You have been so busy renovating for the past months and you had the cold drafts coming in everywhere of cause your plants are struggling. You did the best you could in non ideal conditions. Beautiful collection of Hoya Roos! 💚💚💚🌱🌿🪴 Natalie
Thank you lovely! Slowly getting the plants back to happy, can't wait for spring
Hi Roos, it's just Hoya reality! It's not only you who has troubles! And it's "good" to see as well, because sometimes it lookes like the social plant commutity only has beautufull growing plants. It's not the season to go cut my plants, but towards spring i will cut a piece of my carrii and root it for you, if you want it. That plant i bought because of you and is doing well in my Milsbo cabinet. 😘 I wish there was a spell to get rid of mealies 🤣
Oh my gosh you're so generous! That would be amazing, maybe we can make a nice trade. Send me a DM or email please, when you're ready! Thank you so much ❤️
Is goed Roos, zal ook goed microscopen op mijten en mealies. Zag net dat mijn carrii ernstig toe is aan nieuwe pot dus zodra dagen wat langer zijn knip ik er een paar mooie stekken af.
Love this video! Really appreciate your dedication to the 2 parts of it! Nicely done! Keep up your hard work! ❤and I love your energy... and the way you talk! Your significant other was so cute talking in the background 😂❤
Awww thank you so much! Haha yeah he's a funny guy 😅 glad to hear you liked this one 🙌❤️
I'm in summer and having an amazing time with many hoya in bloom, lots for the first time ❤ definitely bringing me buckets of joy
Thanks for the effort that went into this x
That's so exciting, great job!! I can't wait for more light and warmth 😅❤️
Mine are just growing like crazy in hot SA. 💚🌿🌱
Loving this type of video! Thanks for sharing your collection. Excited to see how everything grows for you this new year!
thank you so much! it's so fun to see it for myself too
What an extensive collection ❤ Looking forward to more hoya plant care videos. They always inspire me take better care of my own plants.
Thank you! Yeah it's been a big one since very early on, I went hard 😅
Wow, the work that you put in this vidéo ! Love your looong ones and love your hoya collection, it's giving me ideas for future purchases! 😅
Do not feel down for your struggling hoyas, things happen and it's not the end of the world, you can always find new cutings. You must always prioritise your self! Thank you for this very interesting vidéo 💚
thank you so much! yes, self care over plant care always!
Hi Roos! I couldn't believe the length of the video. It really made my morning 😊 I'm currently sick again and while I mostly think that my collection is fine, except my Hoyas on my windowsill 😂 they are mostly in semihydro and I just can't bring myself to do more than water them 🙃 I hope I don't have a hoya graveyard soon
Awww I'm so sorry you're sick, get well soon! I'm sure the plants will be fine. Thanks so much for watching!
Roos this video is fantastic! It must have taken such a long time to edit! Very impressed with your dedication to the video ❤ thank you ❤ sending pest free vibes your way! 🎉
Thank you so much lovely!
Thank you for this update. Really appreciate videos like this that show plant growth over a longer period of time 🌱🕰️🪴
Pot stability for Hoyas: coverpots or 2 (bamboo) hoop trellises crossed and tied together where they cross (or both)
(I love Hoya waymaniae 😉)
So funny… Im not loving my really bushy New Guinea Ghost as much as others either 😅
Shes staying though, I think my mind will change again
The “old fashioned” sharing plants, giving friends cuttings, things like that what our parents and perhaps grandparents did… I hope the world of houseplants will go back to that…
I don’t mind sharing at all, but in this current “houseplant climate” I feel like people will take advantage of it 😅

Oh my gosh you have some amazing ones!! And yes I'd love to receive lida buis if you are willing to send a cutting, so generous! Maybe we can do a trade, do you have instagram to message? Or email contact@plantwithroos.com 🙌❤️
Watched this video all the way through. It was nice to see so many different plants up close. I have also become more discerning when purchasing hoya, but did ID some I would like. Really enjoy your personality. You are a breath of fresh air.
Thank youuuu! So kind 🤭❤️🙏🏻
Oh my. It’s so sad to see a lots of these beautiful Hoyas look so unhappy. Hopefully the treatment it will help. Sending prayers ur way
thank you - i just spent yesterday cleaning and treating all of them (removing pests with alcohol), and i've decided to do sulfur treatments to hopefully finally get rid of flatmites. fingers crossed!
Hope the hoyas do better this year, love these updates ❤
Thank you!
I started collecting Hoya earlier this year. I started with some easier ones and now I have a few that are my favourites 😊 love the foliage.
Very cool! Once you understand them, they're so fun to grow ❤️❤️
Loved seeing the updates, although they were not all positive. So many of your hoya are wishlistplants of mine and it's great to hear which one's are a bit on the easier side despite the pests!
Thank you so much!
Thank you for this extra long Hoya Video! 😍 I think good bugs are really good for pest prevention, but in your case I think the infestation is too intense. In my experience hoya do really well with oil based treatment and that works really well on both mealybugs and flat mites🤞
I've decided I'm going to try the sulphur treatment my friends have all recommended! This video made me realise it's time for bigger action 🙌
Loving it all ❤
Thanks Jim
Your make up is GORGEUSSS
Awww thank you! I'm working with knowledge I learned 20 years ago so I want to go get some tips from a makeup artist from this country 😅
Roos, try just spraying them down in the shower if you don’t have the energy to do so many treatments (what I did when I didn’t have the energy or time). I honestly seen so much new growth on all my Hoya since doing this. I try to do once a week but at least every two weeks and it seems to be helping a LOT with all the flat mites. Love your Hoyas. Though, they do take a lot of patience.
Thank you - that would be a lot of work still but I've decided to try the sulphur treatment for the flatmites!
@ please lmk how it goes. I have the stuff but have been putting it off for so long. I do believe I read that it kills thrips too. I’m not sure about mealies. But, how cool would that be if it knocked down everything??? Good luck, my friend. Keep us posted. ♥️🙏🏻🪴
I believe you have flat mites, mix water and sulfur and place it in a squirt bottle. Spray all parts of the stem that meets the leaf, has worked very well for me. Treat every week for about a month.
Yes I say that a lot in this video 😅 I am planning to finally try sulphur now, after making this video I realised it's time 🙏🏻
@@plantwithroos you got this, I know you can get past it! 1 tblsp to a gallon of water. I treated all parts of the stem every time I watered. 💚
Sulphur is a pain in the neck . When you have a lot of plants it’s a good idea to treat your entire collection preventatively, it seems like a lot of the plants you have shown are infested. I would plan to treat them every two weeks over the course of months in order to get it under control. It’s a lot of work and that is why I preventatively treat my plants. I switch between two different types of bug killer, but neem oil with a dash of soap also works.
I bought it last week, haven't started yet but I will treat all my Hoya!
My favorite is Hoya Buntok Silver. I still want a multiflora and Undulata Red.
Yayyy! Going to watch the whole vid tonight 💚 One quick question already: what is the best treatment against flat mites? And is it wise to treat as a precaution?
I've been treating with good bugs, but that's not very quick or effective. I'm going to try sulfur treatment soon, that apparently is the best. The good bugs struggle to see the flatmites as they're so small!
@@plantwithroos thanks, I'll look into it as well! With my new hoya obsession and my ever expanding collection I'm suddenly scared of flat mites 😅
Yeah I think every person that owns hoya has flatmites.. As long as they don't cause a lot of harm, it's fine but they've taken over for me 😅 people like @knotdude have great videos showing them with a microscope etc
when it come to pest , you need to learn the life cycle , just check that one flat mite can lay 50 - 60 eggs , which is no joke , also when your plant feel stress it will send out signal , that when pest know when to attack it
I bought a begonia from a local seller and there was a baby seedling in the pot. I saved it and now it looks like it’s growing into a variegated anthurium!
Oohh that's so cool!
Hoya are usually pretty easy, if they are established and have plenty of light and the correct (not too much watering). However, even for those that usually know them and they grow them well if the watering gets off and they head into decline it seems like they can be difficult to save. Probably taking cuttings and starting over sometimes is best and you will have several plants.
Did you watch this video? The issue was most likely cold in my opinion. And they're regrowing already!
YES please keep trying on the finlaysonia leaf
I decided to treat with sulphur soon for flatmites and I will give it that chance with that
That's a lot of Hoya. I have the curtain only but want a kerii, princess and queen but I don't want the mealies. 😞😬. And I dislike dusting the plants..I too have been thinking about the gloves so I can do neem treatments after cleaning.
hahah yeah dusting is not fun! but i did it yesterday, at least on the worst ones. hopefully it helps them!
Het thema: mealybugs! 😂.
Succes!
@@Omnysim TH-cam translates this to "Glass sex always worked well for me against mealybugs" 😂😂😂
I also have a crassipetiolata splash in rehab lol
They're so beautiful! I'm back in love 😅
💚🤙🏽
Thank you!
It doesn’t grow just once from each side so the one from Osa the one leaf one should grow if it has good root system n is free of mites. The new growth points will come from yhe healthy side so it will grow right next to the failed growth point
I hope you're right! I do think the damaged growth through flatmites has a chance to come back, I'll wait a bit longer 🙏🏻
@ I used sulfur for plants and by the 2nd application I saw beginning of some growth and they have been happy since.
Oohh that's exciting, that gives me hope!!
I feel so sad for your hoyas as they struggle against the mealy bugs and dust. I hate to see plants suffering like that. I hope you do another video where you can show them all some love and attention....
I hate to see people being unkind. Hope to see you give some kindness and respect to other people. All the best, i know you can do better 😊
Hi Sheryl, i mention in this video (and many others) that we had to have the house renovated - so it wouldn't collapse in on itself. Plus I've been sick and dealing with a long lasting concussion, so my health and safety go above plant care. It's sad to me that you can't see that I'm doing my best. Plants for me always will come after mental and physical health 🙏🏻
Thank you Bettina, I really appreciate you standing up for me 🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️
@@plantwithroos Of course, anytime! You are such a kind hearted and hard working decent human being- I love your content and the happy vibes you are exuding. We will fight disrespectful internet trolls together! Only plants are allowed to get on our nerves 😅

Haha what is that emoji for? 😅
If only Jane Perrone would laugh at me… sigh
I think she laughed at all of us that collected many hoya cuttings 😅
This can be arranged for a small fee 😂Seriously though, I was laughing at myself as much as anyone else. I too have had tiny Hoya cuttings that got massive!
@@janeperrone6954 I am disgustingly star struck 🤩
