  • On Saturday, June 17th, I hiked a mere 4.5kms on the Highlands Backpacking trail in Algonquin Park to spot number seven on Provoking Lake. Mission: seam-seal my Six Moons Lunar Solo 1p tent. What a beautiful backdrop to carry out this task. This is my last hike/camp trip before my big European summer-long hike/camp adventure. I hope you’ll enjoy this video!

    Hi!
    Really happy I stumbled upon your channel. The past two years I have camped the Algonquin backcountry with my partner but this year I am solo but still wish to venture and camp Algonquin. I’m not confident paddling solo yet so I’m thinking a hike in trip would be best. After watching this video Provoking Lake seems like it would be an excellent spot for me! Thank you for sharing!

    Is it the exiting Camino de Santiago trail you going to hike?? I bet you purchased an Algonquin Park seasonal pass. Looks like your second home, lol.
    I have been watching all your awesome hiking videos. Even met your hiking friend Margrit, twice in one week on the trail up in Bruce Peninsula.

    Seam sealing is a miserable task and one left to the annals of 1990. Its insane a tent is not factory sealed. Especially now that the bingo dabber seal bottles are so hard to find.

      @@Womaninthewoods13 I thought you might add different tires with a higher load capacity to handle the hot weather when heavily loaded. Maybe prevent any future flat tires like you experienced riding to Vancouver in 2020.

      @@robertdeboer815 I buy the tires that fit the bike! I am not planning any long-distance ride. To use fatter tires with a higher load capacity I’d have to change bicycles. Cant wait, just hope the fire bans lift with all this rain (having a feeling they will wait till after the fireworks this weekend) .. will make the best of it either way. We bought the same termacell and have never used it before.. do you find you actually get 4 hours per pad and 12 per fuel canister?? I was planning on bringing "36hrs" worth for 4 days and 3 nights.

      I like Canada, it has lovely people and beautiful countryside, however I think I would be scared to camp there because of the bears, and the mosquitos would do my head in!

    • @Womaninthewoods13
      @Womaninthewoods13  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You park at the designated lot for the Highlands Backapcking Trail. The distance depends on what site you have. It is best to purchase the backpacking map or look online; both show you the distance in kilometres and you can figure out how long of a hike it will be to whatever spot it is you’re able to reserve. I hope that helps.
