  • On Friday, September 22nd, 2023, I left straight after work and drove up north to some Crown Land where I had a fire and car camped for the night. The next morning, I drove even further to Canada’s first and famous Provincial park, Algonquin (established in 1893). There, I hiked 16.2 kilometres to a pristine and tranquil backcountry camp spot on Harness Lake. I immediately inflated my Alpacka Pack Raft and paddled around amid the serenity and silence. Thankfully, there were plenty of dry sticks and branches and I was able to enjoy a roaring fire while watching the sun set. The next day, I went for another paddle amid the early morning fog and rolling mist on the water. It was heavenly! Then, I hiked 16.9 kilometres back to my car and drove three hours back to Toronto. Join me on this beautiful adventure back on Canadian soil!
    I returned home to Canada on September 1st; this is actually my 4th adventure since completing the incredibly challenging and stunningly beautiful 956-kilometre GR10 trail through the Pyrenees Mountains in the south of France over 47 days this summer. I will publish these four videos…at some point! If you haven’t watched my 12-part GR10 series, you really should! Check it out, found in the playlist tab.
    It’s grrrrrrrrreat to be home! Thank you for watching!

    There's a section on my local trail that always has trash on it too. It's right by the road where the hunters go. Real similar to what you were showing. Then you get to places like that lake with all the pristine reflective shots and you realize why you're trying to get away from all those people. I bet there wasn't any trash where you camped by the lake. Someone would have to hike there, and care.

    • @Womaninthewoods13
      @Womaninthewoods13  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly. And, you’re right, there was no garbage at my backcountry camp spot. I have found “garbage “at these backcountry camp spots before, but it was normally in the form of people leaving things behind that they thought, would be helpful for the next camper like rope or a tarp. However, I have found a broken frying pan, empty, food, cans, etc., too. The best we can do is keep leaving our camp spots better than we found it and spreading the word of leave no trace Thank you, as always, for watching, Mister Brewer! 🥰🙏🏼✌🏼

    No need to apologize for saying "it's amazing" so much Christina. The obvious reason that you are saying "it's amazing" so often is because you are outdoors viewing the beauty and wonderment of nature so much. There is no other word to replace amazing other than breathtaking or stunning maybe. You have a free pass on how you are describing it. And I think that Algonquin Park is now my favorite spot in the world and I have never even actually been there (thanks to your fantastic videos.) The trash and destruction that we are seeing out in the public nature areas is happening pretty much everywhere now days unfortunately. Down here in the U.S. it is getting so bad that a lot of the public nature areas are even being considered for being closed for the public use. Total disrespect and disregard from a small segment of the population is ruining it for us all. Such a shame. Anyway, thank you for allowing us to join you on another "AMAZING" adventure. See you on the next one
