They are just maximizing profit off people, and enslaving people.

I did delivery for Amazon too for less than 6 months, in the van side door i open it just a little bit cracked open enough just to take a piss. No cap. There is so many DSP (delivery service partners) anyone can sign-up and start their own DSP with Amazon. I always delivered all my packages around 180-240 packages each day. I don't give a f, i put my next tote packages in the front seat and leave my belt buckle plugged in and just wrapped the strap over me. I was one of the best drivers. I would get gifts, amazon swag, and gift cards. Not to brag but. It is frowned upon on if you don't deliver all your packages. If you don't, they send a rescue. Someone who will meet up with you and take some packages from you and deliver them. DSP Amazon delivery isn't a real long-term career imo. I learned that quickly that we were just 3rd party contractors. Amazon did this on purpose so that no one can blame them if any drivers get into any trouble. Amazon; They will just respond and say "the driver is a 3rd party contractor and isn't a Amazon employee" DSP's sucks. Benefits from the DSP isn't great either. 👎
I've always wondered this, when I get a package delivered it always asks "how did it go". There is a little thumbs up or thumbs down. I know 99% of the time. I always do thumbs up, then I will select things like on time, friendly, followed directions stuff like that. Does that help the driver get bonuses or do they not care?
I did this job during the peak of Covid all the way until the beginning of that Autumn. If you take this job, get ready to be busy all day. Also, if another driver is about to finish their shift, the company will ask you to "rescue" them. This means you and that driver will meet somewhere and they will unload some/most of their packages onto yours. It's not really optional either. Taking a break is NOT recommended if you're trying to deliver everything. If you return to the base with undelivered packages, they will bother you give you shit about it and ask you all types of questions about it. You also get rated on your delivery abilites. It's all very stupid. If you're doing it, make sure it's temporary. I left before the winter. Imagine walking through driveways and uphill residences during snow, with packages... hell no. There are mostly cons. Also, while true that no one micromanages you, there are staff members that are a level above drivers, but they usually have horrible attitudes and they will snitch on you and provoke you.

This is why I can't with any delivery job. I wanted to work for USPS back in the day, but I already sweat like a faucet just moving around in 80F weather. Then there's the stories about drivers passing out from heat exhaustion and dog attacks.
I’m a broke 21 year old college student. I got offered an interview for this job and I’m kinda desperate for a job. It’s $21 an hour. My family is buying a new house and when we move there, I have to help out with bills which I don’t mind. I also have to get my dad’s minivan fixed up after getting it dented and scratched. I also need money for whenever I’m at my college campus. I live in nyc and right now the weather is humid since it’s summer. But I’m really desperate and barely have any options so I guess I’ll give this a shot until I figure something out.
It isn't that bad. This dude was complaining about how "bad" training is and how much it sucks to get paid to sit there watch videos. So take his opinion with a grain of salt.
Its tough for sure, it is also easy at same time. The app does make everything harder than it should in my opinion but it is what it is very straightforward and challenging all at once lol.
I'm in Arizona, so inside the van can be 115 to 120. Sometimes, days can feel frustrating. I got in trouble because I went to the restroom, they told me you could've that time to deliver. I'm not pissing in a bottle lmao
I had no idea that Amazon delivery drivers made hundreds of stops and delivered hundreds of packages a day. I live in an apartment and get a lot of packages delivered by Amazon. Thank You Amazon delivery drivers for your service. I try to get packages delivered on Saturdays and Sundays so I can be home to receive them. When I am home, I always buzz the drivers into the building or come outside right away to get my packages.

Hey Prestin! I work on the other spectrum. I'm in the warehouse as the diverter when I take a shift. I am fortunate to work in a smaller warehouse in a smaller county but we are still pushing out between 15k - 22k packages into the totes from our fullfillment center for the drivers. Thank you for what you did or do for our customers🤙 You nailed it when saying "It's a simple job but it's not easy"

Job sounds similar to the USPS. I worked there for 3 years. Repetitive yes. Angry people sometimes. DOGS (aggressive ones) turn and hall azz! I only did this because jobs were scarce at the time. Sometimes you have to take what you can get. Unemployment doesn’t pay squat! Decided I had enough. Went back to school, graduated and worked as a Sr Adjuster for the state for 21 years. Pros: TSP and you can retire with a pension. Job opportunities are for FT employees and go strictly by seniority. Cons: don’t want to say but anyone who’s worked there knows the bad stuff. Was an Amazon delivery driver for a year in AZ. Honestly I liked the job. But all the rescues I had to do from my incompetent fellow employees burnt me out fast. Did that on top of 190 stops which are more because lots of them are grouped. Should be 150 stops maximum per day. Good luck brotha
Basically it’s when you’re finished with the route that’s assigned to you. Then you call dispatch and they usually always give you the bad new that you have to rescue a fellow co worker that’s behind. Taking some of their stops and adding it onto yours.
Dude i got a part time job, just flip stuff on the side and I’m doing okay, I have higher goals and aspirations but it just is what it is right now, can’t rush the process at all, working sucks bro but u gotta find something that’ll give u a balance as well as take care of you

I drive for FedEx in Northern Michigan. So I feel your pain lol. We don’t have quite as many stops or packages as you. But we get all the big heavy shit. It also takes 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to my first delivery everyday. We also get paid by the day, not the hour.
I quit FedEx due to not being transparent and I didn’t want to deal with big stuff due to my herniated disc. About to start my day driving alone tomorrow
@nalsra0 I'm on day 2 solo, day 5 overall. Not bad. It's physical as hell, and the absurd level of detail in driving is tricky at first but overall I love it. I'm outta toledo and they have my route up in Grosse Isle, Gibraltar and whatever that little Island is called
You should work for Pizza Hut or dominos as a delivery driver. You get to keep tips and the work is heck of a lot easier than Amazon plus you make around 20 an hour plus tips . Thanks for sharing!

@@the-space-wizI've done pizza for a long time. Just set aside a little bit of tips everyday for wear and tear and do regular maintenance. I'd rather use my car and do Pizza than the nonsense amazon drivers deal with. Did you know I can pee almost anytime I want?
I tried working as an Amazon warehouse associate. I quit after the second day. It's a lot more physically demanding than being a driver. Perhaps a decent job for young people but not for older people. Definitely a job that should be done by robots.
I've been with Amazon for 3 years at a Delivery Station and I've outlasted over 1k people at this point, and they always quit for the exhaustion, Pick 2 Buffer wears you out insanely.
At my station the older workers work the hardest. All the younger kids just talk and flirt with each other all day, I swear we have had at least 7-8 relationships start between associates in the 3yrs I've been there. And that's just the ones showing it.
Have you been a driver? For you to say something like that makes me believe you have not because being a driver is way more physically demanding than working in the warehouse. Do y'all have to deal with the constant heat/cold/weather? Do y'all have to climb numerous flights of stairs in apartment complexes? Maybe even getting cooked inside one of these vans like a microwave? Y'all have restrooms inside the warehouse right? And even a little snack store with cold drinks? Damn must be tough working in the warehouse
I did amazon delivery for about 1 year, I climbed up to be one of the top drivers. everyday I would come in a have 180-200 stops a day. I enjoyed the job. However, the pay was just not worth it. 18.25 for me and the other driver who only has 100 stops that day gets paid the same. It just didn’t make sense that the other drivers who are slower and with less stops and packages are getting paid the same or more then me. 😂 I was offered to drive in the big trucks for a whopping extra 1$. To me that was not a good deal. If I got offered at least 24-25$ then I would’ve done it, but for 19.25$, it just didn’t add up. But I do thank all the drivers who do this type of work. I’m driving allowed me to understand their struggles on a daily bases, and their hard work does not go unnoticed.
@@d14flare that’s exactly what I did, I was still one of the top drivers working at a slower pace and taking my lunch. However, a lot of DSP incentivize on you working fast and getting back fast. It’s all about numbers with this job, the more packages your can deliver, the more money the dsp makes. I noticed at my dsp that since I slowed down and my numbers dropped a slight bit. My dsp would get on my assss and other drivers assss for going slow. They pick and choose their favors and majority of the time their favors are the slow drivers who slack and they don’t care about the good workers. That’s one of the main reason the turnover rate for this job is so high. It just like I said the pay was not worth it. You have to know your worth and you don’t want to be breaking your back for a company that doesn’t realize your worth.
If you’re fast I would definitely recommend FedEx… they pay by the day and you can negotiate your rate 180-220 a day working 4-10 hrs depending on your route. If you live in a condensed area where you’re doing 30-40 per stop you’ll finish easily by noon to 3pm. The better routes are condensed cause you’re grabbing and going, it’s a better organizing system than Amazon and you basically in charge of how you do your route. But there are shitty routes where that’s not the case, it just takes longer and sometimes they fuck you with a high stop count 180-220. Also depends if you have bulky stops and if businesses that can slow you down. 2-3 days a week I’m working 4-6 hrs Thursday and fridays are heavy and sometimes I’m doing as much as 10 hrs. But the downside is the weather, no AC, having too many big heavy items. Personally it’s not for me cause I rather work with my brain, but I’m still there until I find something better in terms of pay and comfortability
Thanks. I live in a huge apartment complex so we see your drivers often. I always feel for them as i know how hard they work and how fast they race around delivering things. We see them dragging those huge totes around and wonder why in the world they dont put wheels on them! Ridiculous. And insane that they have no AC. And you are right... we have easr and west sides of building (183 apartments) and you cannot get to oppose sides without going to first floor. Very difficult to find your way around. We do have elevators but 4 floors. I am on 4th and get several deliveries a week. Amazed at how they do it.
I'm almost 50yrs old. I just left Walmart after being there 10.5yrs. Got tired of it. Looking to do something different. I may give this a try and see how it goes for me. Thanks for doing this video. I watched one before this one that showed it to be very fun. The guy was in good moods the whole time. It may be different depending on your work ethic and personality.
I have a friend whose son is working at Amazon while going to college part time. He is working like 55-60 hours a week since they are short staffed in the Orlando area, and he told me that his son said that 90% of the workforce there refuse to work past 40 hours. Once they hit that, they stop and leave, ditching routes and all, leaving his son and a few others to finish them. But they won’t terminate the other drivers because they’re tenured, and they are already short staffed…..

You mean there is no AC in the van at all? What if you work in areas like Las Vegas, Arizona, Miami? You would probably die from the heat in those areas. And another con is that people will sneak into your van to steal packages while you were out delivering those packages. I saw Amazon drivers all the time and they don't lock the doors while delivering packages
For comparison, I'm a home health nurse (visiting RN at home) and our productivity is visiting 5 patients a day in their home including driving and charting. I make about base 130000 to 140000K a year. My son had to see his pediatrician at Kaiser clinic for emergency (last call appointment). When I saw the MD computer screen, my son was the 18th patient seen by MD (at 4:45 PM and they close at 5 PM). The Kaiser pediatrician resigned in 1.5 to 2 years but when I looked up their base salary it was about 225000 to 250000 which is double to triple RN income. But they have to see 15 to 20 patients. And amazon drivers need to drop 210 to 230 packages at >200 houses for minimum wage. Go to school and learn some trade.

Nice video bro, I’m a Amazon driver as well. There are a few misconceptions about the job. The higher the stop count doesn’t really mean you will be there all day. Amazon is a very work at your pace to get the job done type of gig. I was on nursery routes for about two days until I started getting 180+ stops. Highest I’ve had is 200 stops but that happened in peak season. Other than that it doesn’t matter if I have 170 or 190 stops. I get done at the same time everyday and I’ve been employed with my team for about 7 months now. It is a tough gig but worth it considering the benefits they provide in different Dispatxh groups. It’s more a mental than anything else, I hear people complain on the job everyday. But to me, it’s barely hard work, overall it’s just tedious which would make sense why people find it difficult cause nobody likes to feel like a robot. But as a job, I think it’s the best one I’ve had and I’ve worked some hard jobs.
Please leave as soon as you can. I got underhanded by them in secretly recording a conversation about my knee recovery condition after dislocating it back in December 2023 and them claiming I did not tell the truth about my actual abilities but I literally got approved for an orthoscope surgery and they decided to pull workman's comp benefits so I would have woken up to a surprise $3k medical bill to pay. Run as soon as you can and please go work at FedEx instead OR even better the Post Office.
For those complaining, you don’t need to worry about those jobs in the near future. Ai and robots will do them for you. You’ll have self driving cars with robots in them to deliver the packages 24hrs a day with no complaints. I like that, no job to complain about.

I just left an accounting job in which the company outsourced all of the work to another firm that uses AI but they are still in the learning phases of it so they hired everyone to work for them while the AI system learns their jobs over the next year and then everyone will be laid off at the new firm. The workforce will change drastically over the next 20 years. Bernie Sanders a few months ago proposed future legislation to address this by reducing the workweek from 40 hours down to 32 hours yet still be paid at the 40 hour workweek.. No other politicians argued against it because everyone knows that it is true and the billionaires will still make even more money. Yes, there will still be plenty of jobs but the daily metrics will be reduced and there will be more mandatory breaks and vacations.
I do DoorDash full time and I have well over 11,000 lifetime deliveries. The past two years I work 7 days a week and an average of 8 hours a day. A lot of what you say in this video I totally identify with .
I had to do this job because ubereats and doordash just weren't paying me I was making like $300 a week with food delivery. I had like 60-80 hours online time and only about 10-15 hours active it was very inconsistent
@@Alltimefox everyday . I started back in 2019 when it was new to my area and worked relentlessly 10 - 12 hours everyday for a few years straight before the pandemic started. I saw the opening , thought it wouldn’t last with base pay being 5$ , very low delivery fees and the customers tipping good. I was able to pay my home , car / truck off before COVID hit full blast. I’m grateful for the opportunity these apps , especially DoorDash provided , but these apps don’t pay like they used to any longer. Every year base pay goes down lower and lower with delivery fees getting higher each year making the customers tip less and less. It’s not a lucrative as it once was but I still do it everyday. It’s like walking a tightrope now deciding what offers to accept or decline .
Thank you for your video, you made me remember everything I did when I worked at Amazon. I have been working with Amazon as a delivery driver for 2 years, and as you said, it is a very hard thing to do, but you have to do it because it is your job and your way of paying your bills, food, rent, etc. I was in Concord, North Carolina and I started at 10 am delivering all those packages and I finished that job between 9 pm and 10 pm, depending on the amount of packages to be delivered, because the area I was going to was 1 hour away from "DLT3". I can't deny that I found it entertaining to be outside and see the street even though I had to do that hard work, since many times working in an enclosed place is completely boring. Now I have another job, locked up 8 hours from Monday to Friday, but for some reason I miss that job as an Amazon delivery driver.
It sounds a little better than factory work I've done... being shutup inside a building all day, breathing crappy dirty air, standing on concrete floors all day, dealing with stupid coworkers, having to bring your own tools because the company is too cheap, having to sweep floors or other shit jobs when work is slow. I guess there's trade offs of other stupid stuff you have to deal with though 🙁
Much respect to you. Peak for us was 200+ stops and 300+ packages. Started during Christmas. Yes, apartments sucked. I always changed my route and did those first and neighborhoods with schools 2nd so I didn’t hit that school traffic when it let out. Agree with you about the dogs. Good luck to you!

Thats crazy! I remember everything over 100 stops for fed ex home delivery was insane 22 years ago, I can't imagine doing 315. Only difference is I got 5 zip codes back then and now with everyone ordering online you get a small area to deliver.

Can’t quite remember the exact, but I do recall it being immense. I’m pretty good and pretty fast so I see that they were taking great advantage of that.

Our fleet leaves the distribution center pretty late though. We were the last DSP to leave. We left around 11:45 AM / noon.

My son is an Amazon driver so I have tremendous amount of respect for them. One thing he left out in the video is my son has had people be so mean to him yelling even saying racial remarks just because they are stuck behind his van on a narrow road and he has no.place to go but forward. He has told me about the nice people that have feasts waiting for them because they understand so now I have cold water bottles waiting as well in this heat. Please be nice to the delivery drivers they mean something to someone out there. ❤
that is a great idea to have chilled water bottle waiting for the driver. I think Amazon is working to make things easier for delivery persons and faster and more accurate for the customers.. I think one of thier innovations of taking a picture of the package in front of the door is one of them. And i believe Fedex has not adopted this with their deliveries.. it is quite helpful.. I am interested in knowing more about the difficulties of deliering to apartments.. perhaps there are ways to make it easier.. maybe using augmented reality to help the driver plot out the way to get tothe apartment most efficiently?

what worries me as a usps guy is that one day Amazon will run out of delivery drivers. Then they'll resort to dropping all of their stuff off at the Post Office for us to deliver again.
We still get a fair deal of it but we also get a ton in the way of walmart, target, perscriptions and everything else under the sun. UPS swings by and unloads on us. DHL comes around and unloads stuff on us. Drop Shippers etc...

That's why I always leave an "Above and beyond" thank you for all my Amazon delivery drivers. Even when I have to take the elevator to the lobby to retrieve my package/s. Even when delivery is late. It's hard work and I appreciate ordering something while laying in bed and have it delivered to me, especially when you are elderly. Thank you all very, very much. I ordered an electric bike which was close to 150 pounds and i waited outside my house to help the Amazon driver. I thanked him and gave him water because it was over 100 degrees. I couldn't believe he told me that he had to deliver more of these e bikes to people's apartments upstairs that same day

Just hired in. The two day teaining was done with an actual trainer going thru the vids. Two weeks in and im still on nursery routes but im handling 130 stops a day. I figured out amazon will pay your full tuition for a CDL class, so 90 days in and im immediately going to apply for that.
How long did it take for your background check to come in?I had my interview already,and now all I’m waiting for is the background check the app says pending and wait up to 10 days but it’s been 11 days already

Aye i worked at the USPS as a city carrier and you will 400 to 600 stops going practically house to house, plus packages!!! A customer will come out and say “is it hot enough for ya” and I have be respectful and say “it sure is”. Freakin idiot 😂😂😂 I’m practically drenched in sweat and they say that. However, we do have customers that will offer you a bottle of water.

Def more like 6 hrs on your feet the rest is actual driving. However, this is a great job if you like working alone. Keep in mind tho, if you finish your route early you may be required to do mandatory rescues. Of course this all depends on the dsp.

Finish early bc you are efficient then get called for mandatory rescue of the girl who has 130 stops all residential. One of the only jobs that penalizes you for being good at the job.

Piss bottle is actually great (not so great when it spills) or heats up in the vehicle lol. Lots of jobs where you don’t get a break (but still get it taken out of your pay check). Probably worst thing is eating out and the poor food quality.

This gave me flashbacks. I used to do this. I don't plan on going back unless I'm desperate. It was summer, and a lot of the vans didn’t have working AC. I lost 10 lbs I couldn't afford to lose. I don't think anyone ever took the 15 min breaks. And in my personal life I have vowed to never order cases of drinks or cat litter online 'cause that just feels like abuse. Recently came across 2 Amazon trucks in a parking lot and I knew what was up. One driver was taking some of the other driver's packages. My co worker said that the delivery girl looked like she was about to have a mental breakdown. I said, "yeah, that's just what your average Amazon driver looks like"

I live in NYC and I feel bad for all delivery people, from all companies... It's rough out here. The traffic, there's no parking and getting into buildings is nearly impossible.. rude customers ... so I know how hard y'all work.

I was shocked when I visited NYC last year and saw Amazon delivery workers pushing huge carts of packages around the streets of Manhattan. Brutal. Better to be the suburbs delivering packages by van

I worked for US Postal Service as a seasonal employee for almost 90 days around 2005. Treatment of employees and morale was so bad, I truly learned why and how the term "going postal" came about. All my life I have done blue collar hard labor by choice. Ditch digging, hauling bricks, tower climbing, military on and on. Even now pushing 70, I love being on the end of a shovel. Amazon delivery driver sounds like heaven compared to my experience with postal service. Name of the game is getting from A to B. Whatever it takes. Quitters never win, winners never quit.

occasionally i get a delivery service survey with my iphone delivery notification message. i always take that opportunity to give amazon maximum positive feedback, because the service is always great, especially compared to my experiences with UNIONIZED delivery services from UPS FEDEX ETC.
I worked as a driver and I finished my route with 2 hours to spare. My last stop was in the middle of nowhere and the nearest place for me to grab food was like 20 minutes away. I called and reported I completed my route and the shift manager said okay, need you to do a rescue. I said okay after I take my 30 minute break I’ll call back and you can send me there location and I’ll do the pickup. I drove 20 minutes to get to the closest civilization, took a piss, grabbed food. Sat back down in the van and he called and was like “dude you done yet?” I said I just grabbed food…I haven’t even ate yet. He said “well idk what to tell you, 30 minutes is 30 minutes regardless of how far you have to drive to get food, go do the pickup” and I was baffled because my entire route was finished, I didn’t take my break because it was a new route and I wanted to be sure I’d finish it and now I don’t even get to eat despite MY work being done because someone else is slacking and needs to be rescued. That did it for me and I politely bowed out and chucked up the deuces.
DSPs owners are greedy people. Best to not aid them in their luxury life. I won’t be apart of it.
That's a real thing I've dealt with personally in most of the jobs I've worked. It's called performance punishment. You did good so now you get to do more good. 🤣

i use to work for kroger and we would have about 12-18 stops very spread out and driving for 8-10 hours plus was so mentally exhausting when i got home. And the repetitve daily part of the job drove me crazy

i work as a detailer for sold cars and the shop is like a oven, constantly sweating but the best thing about it is that i can drive the cars and use the ac as an advantage when delievering them.

I just got hired n have my 3 days of training start next week. Very informative vid.
It’s not as bad as these ppl on TH-cam make it out to be. Fold up a bag n put it on your passenger seat, organize your packages by number, get a sharpie n write the driver assist number on your overflow. Makes it easy to find later. Takes a lil time when loading but it’s worth it. It’s demanding, but the money isn’t bad. Very repetitive. Bring a cooler with water n ice. It’s really easy. Just have to be a self motivating worker. Just drive good, pay attention to stop signs. Just be alert. You’ll do fine. Don’t let the bad parts ruin it for you. If you need a job this is a decent paying entry level job.
The wear and tear it does to your body is NOT worth the pay trust me you will find out AFTER your first month once you are done with your nurser routes. You will CONSTANTLY see new drivers being hired every single day cause people are quitting all the time. You will see for yourself. This is why they hire ANYBODY and EVERYBODY.
Well if it's like it was for me a few years ago then if you actually come in and do a decent job you will become a workhorse and expected to bail out lazy drivers on the daily by picking up a portion of their route after you are done with yours with no incentive. That gets old REAL quick.
It is the hardest job in America, the stops and packages they give one person, should be given to 2 or 3 people, it is not a job for one person. They are just maximizing profit off people, and enslaving people.

I did delivery for Amazon too for less than 6 months, in the van side door i open it just a little bit cracked open enough just to take a piss. No cap. There is so many DSP (delivery service partners) anyone can sign-up and start their own DSP with Amazon.
I always delivered all my packages around 180-240 packages each day. I don't give a f, i put my next tote packages in the front seat and leave my belt buckle plugged in and just wrapped the strap over me.
I was one of the best drivers. I would get gifts, amazon swag, and gift cards. Not to brag but.
It is frowned upon on if you don't deliver all your packages. If you don't, they send a rescue. Someone who will meet up with you and take some packages from you and deliver them.
DSP Amazon delivery isn't a real long-term career imo. I learned that quickly that we were just 3rd party contractors. Amazon did this on purpose so that no one can blame them if any drivers get into any trouble. Amazon; They will just respond and say "the driver is a 3rd party contractor and isn't a Amazon employee"
DSP's sucks. Benefits from the DSP isn't great either. 👎
I've always wondered this, when I get a package delivered it always asks "how did it go". There is a little thumbs up or thumbs down. I know 99% of the time. I always do thumbs up, then I will select things like on time, friendly, followed directions stuff like that. Does that help the driver get bonuses or do they not care?

I did this job during the peak of Covid all the way until the beginning of that Autumn. If you take this job, get ready to be busy all day. Also, if another driver is about to finish their shift, the company will ask you to "rescue" them. This means you and that driver will meet somewhere and they will unload some/most of their packages onto yours. It's not really optional either.
Taking a break is NOT recommended if you're trying to deliver everything. If you return to the base with undelivered packages, they will bother you give you shit about it and ask you all types of questions about it. You also get rated on your delivery abilites. It's all very stupid. If you're doing it, make sure it's temporary. I left before the winter. Imagine walking through driveways and uphill residences during snow, with packages... hell no. There are mostly cons. Also, while true that no one micromanages you, there are staff members that are a level above drivers, but they usually have horrible attitudes and they will snitch on you and provoke you.

I’m a broke 21 year old college student. I got offered an interview for this job and I’m kinda desperate for a job. It’s $21 an hour. My family is buying a new house and when we move there, I have to help out with bills which I don’t mind. I also have to get my dad’s minivan fixed up after getting it dented and scratched. I also need money for whenever I’m at my college campus. I live in nyc and right now the weather is humid since it’s summer. But I’m really desperate and barely have any options so I guess I’ll give this a shot until I figure something out.

I'm in Arizona, so inside the van can be 115 to 120. Sometimes, days can feel frustrating. I got in trouble because I went to the restroom, they told me you could've that time to deliver. I'm not pissing in a bottle lmao

I had no idea that Amazon delivery drivers made hundreds of stops and delivered hundreds of packages a day. I live in an apartment and get a lot of packages delivered by Amazon. Thank You Amazon delivery drivers for your service. I try to get packages delivered on Saturdays and Sundays so I can be home to receive them. When I am home, I always buzz the drivers into the building or come outside right away to get my packages.

I am fortunate to work in a smaller warehouse in a smaller county but we are still pushing out between 15k - 22k packages into the totes from our fullfillment center for the drivers. Job sounds similar to the USPS. I worked there for 3 years. Repetitive yes. Angry people sometimes. DOGS (aggressive ones) turn and hall azz! I only did this because jobs were scarce at the time. Sometimes you have to take what you can get. Unemployment doesn’t pay squat!
Decided I had enough. Went back to school, graduated and worked as a Sr Adjuster for the state for 21 years.
Pros: TSP and you can retire with a pension. Job opportunities are for FT employees and go strictly by seniority.
Cons: don’t want to say but anyone who’s worked there knows the bad stuff.

Was an Amazon delivery driver for a year in AZ. Honestly I liked the job. But all the rescues I had to do from my incompetent fellow employees burnt me out fast. Did that on top of 190 stops which are more because lots of them are grouped. Should be 150 stops maximum per day. Good luck brotha

Basically it’s when you’re finished with the route that’s assigned to you. Then you call dispatch and they usually always give you the bad new that you have to rescue a fellow co worker that’s behind. Taking some of their stops and adding it onto yours.

I drive for FedEx in Northern Michigan. So I feel your pain lol. We don’t have quite as many stops or packages as you. But we get all the big heavy shit. It also takes 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to my first delivery everyday. We also get paid by the day, not the hour.

I tried working as an Amazon warehouse associate. I quit after the second day. It's a lot more physically demanding than being a driver. Perhaps a decent job for young people but not for older people. Definitely a job that should be done by robots.
I've been with Amazon for 3 years at a Delivery Station and I've outlasted over 1k people at this point, and they always quit for the exhaustion, Pick 2 Buffer wears you out insanely.

Do y'all have to deal with the constant heat/cold/weather? Do y'all have to climb numerous flights of stairs in apartment complexes? Covid peak season here in nj. We had well over 200 stops with over 600 packages. 😂😂😂 it was prison work.

I did amazon delivery for about 1 year, I climbed up to be one of the top drivers. everyday I would come in a have 180-200 stops a day. I enjoyed the job. However, the pay was just not worth it. 18.25 for me and the other driver who only has 100 stops that day gets paid the same. It just didn’t make sense that the other drivers who are slower and with less stops and packages are getting paid the same or more then me. 😂 I was offered to drive in the big trucks for a whopping extra 1$. To me that was not a good deal. If I got offered at least 24-25$ then I would’ve done it, but for 19.25$, it just didn’t add up. But I do thank all the drivers who do this type of work. I’m driving allowed me to understand their struggles on a daily bases, and their hard work does not go unnoticed.

@@d14flare that’s exactly what I did, I was still one of the top drivers working at a slower pace and taking my lunch. However, a lot of DSP incentivize on you working fast and getting back fast. It’s all about numbers with this job, the more packages your can deliver, the more money the dsp makes. I noticed at my dsp that since I slowed down and my numbers dropped a slight bit. My dsp would get on my assss and other drivers assss for going slow. They pick and choose their favors and majority of the time their favors are the slow drivers who slack and they don’t care about the good workers. That’s one of the main reason the turnover rate for this job is so high. It just like I said the pay was not worth it. You have to know your worth and you don’t want to be breaking your back for a company that doesn’t realize your worth.

If you’re fast I would definitely recommend FedEx… they pay by the day and you can negotiate your rate 180-220 a day working 4-10 hrs depending on your route. If you live in a condensed area where you’re doing 30-40 per stop you’ll finish easily by noon to 3pm. The better routes are condensed cause you’re grabbing and going, it’s a better organizing system than Amazon and you basically in charge of how you do your route. But there are shitty routes where that’s not the case, it just takes longer and sometimes they fuck you with a high stop count 180-220. Also depends if you have bulky stops and if businesses that can slow you down. 2-3 days a week I’m working 4-6 hrs Thursday and fridays are heavy and sometimes I’m doing as much as 10 hrs. But the downside is the weather, no AC, having too many big heavy items. Personally it’s not for me cause I rather work with my brain, but I’m still there until I find something better in terms of pay and comfortability

We see them dragging those huge totes around and wonder why in the world they dont put wheels on them! Ridiculous. And insane that they have no AC. And you are right... we have easr and west sides of building (183 apartments) and you cannot get to oppose sides without going to first floor. Very difficult to find your way around. We do have elevators but 4 floors. I am on 4th and get several deliveries a week. Amazed at how they do it.
I'm almost 50yrs old. I just left Walmart after being there 10.5yrs. Got tired of it. Looking to do something different. I may give this a try and see how it goes for me.

I have a friend whose son is working at Amazon while going to college part time. He is working like 55-60 hours a week since they are short staffed in the Orlando area, and he told me that his son said that 90% of the workforce there refuse to work past 40 hours. Once they hit that, they stop and leave, ditching routes and all, leaving his son and a few others to finish them. But they won’t terminate the other drivers because they’re tenured, and they are already short staffed…..

You mean there is no AC in the van at all? What if you work in areas like Las Vegas, Arizona, Miami? You would probably die from the heat in those areas. And another con is that people will sneak into your van to steal packages while you were out delivering those packages. I saw Amazon drivers all the time and they don't lock the doors while delivering packages
For comparison, I'm a home health nurse (visiting RN at home) and our productivity is visiting 5 patients a day in their home including driving and charting. I make about base 130000 to 140000K a year. My son had to see his pediatrician at Kaiser clinic for emergency (last call appointment). When I saw the MD computer screen, my son was the 18th patient seen by MD (at 4:45 PM and they close at 5 PM). The Kaiser pediatrician resigned in 1.5 to 2 years but when I looked up their base salary it was about 225000 to 250000 which is double to triple RN income. But they have to see 15 to 20 patients. And amazon drivers need to drop 210 to 230 packages at >200 houses for minimum wage. Go to school and learn some trade.

Nice video bro, I’m a Amazon driver as well. There are a few misconceptions about the job. The higher the stop count doesn’t really mean you will be there all day. Amazon is a very work at your pace to get the job done type of gig. I was on nursery routes for about two days until I started getting 180+ stops. Highest I’ve had is 200 stops but that happened in peak season. Other than that it doesn’t matter if I have 170 or 190 stops. I get done at the same time everyday and I’ve been employed with my team for about 7 months now. It is a tough gig but worth it considering the benefits they provide in different Dispatxh groups. It’s more a mental than anything else, I hear people complain on the job everyday. But to me, it’s barely hard work, overall it’s just tedious which would make sense why people find it difficult cause nobody likes to feel like a robot. But as a job, I think it’s the best one I’ve had and I’ve worked some hard jobs.
Definitely do Amazon flex if you can it’s an amazing side hustle

I got underhanded by them in secretly recording a conversation about my knee recovery condition after dislocating it back in December 2023 and them claiming I did not tell the truth about my actual abilities but I literally got approved for an orthoscope surgery and they decided to pull workman's comp benefits so I would have woken up to a surprise $3k medical bill to pay. Run as soon as you can and please go work at FedEx instead OR even better the Post Office.
For those complaining, you don’t need to worry about those jobs in the near future. Ai and robots will do them for you. You’ll have self driving cars with robots in them to deliver the packages 24hrs a day with no complaints. I like that, no job to complain about.
But who gets the money ? Obviously Amazon will keep it all no ubi unless we elect people to force them to pay is ubi , but even that will be a battle .

I just left an accounting job in which the company outsourced all of the work to another firm that uses AI but they are still in the learning phases of it so they hired everyone to work for them while the AI system learns their jobs over the next year and then everyone will be laid off at the new firm. The workforce will change drastically over the next 20 years. Bernie Sanders a few months ago proposed future legislation to address this by reducing the workweek from 40 hours down to 32 hours yet still be paid at the 40 hour workweek.. No other politicians argued against it because everyone knows that it is true and the billionaires will still make even more money. Yes, there will still be plenty of jobs but the daily metrics will be reduced and there will be more mandatory breaks and vacations.

I do DoorDash full time and I have well over 11,000 lifetime deliveries. The past two years I work 7 days a week and an average of 8 hours a day. A lot of what you say in this video I totally identify with .
I had to do this job because ubereats and doordash just weren't paying me I was making like $300 a week with food delivery. I had like 60-80 hours online time and only about 10-15 hours active it was very inconsistent

@@Alltimefox everyday . I started back in 2019 when it was new to my area and worked relentlessly 10 - 12 hours everyday for a few years straight before the pandemic started. I saw the opening , thought it wouldn’t last with base pay being 5$ , very low delivery fees and the customers tipping good. I was able to pay my home , car / truck off before COVID hit full blast. I’m grateful for the opportunity these apps , especially DoorDash provided , but these apps don’t pay like they used to any longer. Every year base pay goes down lower and lower with delivery fees getting higher each year making the customers tip less and less. It’s not a lucrative as it once was but I still do it everyday. It’s like walking a tightrope now deciding what offers to accept or decline .

I have been working with Amazon as a delivery driver for 2 years, and as you said, it is a very hard thing to do, but you have to do it because it is your job and your way of paying your bills, food, rent, etc.
I was in Concord, North Carolina and I started at 10 am delivering all those packages and I finished that job between 9 pm and 10 pm, depending on the amount of packages to be delivered, because the area I was going to was 1 hour away from "DLT3".
I can't deny that I found it entertaining to be outside and see the street even though I had to do that hard work, since many times working in an enclosed place is completely boring.
Now I have another job, locked up 8 hours from Monday to Friday, but for some reason I miss that job as an Amazon delivery driver.
It sounds a little better than factory work I've done... being shutup inside a building all day, breathing crappy dirty air, standing on concrete floors all day, dealing with stupid coworkers, having to bring your own tools because the company is too cheap, having to sweep floors or other shit jobs when work is slow. I guess there's trade offs of other stupid stuff you have to deal with though 🙁

Much respect to you. Peak for us was 200+ stops and 300+ packages. Started during Christmas. Yes, apartments sucked. I always changed my route and did those first and neighborhoods with schools 2nd so I didn’t hit that school traffic when it let out. Agree with you about the dogs. Good luck to you!
I really can't complain about any delivery I've had. Just watching them bring items that I would hate to haul home myself! I have so much respect for them. This has to be a challenging job.

I got 315 packages my first day ride along.
Thats crazy! I remember everything over 100 stops for fed ex home delivery was insane 22 years ago, I can't imagine doing 315. Only difference is I got 5 zip codes back then and now with everyone ordering online you get a small area to deliver.
