This took me a long time. Mostly cause a violin-choir combo is already tough to translate onto piano, but the sheer length and build-up of Journey from Destiny 2 made this one an exceptional challenge. Made some small changes to keep it interesting and help with the pacing so it doesn't become tiring to listen to. Hope you like it!

Did you straight up do this? like you converted the original to this piano version? If so, you’re flipping amazing. This is the best thing I have ever heard.
One of the best pieces from Destiny.
The emotive power instantly takes me back to some of the most somber moments in the game.
The game was in bad state at begging but I'll never forget this mission an it's music.
in general the Red War wasnt regarded as the best, for me it was definitely up there. Journey is underrated and the exploration in the vanilla D2 stages was incredible. New Lights miss out big time imo.
agreed, my friends started after shadowkeep. ive played since d1. i started at the age of 9. im now 18. 9 Years with destiny. some ups, some downs. this song is my favorite. Halo and destiny are my childhood XD
@@ShrodedGhost also 18 over here, never got to play d1 at its peak but i was there for destiny 2 and played since launch day and frankly miss all the vaulted content, just want everyone to be able to experience again
19 here, destiny 1 came out and my parents got it for my birthday. Haven’t played it all the way through but it will always be my favourite game of all time
real tho, kinda miss the red war tho, especially the bad ass scenes when cayde stabs the cabal and then pets the chicken.
20 ova here, started d1 at 10… asked my mom to pre order it, was super geeked got to play with my dad, brother, friends… d2 was mainly a solo thing but my love never wavered neither did the memories…
Devotion inspires bravery, bravery inspires sacrifice, and sacrifice means death. It’s what guardians do. The fight’s almost over hope to see you out there my fellow guardians. God speed
My guy
Well said
We are coming Witness. We are coming!
See you in the Pale Heart, fellow Guardians

The magic and nostalgia i feel from this saddens me, the moment i heard this in my heart i knew the journey had just begun, when all seemed to end. I kept pushing forward with bravery in the darkness, with light all these years with me i find the past of d2 my memorable moments. This is more than just a game to some guardians. This song will always bring a tear to a True guardians eyes😢.
This song always makes me wanna cry fuck… it has been nearly ten years now since it all began. Eyes up guardian, per Audacia ad astra
I hear these stories of guardians who started so many years ago, and those who felt the vanguard got greedy and went to shit; meanwhile, I rose only a few months ago. A friend who’s played forever made me finally download it and I fell in love with this game instantly. Not only is the base gameplay better than any other I have ever found, but the universe and story are gigantic and beautiful. Few games can create the kinds of bonds among its players like this one has. The future is insanely uncertain with what the Bungie executives are doing, but I see the beautiful core of this game and will continue to enjoy as long as I am able.
Eyes up guardian.
I had flashbacks of fleeing the city for the first time. Reaching the mountains and seeing the traveler bound and the city burning.
RIP Cayde 6 and Amanda Holliday
I started playing Destiny during Beta. Absolutely fell in love. Currently, I try so hard to like this game 💔 I have to force myself to stop forcing myself to play the game. I just can’t find those feelings anymore 😔
I just came across this today. I felt goosebumps crawl on my skin as memories flooded back. I remember my journey staring back in The Taken King, I remember begging my father for the expansion and, eventually, getting it for Christmas. I remember my old friends, my experiences with them, the ups, the downs, and I remember my triumphs. Felling The Taken King, getting my Bolt Caster, Putting the Iron Lords to their final rest. Felling Aksis, and screaming with my teammates when we did so. I remember starting destiny 2, and exploring the forges, and finding the secrets of them. Exploring the underbelly of the leviathan, taking down the water of worlds, and ascending the spire of stars. Defeating insurrection prime and getting anarchy. I remember defeating Ghalran after oh so many attempts, and cheesing riven way too many times, and now? As we approach the end of the light and dark saga, I remember these days, thinking of what we all worked towards.
Sheet music link is in the description. Spotify EP with Deep Stone Lullaby will drop next weekend 🚀
LETS GO!
Destiny has to be in the conversation for best OST of any game. The pure emotions that the music from the game brings is actually insane. It brings back so much nostalgia of a simpler time in life, pulling all nighters with the clan beating kings fall and wrath on legendary for the first time. I haven’t touched destiny 2 in some time but this is so beautiful and honestly painful to listen to. Excellent job. Please continue doing destiny covers.
I am a destiny player and I have been listening to your music for a while now. It’s so amazing to me that you are playing music from the game I play so much. Thank you 🙏🏻
Journey is some of the best music this game has to offer. I met my wife through the game. Got 2 kids and a 3rd on the way. So far for my first 2 kids I used this song while humming to calm them down and get them to sleep. As did my wife from time to time. It just has such a good melody to it for that purpose. The complete song just gives a feeling of getting knocked down and getting back in the fight with a winning climax.
It's criminal that this doesnt have more views, this is beautiful.
Thank you for covering this song, one of my favorite video game soundtracks of all time and you played it beautifully ❤
Bungie fired two of the people that wrote this song, the shortsightedness is insane
damn
Bungie also fired literally everyone worth a damn.
Now Skye Lewin is gone as well.
Sony fired them, not bungie. Sony owned bungie, it's all Sony's fault. Bungie wanted to keep them.
I have been waiting for this one! Thank you! A truly nostalgic piece. It's a sorry thing we won't here it in game anymore. This is certainly the best piano rendition I've seen.
You can still hear it in game, it has a chance to play while in orbit.
As well as at the tower and at the seasonal hub of logistics
My heart goes out to the guardians who never had the honour of playing the red war campaign. Where it began and hearing this absolute banger of a song play while you contemplate how you will your lightless existence as you journey into unknown territory. We may have fallen but as all guardians do we rise again to reclaim what was once ours and bask in the glory of granting everyone that fought so bravley with us a chance a peace once again.
Honestly one of my most enjoyable experience i had followed by amazing music.
Sometimes I sit and think about how far I’ve come since first starting Destiny. I started D2 the day after my birthday, I remember using hotspots to connect to Internet at the time. My partner by my side through it all. I recall the Red War and battling Ghaulran for a whole night till finally I beat him. Sometimes I miss “old” destiny. I left d2 for 2 years due to internet/lack of ps+. I got a job and an Xbox and came back. Fought through forsaken and on. As the end of the light and dark saga comes in 2 days, I remember I am no longer that beginning player I once was. I’ve bested monsters and gods all the same, my team and I. Made awesome friends, memories, and heartfelt moments. This game has been with me as I’ve grown, from a goofy high schooler in 9th grade to an IT tech with a degree. 8 years of destiny 2.
Eyes up guardian. We’ve made it.
I remembered crying when I first heard this. You were surviving alone. No longer important. Every bullet counts. The scene was amazing. Then boom, the sound track hits like a truck. Enough to make even gods weep.
The rise in power up until 3:30 gave me goosebumps in the best way possible. Amazing rendition! Thank you so very much! ❤
Journey will always make me cry and as a man I'll proudly say that, been with destiny since D1 but something about this track from vanilla D2 is just so beautiful. I started this journey as a guardian when I was a kid and now im out of school and working a full time job. Just reminds me of a simpler time in game and life. Great job man
Your piano covers are the best ones I have in my TH-cam playlist. I always look forward to whatever comes next. You rock!
Destiny will never be the same without Micheal Salvatori. Him being fired is nothing short of a travesty. I just wanted an extra motif of Journey.... Maybe a metal send off in Final Shape's Raid DPS phase.
Not a big destiny fan. But decided to give a shot at it's OST and I immediately fell in love. First one I heared was Journey, and now I hear it every single day. It never gets old. Beautiful.
just found this in my feed after hearing Salvatori was part of the Bungie lay offs. His work on Halo and Destiny fueled my passion for music, and it sucks to hear him leave Bungie in such an unfortunate way.
Speechless. Literally speechless. I'm not sure I was breathing during that.
The skill required to do that is far and away amazing. Thank you for that incredible rendition.
Honestly, thank you so much.
I've been waiting for you to cover journey. Love this song and the way you touched the keys captured the emotions behind it. Was worth the wait. Thank you.
Looking forward to seeing how you managed to replace the strings and the chorus and percussion, it's a monumental challenge but I'm sure it'll be excellent
I was skeptical of the piano being able to convey the same emotion that the strings can but boy was I wrong.
I love music. there is something about the way it pulls me in. it's actually a little bit of a problem because if there's music, I often hear nothing else. but there's something about pianos that just sounds different from other instruments, it's like they sound cleaner than instruments like the electric guitar, which sometimes just sound like incoherent screaming. I guess this is really just a long wind way of saying thank you for making songs and themes easier for people like me to hear.
Let’s go. We have been waiting for this for ages. This is super awesome! One of my favorites. Thank you so much for doing this
This is so good, great job doing it! ❤
Istg if journey starts playing at the end of TFS once we win (cause we probably will), im gonna bawl my eyes out cause i completely forgot about this piece. been playing 2-3 years and this still hits so hard every time.
Off-topic, but journey would be great for a cutscene where the guardian finally regains their memories of their past life.
Bro I feel you the sadness hits me in orbit and anywhere in sol. The journey has been everything trust I'm crying in orbit in my ship along side yours.
@@raziellogan7958 😭😭😭
Now this brings me back D2 year one
im about to cry.
i have a lots of memories in this game.
so many many things.
i still play one.
Marty O'Donnell, a living legend. You are a terrific artist, and have a wide pallet for us to listen to. Thank you
Marty did not make this. This was composed by Skye Lewin and Michael Salvatori.
@@SpaceMan-1998 Then they are now living legends in my book. You're right though. The style isn't the same. My mistake 😅
@@FireFlyMaxx All good, just wanted to make sure they were properly credited 👍
These are my favorite! If you’re considering another destiny arrangement, I would recommend Remebrance. Great piece. Keep up the good work 🫡
First time I heard this back in 2017 I immediately purchased the soundtrack. Sensational piece.
I've been listening to your Star Wars songs for a couple years now and they are always amazing, and I was so excited to see you do Destiny 2 covers!!!! I cried the first time I listened to this one. You're spectacular!! If you end up doing anymore Destiny covers, I would love to hear your version of The Man They Called Cayde !
There's something about journey that touches the soul of every Destiny 2 vanilla player.
Watching to your performance has the same effect❤
I never played any instrument but this made me buy a keyboard just to play this.
I never played vanilla destiny 2, I never got chances of playing it till 6 months ago I started to work, now I discovered so much watching old Gameplays, I regret not be able to go back yo the past to just play it
Absolutely beautiful and amazingly arranged. This has inspired me to go back to piano if I can after way too long a break. This deserves way more views, I will share as far as I can! Eyes up. ❤❤💜
This was amazing! You should keep doing D2 videos until Final Shape drops. Forge Ahead would sound amazing!
Very soothing thank you ❤
Hearing Journey again in TFS really brought me back, Salvatori is an absolute god with the stuff he and the other composers for Destiny did.
This piece gets me in the feels EVERY time. I transposed the beginning string quintet part into a wind quintet so a few buds and I could play it. This song it amazing
This song is the real Destiny 2😭🥲🤧
This is so beautiful. perfectly done, congrats and thanks
It's insane how good this is. More D2 please!
Wow. Didn't expect to find yet another piano version of this. I already played two different versions before.
I really like your version for taking some freedoms whereas the others I played before took more of a complete song accurate approach. I really loved that the part after the guardian's theme was played in a higher octave.
Also can we expect some raid boss themes? There is no decent sheet version out there for stuff like first disciple or oneirophobia. They do hit differently. Or maybe even some older stuff like keep of voices (Riven)?
I may have quit destiny with Lightfall but the soundtrack is still unbeatable.
Thanks for bringing it back to the piano 😁
ive loved all your videos. this takes the cake. brother. you give me so hard nostlgia. im crying. im actully crying. holly shit. i gotta process this. i love you man. ty for this sick cover. As a Destiny veteran. my whole childhood was Halo then Destiny. the years have past so fast. fucking hell it hurts a little. anyways, love from Norway.
Been waiting for this one for a while, this is great!!
absolutely astounding, great work
Perfection ...... Just perfection. Keep up the good work
My neighbors gave me their piano a few weeks ago and I just started teaching myself this song last night through this video. I'm actually making decent progress thanks to this guy's technique (note that I've never had a piano teacher but I know the fundamentals)
Best music in Destiny, and one of my favorite musics overall. Incredible cover as well !
For Cayde 6. For Rasputin. Can't wait to know the final of this game.
This game will never end for me, play this at my funeral when this guardian witnesses his final death.
you beat the final shape campaign? i won't say anything other then the final cut scene, now that's what you call a tear jerker. I absolutely no lifed destiny one and was utterly disappointed with D2 on release and gave up on it around Forsaken, My buddy convinced me to get the final shape and I am so glad I did.
@@codyjones2940 oh yeah I beat it... I took some emotional damage at the end... Very hard final for me 🥲
@@Gojo_Sensei_Ka totally agree, hats off to bungie with this one.
Forever will the music of destiny sing to my soul, forever will it carry emotions for me to feel. ah when we first started it was just a shooty shooty bang bang gun collection, we had no idea what was going on in the universe we were fresh faces new to the world declined in destruction. Now were facing the biggest threat in the universe almost 10 fucking years later... i feel just like Unus Annus theres just never gonna be another thing like it. Thank you for making these covers they are wonderful.
Looking forward to listen your performance of Journey!
Was around when the first Destiny came out, I was pretty young only like 7 or 8 years old. I grew up with the OG Halo games from Bungie (Halo 4 was actually pretty good honestly in terms of story), but the music, listening to Salvatori and O'Donnell, Lewin, and Moav, it brings back old memories of friends, raids, the original stories, and now that Im in my college years going for a major I never expected, Im looking back at the old days of childhood and they inspired me to follow music as a career. I hope if someone reads this, even if you are a new light or a veteran of days long past, find some inspiration in what Ive said.
I'm playing Destiny for the longest time out of all the games I've played After it was released in Korea
When I play games This music gave me goosebumps I still remember that time We always recall and remember the past I miss that time.
This is just what I needed today ❤
my favourite one so far! maybe look wihtin next? ._.
Times listening to your D2 uploads made me shed a tear: 2/2 too many feels
This is incredible! I don't know how many people asked but I know I was one of them!
I don't know how possible it would be, but one of my all time favorite songs from Destiny 1 is the boss song "The Archpriest". If you could do that I'd have trio of songs to learn to play!
brother. i feel the same. as a Destiny veteran. i approve this message. Archpriest would be insane hahah
Holy crap, the madlad did it! A truly beautiful rendition. It fully captures the emotions behind the song. All I could think was --- Two weeks later---
this made my day
Like this if you came here to remember and cry 😢. Rest in peace Destiny the Game.
So beautiful, halo and destiny are my two favorite series. I learned ashes from reach and this is the next song I want to learn.
Rise up Guardian ...
Amazing job! Now I'm going to go try learn this on piano (or at least some of it)
We did it... we won. Against seemingly insurmountable odds, the Witness has finally been destroyed. A decade-long war finally over.
But the work isn't done. It will never be done. Not for us. The fight must continue.
I met my best friend through destiny. We didnt know it at the time, but he would go on to be my inspiration to become the best version of myself that I could be while I would be one of the few people in his life that never stabbed him in the back. While the game itself is no longer what it used to be, we've never missed a content drop together since witch queen because without this franchise I'd never have met my brother.
Absolutely beautiful piece of music i will miss the music of destiny 😢
This is easily my favorite track from all of destiny
Great job on this cover. Amazing
One of, if not the best pieces from a long ago time in the ages of Destiny 2. The start of our losses and hardship to the top again, to finding ourselves and facing newer, more violent threats. It's sad that these New Lights won't get to see WHY Destiny 2 has gone down the story it has, at least, not the full story. The timeline quest doesn't even show Red War, just Forsaken and onwards.
Just hauntingly beautiful
“Stand with me gardian”
-Commander Zavala
The City is fallen to the Hand from the Cabals. You walk with your last live far away from the City. Shooting with the Last Ammo the Cabal Dogs. See the Falcon and look back to the Fallen City on the Mountains. And nearby this Music plays. What a Epic Start. And yet we come to an end. See Cayde Again and Fight with every Guardian the Witness.
Beautiful!
just came back to the channel after a while and i see the ring congrats
光の中で幾度も倒れたガーディアンたちの一瞬の魂ここに眠る
The momentary souls of the guardians who have fallen many times in the light rest here.
I was trying the chords and accidentally played the OG Destiny theme. The nostalgia spike went crazy bro
Keep it up this is amazing!
Great stuff!!!!!
Fucking beautiful, simply nothing else to describe how amazing this is
Yesss love destiny thank you
Awesome!
Amazing
Still remember this song on the second mission
Very good!
Yes, those were great times. The Red War was very emotionally intense. Only Forsaken was more memorable.
I know it's an old game but I still hope you'll add your touch to Heavy Rain one day
Love this! Idk if you do requests, but destiny had a revamp of the song “inner light” for the most recent dungeon, I’d love to learn something like that
"Devotion insipres bravery. Bravery inspires sacrifice and sacrifice leads to death... So feel free to kill yourself" -The Speaker.
God I wish I got to experience that campaign.
Also, Regicide when?
Thank you, Guardian.
There’s only one thing that Destiny never fails and that the music.
Please do Epilogue I from Ahsoka!!!
Please do reflection next. That song is so underrated
this version hits even harder
What I wouldn’t give to go back to 2017 and play this game for the first time again 😭
You should do Harry Potter covers, Hedwigs Theme and Window to the Past are both really pretty.
