A7SIII Im a youtuber and long video its a MUST, ZV E1 overheats even on 24p 4K. The FX30 does a better job... for my the ZVE1 its a bad camera with lots of IA features a pro will never use.
Just starting out, and purchased the ZV-E1 to simplify the filming process, as a one person creator. Nervous about being in front of the camera and the software is intriguing if it can eliminate my "umms" "you know" and "and that stuff" that grates on people's nerves in daily conversation, to quote Robin Hood, "The king is dead. Long live the king!" If the software can kill my mental pauses, it may be worth it's weight in gold.
Interestingly, I've actually decided to get the ZV-E1. I've wanted to get an A7SIII because of low light. I'm actually trading in my FX30 towards it. For my use case, it seems really useful to toss it in my bag along with my A7RV and share lenses. It seems easier for my fiance to use compared to the FX30 and has options that I feel compliments the A7RV and fits in my bag. The time bolt is cool.
I'm thinking of getting the ZV-E1 too. Have you had it for a while and would you still go with it? Any issues with it over heating? I'd use mainly for nature photography.
@@belleanna09 if it's just photos, I feel like a diff camera would be better. As a TH-camr. I will stick to my A7S3. The ZV E1 doesn't handle heat as well as the Sony A7S3. The colours, and quality in general is way superior on the A7S3. In my opinion the Sony A7S3 it's still the King. In spite of all the commercial hype. The ZV E1 is a cheaper, less reliable camera. There's a reason why most pro TH-camrs use the Sony A7S3
The color and image quality of the zv e1 are identical to that of the a7siii. The e1 has better AF, better stabilization, better audio, and is smaller and lighter. But it overheats in some modes. A firmware update is not going to improve the stabilization or AF on the a7s iii since these rely on the ai chip. Can't improve the audio either. Video pros use the fx3, not the a7siii. And that got firmware updates that still did not change the AF or stabilization. Focus breathing compensation was added.
I was narrowing down my very long term decision on getting the ZVE1 however many of the reviews are negative. Overheating mainly, now I'm more than confused what to purchase 😢😢😢😢😢? I mainly want a camera for vlogging and nothing bigger than this camera.
Hi.. nice video man.. 👍 and regarding Timebolt.. I mostly shoot client talking head shots for their TH-cam channels. And believe me, there is a lot of umm, pause and all. It’s so time taking removing them manually. I wish to use Timebolt just to get rid of those removing process so that I can actually concentrate on the creative part of the video. So that’s it. Have I entered to the giveaway already.. 😃🤟
Hey there, thanks so much. Yes, i understand the struggle with the "umms" and pauses. Timebolt would suit you well. I have entered you into the giveaway.
I bought the ZVE1 and I took it on a hiking trip. I was unable to shoot properly. After 30mins it was overheating and it was impossible for me to use it. I will be sticking to my A7S3. As you said. We just need an update!
I would def use that software because I am the “umm” king and sadly why I don’t post much of the videos I’ve made on TH-cam but I’m working to get better all the same. I prob do about 12 hours of editing weekly
@@thefilmalliance Now I own a zv e10 (selected bcs of your reviews, amazing cam.... Thankuu) So, as an upgrade I would prefer an A7SIII...... Anyway Nice comparison...... Keep going❤️
Of course the a7siii is a more professional camera. No viewfinder is a deal breaker with the zv-1, but also they are not targeted towards the same audience. . Id love to jump into one of these cameras, but Im going to work on my filming and editing first. I'm a little slow on the editing front. I use FCPX and love it, I'll love it more as I become more efficient. I spent a day programming a stream deck to help with that. In an effort to enter your give away, I think Timebolt could help me a lot. I am an over the road trucker, and like you, I am trying to stand apart in this niche. I don't script so therefore my footage is packed with dead air and the most annoying vocalized pause you can imagine....... uh, I say "you know" a lot!!!!!!! Anywho! I love your content and I appreciate the time and effort you put into your videos. They are really good!
Thanks so much for all of the support. So glad that you have been with me for so long. I have entered you into the contest. How long do you usually edit per week?
@@thefilmalliance 5-15 hours per video. Im such a rookie. I have 1 up and 1 unlisted. I toured a manufacturing plant so I have to make some modifications. I envy your final vids. They look really good.
Yes, I hear you on all of that. I will also stick to my A7S3. Although, I might rent the Zve1 to test it out. So, you are not considering it at all?
@@thefilmalliance thank you man..
What's up, man? you won the time bolt contest, Congratulations. Can you send over a DM on my Insta?
@@thefilmalliance wow.. that’s great.. thank you for this huge opportunity.. 🙏
Solo youtuber vs team youtuber ; How the decision on camera is made...
A7SIII just need good firmware update! ZVE1 is toy, great and fun to use before it overheat...
I can’t agree more. Come on Sony. Give us an update. Do you have the A7Siii?
@@thefilmalliance Unfortunately not, out of my budget.
I bought the ZVE1 and I took it on a hiking trip. I was unable to shoot properly. After 30mins it was overheating and it was impossible for me to use it. I will be sticking to my A7S3. As you said. We just need an update!
Man that stinks, yes we need definitely need an update.
@@LearnSpanishWorldzv-e1 is my primary cam for wedding video and never had overheating problems…even when shooting 1h-1h30 ceremony…
I would def use that software because I am the “umm” king and sadly why I don’t post much of the videos I’ve made on TH-cam but I’m working to get better all the same. I prob do about 12 hours of editing weekly
Hi Dave, you are entered into the giveaway. I feel you on the um thing. Time bolt would definitely suit you well.
I’m subscribing to Fuji xH2s
Nice, have you shot with it yet?
@@thefilmalliance
Not yet. I’m still watching independent reviews. Stacked sensors and improved autofocus are big sell points per those tried it.
Nice
Thanks
I am going to do a much worse version of this video 🤣🤣
Everyone knows your videos are top tier. Please keep in touch with us small guys on your way to the top

ZV -1 Is the in his bedroom ignoring all the ZV-E1 hype.
Hahaha, so true.
bro..I beg to differ...I bleed SONY! but,. YOU... my friend, is why you have close to 30k followers. Peace!🤙😎🤙
Oh thanks, what cameras do you have?
1st🙌🏻🙌🏻
1st reply here. Which one do you like better?
@@thefilmalliance Now I own a zv e10 (selected bcs of your reviews, amazing cam.... Thankuu) So, as an upgrade I would prefer an A7SIII...... Anyway Nice comparison...... Keep going❤️
Thanks Sharon. I really appreciate it.
Of course the a7siii is a more professional camera. No viewfinder is a deal breaker with the zv-1, but also they are not targeted towards the same audience. . This obsession that every time Sony comes out with a new camera our 2 year old camera becomes obsolete is bullsh---. No new feature is going to transform you into a génial cinematographer. Stick with what you've got and start creating.
I’ve twice put the ZV-E1 in my cart with the 20-40 2.8 Tamron😭 That plus a SD card and it’s over $3300. Love those AI modes tho 😂
Yes the Ai modes are great. So you cant decide whether you should buy it or not? I am like that too right now.
@@thefilmalliance I feel like this camera will overheat in places like the South using 4K60+ Gerald Undone testing it in 72 is like a Winter day in some parts 😂
@@dccoletrain Haha, very true
@@dccoletrain you should go for the fx30!
@@roxisarobot it seems like a nice camera. I own Fuji glass so I’m tempted to buy a used XH2S. Definitely NOT Sony AF though
I really like both cameras, hard decision
I know Mike, it is a hard decision. What is your decision though?
Seems like this shouldn’t be a legitimate question.
Why don’t you think?
