Great advice for Ubereats drivers starting out!. Awesome customer service is something that is often overlooked when delivering on an app. If you're willing to do it, you will stand out and that standing out often results in higher tips.
It is amazing how doing the extra little things, from a customer service standpoint, will help you with your tips and even if it doesn't increase your tip you still feel better at the end of the day.
I send a msg to customer "Glad you decided to stay home today. 🙂 Just picked up your meal! I'll bring it to you as fast as I can. Stay hungry 😜" and then when I deliver I send "Your Food is here :) Leaving it by your door as requested. Enjoy your meal! Please don't forget to rate my service. Thank you. Stay safe!! 😷"

I would say eats has evolved for the better over the last few years so I would recommend looking at it. I also recommend checking out my instacart videos as it is doing very well right now with people being very generous when it comes to tips
While you're doing a delivery and a new offer appears, it will not show that new customer's location or the miles for some reason. It will only show the new restaurant's location

Correct that is one of the changes uber made in that they now tell you how much you will make before you accept. That was part of what I went over in this video. And yes the app gets updates all the time and they do change the look so next month it will look different again. The card is being rolled out to the whole country over time and is not in every market yet

Good video. I just started a few weeks ago and they are pushing me to get the card but I do not want it. I want to go in and get the food and then deliver because this is all about time. Do not need to be ordering peoples food or worrying about paying for it. That is all benefit for Uber if you ask me.
I could not agree more. They are pushing it in a way to make it sound like it is good for the driver because it gives you more opportunities for orders but in reality it gives us more opportunities to sit around not making any money because we are waiting for the order.
Ive seen his other videos on postmates vs uber eats and I think postmates really shouldnt have the card and neither should uber because a lot of postmates users have said that they hate going in and ordering which is what they would make you do with the card
They did not introduce those changes here in Ontario yet,so you have to specify locations where those changes are made.There is no uber cards as well....
Yes you see it beforehand. A good tip is when you get a pay with card order only accept fast food orders because if you accept a non fast food order it will take a ton of time to make and the customer does not understand this nor will they adjust your tip because it take more time.
Will be interesting to see if it works in Australia as we aren't heavy tippers like America.I have however managed 1.5k of tips since starting UE in Australia.Tipping started here 15 months ago which was a few weeks after I started.I have customer service background so that helps and insulated bag from eatery to front door also helps :)

I just start using your system...sending a text after the delivery......thanking them and reminding about tipping is appreciated...my question, would they get the text after a completed the order on the app.....if not how long to wait before completing the order...I do uber eats and postmates
Yes they do get the text afterwords however I do send it as soon as possible after delivery. I increased my tips substantially after using this approach
I just got cleared to deliver for UE. Haven’t started yet, I have to get an insulated bag and drink carrrier but can’t decide which one to get. When dropping off, do you leave it at the front door or do you actually knock on their door and hand it to them? What about large apartment complexes? Do they leave instructions on how to find their apartment?
So the app will tell you whether to leave it at the door or if they want you to hand it to them. I always knock unless they put in specifically not to. As for the bags and drink carrier I would start doing deliveries before you go out and get those just to male sure you like it and get some income coming in before you buy stuff. Does that make sense?
@@Drivetowin13 never even thought to do that! I guess the main reason for being nervous is that I don’t personally use these delivery apps, and I’ve only used DD and IC a couple of times. UE is the only one that’s open right now, all others are closed to new drivers in my area. I’m going to try and pick up my own order. Genius!
Can you talk some more about how to develop the relationship with the restaurants in order to get free food for (customers?). or tell me where to look?
Yes they do on Uber eats but not doordash. I have also seen people who I hand it to me look directly at the cards and then reach in their purse or pocket and get tip money and give it to me.

I get a lot of grief for the prius but I'll tell you what when I pull up to the gas station and put $20 in it and then it tells me I don't have to put gas in it for another 550 miles. That is the moment I realize I just don't care about the grief I get....Go make that money

I just started with Uber eats this month, July 2020. I didn't receive a pay card and I called customer service. I was advised my account would not have access to a card? Just told not approved for one? Don't know if it's because I'm new.
My advice is hold out and don't get it until they make you get it. They say it can make you more money because it opens you up to more order. What it really means is it opens you up to orders that take 45 minutes and you still make your $4.00

Yes I am still adding the tic tacs as they are sealed. The way I look at it is if someone is trusting the employees and delivery driver to get them food then they don't care about a sealed mint, giving them the virus. If they do they can just leave it in the bag. I only get positive reactions from the mints
i drive for uber eats in orange county, california. theres a new thing to take a photo of the food left at the door when the customer requests that. not sure how it works, if after you choose "delivered" it automatically sends the customer the photo? also, when i deliver, i leave the customer a note saying i have arrived, and have a nice day. does the customer get this even after i select "delivered" or does it go away, like all their information goes away after "delivered" is selected?
I know this video was a couple months ago but I am now thinking about doing Ubereats but what do you think about someone doing Ubereats as there one and only job? Or do you think it's more realistic to do part-time? Thank you!
I recommend doing it part time to start out unless you are unemployed then give it everything you have. I started out doing it full time but also did passengers on uber and Lyft then added others as well such as postmates and instacart. I just started driving with Uber eats. Most customers are requesting their food to be left on the porch, Uber expects you to take a photo of it. But most people meet me at the door anyways. Uber wants you to take a photo of the bag on the porch. How do I get around that step? It’s very annoying. It’s taking me several minutes to bypass that step. Is this a mandatory step from Uber?

I signed up on a Thursday and was driving by Sunday morning. Would've been Saturday but they had trouble verifying my auto insurance. I'm in a super busy college town.
If you select our profile picture, then account then on that screen there is an option for plus card. If you select that option it will give you the ability to sign up for it. Since it is a new option uber may be rolling it out slowly and some markets might not have it yet. If yours does then it will show up there. Good luck on driving!
I got the card 7 months ago and never received an order for the card. Tried messaging Eats and keep getting auto response saying they deposited using my debit card lol...smh so i gave up asking them why i don't get orders
After you’ve signed up with a delivery app like UberEats, will you then be able to use another SIM card (in your mobile phone) that has another mobile phone nr. than the mobile phone nr. you gave them when you signed up? eg one that has much more mobile internet data allowence on it. Would you then still be able to log in and ride your deliveries?
I noticed you've made Postmates videos as well. Do you run both the Postmates and Uber Eats app at the same time and just accept whichever order comes in first?
Yes it all depends on the time of day but sometimes I'll have Lyft, Uber, Ubereats, postmates and instacart all running at the same time. If I am focusing on food delivery I absolutely will run postmates and ubereats at the same time unless one is giving a promo

Haha no it does not. The 13 actually comes from my favorite, childhood, hero Dan Marino(number 13) and he had a drive to win like no one I had ever seen other than Michael Jordan.
I currently deliver for Uber eats, Postmates and Instacart. I also drive passengers with Uber and Lyft plus I have a full time Airbnb and rent cars on Turo. Keeps me pretty busy.
Is it a good ideo to offer them some refreshment and card with food? Will it really help in tip? Do company have any objection in doing this, i mean if we offer them refreshment with thier delivery do company says us anything?
I agree to some degree however with instacart you see the tip amount before you accept so I do not believe refreshments will do much for adding to the tip however really good service and speed will.
I think there’s a little confusion on Uber’s new pay card so maybe you can clarify what new drivers like myself will need to do. Listening to your video, I’m not sure if I want to apply for for the card, but will Uber send you orders that requires paying for orders? I’m hoping this is something that drivers will know before accepting an order.
In most markets you are not required to have the card and if you do not have the card then you will only receive orders that do not require a card. Does that make sense?

Depending on your location you may not be able to see the destination of the customer before you accept the delivery. As for texting the customer once you are in the delivery you can select the customers name and the option to text and call will come up.

Haha I’ve already ordered my bags on amazon and I haven’t even been approved yet. So far all I have seen is that they have given me the green done check marks. I know I don’t need them yet but I’d rather have them on there way now then get approved and deliver my first order with no bag. Don’t really want to deliver cold food that’s supposed to be hot. And plus amazon can be really slow and late with orders we’re I live.

Hey when trying to watch the map of the order in an other app say Facebook or TH-cam when waiting for an order because that what I do when waiting. Minutes later an order pop up in another app but I cant see the map so when trying to get back to the uber app I cant, what I am trying to say in order for me to see the map of the order I need to stay on the app all the time. I have time picking long distance because of this
Yes there is a timer in the app and you must rest at least 6 hours after working 12 however that is actual movement hours, what I mean by that is if you are sitting at home with the app running it is not counting against the 12 until you have a delivery and are actually out doing it. I have worked some really long days and have never come close to hitting that 12 hour mark

I added a second vehicle and it was automatically on there. Is it possible that the second vehicle does not qualify? Uber should be able to help you if you call them.
Hi there , i just started with uber eats few days ago. if you work as a full time do you have to declare yourself AS self employed to pay taxes ? or this does not really matter ?
You are self employed regardless of full time status and you will pay taxes as a sub contractor. It is very important that you keep track of miles and anything you purchase as it can all be written on taxes and believe me it makes a huge difference

Hello. I am a bit confused. I got an Uber Visa card when I signed up with Uber back in September but I was under the impression that the card was an alternate form of getting paid as per say your bank account. I have opted for a couple of earning payments to go into my card and by watching this video I am finding out Uber wants you to pay for customers food at the restaurant with an Uber card if requested by customer. Now is that to be done by using the same card or they would be issuing another card specifically for that. I am not a fan of paying for customer's food on site with an issued Uber card, too much wasted time and inconvenient. Please advice. Thank you.
So there are two different thing Uber does have an Uber bank card that gives you cash bank on fuel and they also now have a card to pay for uber eats food. They are definitely two different cards. I do not like the food paying card at all.
I have a question about ratings that hopefully someone can explain. I have read so much information from various times periods that it is hard to know what is current and what has changed since then. Does Uber track acceptance rates and cancellation rates in 2020? If so how do you see those rates all I can find is my customer and restaurant ratings. Someone said that I hadn't done enough trips but I'm just under 1,000 trips so how many does it take to see acceptance/cancellations if that is the case. I have also read that Uber no longer keeps up with acceptance rates but will stop you from getting requests for a certain period of time say for 15 minutes if you refuse to many in a row. I have also read that you can cancel prior to picking up food after 15 minutes with no penalty. I have called Uber support after 15 minutes and they have canceled from their end for me and paid me 2-5 bucks for my effort. Other times they tell me I have to cancel and I don't get paid anything and that it does count against my cancellation rating which leads me to believe they do track cancels. I'm in a college town and it is not unusual to see crazy wait times at pretty much every restaurant for example wife really wanted food from a particular restaurant so no chance of declining that one LOL so I literally waited for 2 hours in a drive thru on a Tuesday night at 1130 PM and it wasn't McDonald's or Taco Bell. Eventually you almost have to take orders knowing that you will probably have an extended wait or else just go home and this can happen anytime starting at about 11 AM until 3 AM. Any current information would be awesome thank you in advance.

I have actually been pretty successful with calling the resturanunt and having an employee bring the food out to me. This has been very effective when there is a long drive thru line

Uber has pretty much turned off the invite codes nation wide so you might not be able to find it at the moment. If you can find it you will probably only get $10 anyway

I promise you even if you could you would not make enough money doing this to make it worth the rent. If you are trying to get going and are wanting to buy a car I would start with bicycle orders and save money for a cheap car that qualifies.
@@rosiecortez6763 The only way the rental services work is if you do this full time and bring in at least $200 per day. Everyone's financial situation is different but ive never had anyone tell me that they were happy they did the rental. I purchased a prius and the gas savings makes my payments.

Its $ right now 57 out of the last 60 I got tips on. The other night I did $213 in about 6 hrs

I shoot in 1080p however with this video I hit the wrong preset during editing and didn't realize it until it was already uploaded.

@@ckiker72 Best thing to do is do a trial run. Try ordering from McDonald's but be close to McDonald's and try and accept your own order.

You do not have to have the card, that is one of many things I like about Uber over Postmats.

I just started with Uber eats this month, July 2020. I didn't receive a pay card and I called customer service. I was advised my account would not have access to a card? Just told not approved for one? Don't know if it's because I'm new.
The pay card is not in all markets yet so it could also be that as well.

My advice is hold out and don't get it until they make you get it. They say it can make you more money because it opens you up to more order. What it really means is it opens you up to orders that take 45 minutes and you still make your $4.00

No you do not however I do recommend having one. It helps with tips and ratings.

Yes I am still adding the tic tacs as they are sealed. The way I look at it is if someone is trusting the employees and delivery driver to get them food then they don't care about a sealed mint, giving them the virus. If they do they can just leave it in the bag. I only get positive reactions from the mints
I summit my uber application last Friday how long it does take for the all process to be completed.
If I remember right it took about a week however it might take longer now due to the virus issues.

i drive for uber eats in orange county, california. theres a new thing to take a photo of the food left at the door when the customer requests that. not sure how it works, if after you choose "delivered" it automatically sends the customer the photo?
also, when i deliver, i leave the customer a note saying i have arrived, and have a nice day. does the customer get this even after i select "delivered" or does it go away, like all their information goes away after "delivered" is selected?
That has been in my market for quite awhile and yes itcsend the customer the photo as soon as you select delivered.

I recommend doing it part time to start out unless you are unemployed then give it everything you have. I started out doing it full time but also did passengers on uber and Lyft then added others as well such as postmates and instacart. Each market is different and I know they have been rolling it out all over the country. My guess is Q1 of 2021 as they will be merging with postmates.

I just started driving with Uber eats. Most customers are requesting their food to be left on the porch, Uber expects you to take a photo of it. But most people meet me at the door anyways. Uber wants you to take a photo of the bag on the porch. How do I get around that step? It’s very annoying. It’s taking me several minutes to bypass that step. Is this a mandatory step from Uber?
In that case I just tell the customer I gotta take a quick picture since you marked leave at the door.

How long does it take for you to get going once you sign up to deliver with UE?
It usualy takes 7-10 days for the background check to clear, once that clears you are good to go.
It only took me about 12 hours to get signed up and approved for everything
I signed up on a Thursday and was driving by Sunday morning. Would've been Saturday but they had trouble verifying my auto insurance. I'm in a super busy college town.

If you select our profile picture, then account then on that screen there is an option for plus card. If you select that option it will give you the ability to sign up for it. Since it is a new option uber may be rolling it out slowly and some markets might not have it yet. If yours does then it will show up there. Good luck on driving!

After you’ve signed up with a delivery app like UberEats, will you then be able to use another SIM card (in your mobile phone) that has another mobile phone nr. than the mobile phone nr. you gave them when you signed up? eg one that has much more mobile internet data allowence on it. Would you then still be able to log in and ride your deliveries?
It does not matter what phone you log into but you will have to verify that it is your account by taking a picture of yourself when logging in.
I noticed you've made Postmates videos as well. Do you run both the Postmates and Uber Eats app at the same time and just accept whichever order comes in first?
Yes it all depends on the time of day but sometimes I'll have Lyft, Uber, Ubereats, postmates and instacart all running at the same time. If I am focusing on food delivery I absolutely will run postmates and ubereats at the same time unless one is giving a promo

Do you deliver for DoorDash Grubhub Postmates?
I currently deliver for Uber eats, Postmates and Instacart. I also drive passengers with Uber and Lyft plus I have a full time Airbnb and rent cars on Turo. Keeps me pretty busy.
Is it a good ideo to offer them some refreshment and card with food? Will it really help in tip? Do company have any objection in doing this, i mean if we offer them refreshment with thier delivery do company says us anything?
I agree to some degree however with instacart you see the tip amount before you accept so I do not believe refreshments will do much for adding to the tip however really good service and speed will.

I think there’s a little confusion on Uber’s new pay card so maybe you can clarify what new drivers like myself will need to do. Listening to your video, I’m not sure if I want to apply for for the card, but will Uber send you orders that requires paying for orders? I’m hoping this is something that drivers will know before accepting an order.
In most markets you are not required to have the card and if you do not have the card then you will only receive orders that do not require a card. Does that make sense?

No drivers do not see your profile picture at least as of now. That could change in the future but right now we do not.

Depending on your location you may not be able to see the destination of the customer before you accept the delivery. As for texting the customer once you are in the delivery you can select the customers name and the option to text and call will come up.

Adding a new car is done right in app just go to add vehicle. However to remove a vehicle you have to contact uber.
So my son had to renew his uber eats after a year of driving everything looks like it went thru even they told him it was a go but it wasn’t they keep telling him they are working on it, is there a problem going on with that? It’s been over a month. Please if any one can help. Thanks.

Haha I’ve already ordered my bags on amazon and I haven’t even been approved yet. So far all I have seen is that they have given me the green done check marks. I know I don’t need them yet but I’d rather have them on there way now then get approved and deliver my first order with no bag. Don’t really want to deliver cold food that’s supposed to be hot. And plus amazon can be really slow and late with orders we’re I live.

Each market is different. When you sign up it will go through all the requirments for your location.
Hey when trying to watch the map of the order in an other app say Facebook or TH-cam when waiting for an order because that what I do when waiting.
Minutes later an order pop up in another app but I cant see the map so when trying to get back to the uber app I cant, what I am trying to say in order for me to see the map of the order I need to stay on the app all the time.

Yes I will.
Is there an hour limit on how many hours you are allowed to work per day?
Yes there is a timer in the app and you must rest at least 6 hours after working 12 however that is actual movement hours, what I mean by that is if you are sitting at home with the app running it is not counting against the 12 until you have a delivery and are actually out doing it. I have worked some really long days and have never come close to hitting that 12 hour mark

You are self employed regardless of full time status and you will pay taxes as a sub contractor. It is very important that you keep track of miles and anything you purchase as it can all be written on taxes and believe me it makes a huge difference

Hello. I am a bit confused. I got an Uber Visa card when I signed up with Uber back in September but I was under the impression that the card was an alternate form of getting paid as per say your bank account. I have opted for a couple of earning payments to go into my card and by watching this video I am finding out Uber wants you to pay for customers food at the restaurant with an Uber card if requested by customer. Now is that to be done by using the same card or they would be issuing another card specifically for that. I am not a fan of paying for customer's food on site with an issued Uber card, too much wasted time and inconvenient. Please advice. Thank you.
So there are two different thing Uber does have an Uber bank card that gives you cash bank on fuel and they also now have a card to pay for uber eats food. They are definitely two different cards. I do not like the food paying card at all.

You pick your own hours. Because its food delivery I usually pick the hours of 5:00pm - 9:00pm

Why is it sometimes the dropoff logo in the app is "red" and sometimes it's "gray"?
Before you accept the trip it is gray once you accept the trip the drop off turns red.

I have a question about ratings that hopefully someone can explain. I have read so much information from various times periods that it is hard to know what is current and what has changed since then. Does Uber track acceptance rates and cancellation rates in 2020? If so how do you see those rates all I can find is my customer and restaurant ratings. Someone said that I hadn't done enough trips but I'm just under 1,000 trips so how many does it take to see acceptance/cancellations if that is the case. I have also read that Uber no longer keeps up with acceptance rates but will stop you from getting requests for a certain period of time say for 15 minutes if you refuse to many in a row. I have also read that you can cancel prior to picking up food after 15 minutes with no penalty. I have called Uber support after 15 minutes and they have canceled from their end for me and paid me 2-5 bucks for my effort. Other times they tell me I have to cancel and I don't get paid anything and that it does count against my cancellation rating which leads me to believe they do track cancels.
I'm in a college town and it is not unusual to see crazy wait times at pretty much every restaurant for example wife really wanted food from a particular restaurant so no chance of declining that one LOL so I literally waited for 2 hours in a drive thru on a Tuesday night at 1130 PM and it wasn't McDonald's or Taco Bell. Eventually you almost have to take orders knowing that you will probably have an extended wait or else just go home and this can happen anytime starting at about 11 AM until 3 AM. Any current information would be awesome thank you in advance.

As long as you are 19 years old or older yes you can. If you are 18 you can sign up for postmates.

I promise you even if you could you would not make enough money doing this to make it worth the rent. If you are trying to get going and are wanting to buy a car I would start with bicycle orders and save money for a cheap car that qualifies.

@@rosiecortez6763 The only way the rental services work is if you do this full time and bring in at least $200 per day. Everyone's financial situation is different but ive never had anyone tell me that they were happy they did the rental. I purchased a prius and the gas savings makes my payments.
