Exactly! I was just a hobbyist with a rebel t7 and I finally decided to try getting into the industry after being pushed by family and friends. But I can't afford an expensive camera so I got a couple lenses and I make it work till I get my new camera. So far haven't had any complaints on quality from clients!
I’ve used most of the brands, but when it came to buying the gear myself, I chose Sony over Canon in most cases. I’m a photographer first and Sony has never failed me and even my old a6000 and a7r2 still outperforms some newer cameras with video af. Their third party lens options are a major determining factor for me as many of those lenses perform as good or better than first party lenses from other camera manufacturers on their own bodies. I still like my Canon gear as well as some others though.
Was a Canon shooter for 20+ years. After the switch from EF to RF and no incusion of 3rd party lenses. I decided I would try a Sony A7 IV at the same time as I owned my Canon R6. I ended up selling all my canon gear for Sony. Why? I could buy much more lenses for the same price of just a couple of Canon RF lenses.
@@TechThroughTheLens you already have 3rd party on rf too, so I don't understand your point... G-masters are same as L, non lenses are cheap and there are many of them

I'm currently looking at replacing my 5D mk IV and this is a huge consideration for me as well. Love those Sigma and Tamron options, and honestly pretty frustrated that Canon has gone this route. It's absolutely a factor in my decision to possibly go Sony.
I have a Canon R8. It takes amazing photos and videos. You need to get good glass. You have to do that with any camera. I’ve had no problem editing using Adobe software.
The hardest part about doing videos like this, is that the content is almost immediately outdated. It’s just how technology works, no fault of your own. That being said, I would to seen an update which includes where Canon is today (as it relates to autofocus) with the R5MKII and R1. Your approach was the best, btw. Not just another person complaining about how a camera manufacturer isn’t keeping up with their individual desires and that’s why Brand x wins or “that’s why I switching…”.
Im happy it resonated. I tried to make it relevant for even future updates. Because i took into account what trajectory each of the brands was on. I doubt canon is suddenly going to start making zv style cameras tomorrow
You forgot to mention something about Sony and 3rd party lenses. Sony cameras that can shoot faster than 15fps has that capped off lower if you use 3rd party. I run an R7 and adapt lenses, including 3rd party with absolutely zero issues. Even an older EF 70-200 F2.8L version 2 has very fast and accurate AF on that R7. The only lense I have AF issues with is the Sigma 150-600C, where it loses subject at the 600 end quite easily. I do wish it had better low light performance, but it's not bad for a Canon APS-C. I do have plans to eventually grab an R6mkII. I am still, for the most part, happy going Canon since my first camera over 16 years ago with the RebelXT.
You neglected to mention that with Canon’s EF to RF adapter you can use any Canon or third party EF lenses, so you have much more choice. Stating that you can only use Canon lenses on Canon mirrorless cameras is misleading.

Zv E10-2 or Canom R8? First time buyer looking for hybrid with 80% video shoots, for youtube long format video and short bootstraped movie creations. But a single video clip duration should not be greater than 15 mins, looking for a long term option which I can ehnace with lens and toolsets later on. 99% videos will be shot indoors under controlled lightings.
Great question. SO the zve10 mk ii is alot cheaper than the r8 . And while the r8 is more expensive it has much better specs. The r8 on paper is better in almost everyway. however the r8 actually has a shorter battery and the canon rf mounts limits you to canon lenses. The r8 is definitly the better camera IF you want full frame sensor. But if you don't need full frame and are not shooting cinematic content. I would say get the a6700 instead. its basically a better vbersion of the zve10 mk ii but has a better battery life and better argonomics compared to the r8
Been with Canon for a bit. Holding on to my 5DMk IV. Wondering if now is the time to jump to the dark side with Sony or pony up for the Canon R line. I do love those rich creamy Canon photos. Feels like Apple Vs Android. Funny enough I’m looking potentially jump from Apple to android. My 15 pro max was not quite what i thought it would be for the money. Great video btw. thank-you i really appreciate the kind words. I would say hold onto your 5d mk IV and only upgrade if you want better video, faster shooting or better lenses. Otherwise the 5d mk IV is a gem of a camera

But again nowadays what the ... is that to say that Canon is lagging behind in terms of video quality? Tell me a similar price point what Sony camera can do 4K uncropped?? Man seriously even the new Sony A7 Mark 4 cannot do that! While the Canon R8 which is less than half the price of it can do it! I mean come on!

All Sony propaganda by a Sony fanboy! You can COMBINE all the major 3rd party lens maker + all the Chinese brands….and still will not match the shear volume of over 150 million EF glasses out there, that will seamlessly adapt to an RF body, no issues whatsoever!
I was gonna choke when you said Sony AF system is simply better... You ever used a Canon R8 or R6 Mark2? No seriously the R8 is cheaper than most Sony mirrorless apart from the ones which are 6 years plus older. 5 years later after coming out the Canon R8 is is cheaper than the A7 iii Sony. And for having used both the AF and the R8 in terms of the eye tracking beats the sh*** out of the Sony.
If you want to shoot only photo go for Nikon
If both Photo and Video go for Canon
If only video go for Sony
Been with Canon for a bit. Holding on to my 5DMk IV. Wondering if now is the time to jump to the dark side with Sony or pony up for the Canon R line. I do love those rich creamy Canon photos. Feels like Apple Vs Android. Funny enough I’m looking potentially jump from Apple to android. My 15 pro max was not quite what i thought it would be for the money. Great video btw. Played out the pros & cons well without being too biased.
thank-you i really appreciate the kind words. I would say hold onto your 5d mk IV and only upgrade if you want better video, faster shooting or better lenses. Otherwise the 5d mk IV is a gem of a camera
Wait for r5 m2
Question, where does Nikon Z series fall into? Interms of photo and video.....
Nikon is like the dark horse thats going to be making waves. the line up isnt consistent in quality and value all the way throuhg. But if in a year or so as new cameras come in, nikon will be a top 3 brand in cameras
which one is best for photo & 120 fps FHD Video r6ii ot Zf
easily the r6 mk ii
Please add chapters to your videos.
esor r5 or r6mk2 for photography
Just oh my god maybe a few years ago Canon cameras fair enough were totally lacking behind in terms of video quality.
Sony always want people to look the way they are in phone and their cameras 📸
Sony alpha 7iii or canon r8 😢i am confused any help 😅
1000% for the canon r8. The only downside is that small battery but for the most part its better in every way
@@TechThroughTheLens thanks a lot 😊
@@MohamadNeameh make sure check out r7.
@@andyuong91 i am asked you because now canon r8 1999$ on sale and cheaper than r7 about 500$ , r7 2499$
@@MohamadNeameh I don't know where you see those price. Maybe with the kit lens but I don't recommend those just get the body only maybe. Save money for better lenses
Short Answer : Sony
Long Answer : Canon
Short Long Answer : Nikon
Even longer answer. Nikon and sony camera body with sony lenses. You can also use sony lenses on nikon with an adapter.
Sony makes camera sensors for iPhones
And they make the sensors for Fujifilm (and possibly other brands but I’m not sure)
@@Ttjam1Panasonic? Very similar
whats with the black spots on the left?
As usual amazing content 🎉
thankyou
Great content, but why is your video soooo washed out?
I just gotta improve that set up
nikon for video internal raw, for photo stack sensor, z8 z9
i agree
damn, sony is good with it's auto focus? that's a first lol
they have incredible autofocus
I like my clients the most $$$$. Cameras are just tools
Sony a1 updating soon pls make a video if still relevant thank you.
I have not heard anything about the a1. But i think more than likely instead of upgrading the a1. We will get a cinema version of that camera. Like the FX3 body but witht he a1 sensor
@@TechThroughTheLens thank you for your thoughts, is the a1 Worth 4000 British pounds brand new? What's your thought
Nikon better thn Both 🤣
Nikon vs sony coming up
Nikon using Sony sensors in new cameras like Z8. So Sony does technical better Nikon does how camera feels better. If Nikon will be bought by Sony or they will collaborate that will makw ultimate camera.
I like Sony better
Pentax!!!
Thanks
Welcome
Lumix
sony cameras looks cooler
LOL i like the curves ont he canon, But i see your point
All FF Sony cameras has the same design idea. Canon in the other hand cannot even decide when to place on/off button 😂
Sony>> Canon
Canon ....😎
All Sony propaganda by a Sony fanboy! You can COMBINE all the major 3rd party lens maker + all the Chinese brands….and still will not match the shear volume of over 150 million EF glasses out there, that will seamlessly adapt to an RF body, no issues whatsoever!
So you wanna by a new camera and use lenses made 10 years okay. If you compare a rf lens to a ef the difference is massive
the answer is nikon
Honestly maybe, i just played witht he z8 and holy smokes that a cool cameras
You didn’t mention battery life 🙂??
each camera has a different battery . so it depends on your model
@@TechThroughTheLens some people say that canon has poor battery life compared to sony .so I wonder if that’s true or not 😗
CANON IS DEAD!!!)
Long live SONNY!!!!!!!
I don't know if i would go as far as dead. Canon is still thriving
Hello can i get your attention pls
howdy
I was gonna choke when you said Sony AF system is simply better... You ever used a Canon R8 or R6 Mark2? No seriously the R8 is cheaper than most Sony mirrorless apart from the ones which are 6 years plus older. 5 years later after coming out the Canon R8 is is cheaper than the A7 iii Sony. And for having used both the AF and the R8 in terms of the eye tracking beats the sh*** out of the Sony.
At this level this is either complete clumsiness from you or complete dishonesty I don't know what to go for?
Long answer: SONY
Even longer answer: nikon
I will be financially secure!!! 🩷😇
Buying camera make us financially insecure LOL
