    The seaweed soak has made the diff between life and death for the succulents that i have. I also liked this idea of putting same needs new suucs in a larger pot. Sometimes i forget where the new one went. The frog is keeping the poor canthe company. It ds have a cute smile. Thank you for the video. I like the camera tripod or something which u r using that allows you to work and film toox

    I think the plant is a Crassula muscosa commonly known as watch chain or zipper plant.
    I too, on a trip to bunnings couldn't resist the sedum desert black.
    And have remnants of a cottage garden still growing with a few irises and various other plants. I have planted many succulents in the garden beds now. I think Australian natives and grasses or strappy leaf plants are good companions for succulents. Happy gardening

      A very clever lady commented below with the right ID. Crassula schimperi subsp. phyturus. Happy weekend gardening to you too!

      @@GrowingSucculentswithLizK I'm going to have to check the few I've got and see if I've actually got both. I was close, being a crassula, ha ha. Similar from a distance but close up the formation of the leaves is very different indeed. I do like crassula, except the rust/fungal issues they get if the leaves get too much water on them.

      @@GrowingSucculentswithLizK wow oh wow, I had a look and I've got 3 different types of these crassula, the muscosa, the schimperi and one that's similar to both. I will try and see which one it is. I never really examined them closely and thought they were all the same. But......no no no, all different but look very similar from a distance. Wouldn't have realized this were it not for your video. Thanks

    Liz in action! I love it!! I can't believe you soak the succulents. I'm scared to do that...In Hawaii, maybe it's too humid, but if water gets on the leaves, I have to use a puffer or they'll rot. I have to use 95 percent just pumice for soil.

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can't imagine me running around the garden every day with a garden blower to blow off the water on my succulents. I like to do as mother nature does. I'm sure she doesn't have someone out in the wild running around with a puffer every time it rains. 😊

    Fun fun! It’s been a while since I’ve been able to watch a video of yours. I’ve been so crazy busy. I can never get over how many plants you have. I need to catch up. I’m curious about this cat litter soil mix. Every time I watch I always want several of the plants I see, they are so pretty.

      @@GrowingSucculentswithLizK yep. I saw that. They are soooo beautiful when growing. All long thin feathery leaves emerge in spring but roots have been seen to grow 15 feet into the ground. They were around with the dinosaurs. They should be lovely. 👍

    Hi Liz, I love your videos! Do you rinse/spray the succulents with water after the methylated spirits? Or leave the metho on the succulents? I'm worried spraying metho on the roots will kill the plant. What % metho do you use? Thanks!

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use diggers methylated spirit from bunnings. 1 cup metho, 1/4 water and I never rinse them. No burning at all even on indoor plants and leaf props.

      The brand I use is called Chandler. Cat litter made up of ATTAPULGITE. This is a highly water absorbent non-swelling clay material with self-dispersing characteristics.
