I would argue that the first time through ME3 was very impactful. It was only until you play it again with a different ending did that impact drop off. Allies dying off, planets you visit are barren wastes. You think that the crucible will fix it all. Then Ghost Boy. I honestly thought Shepard was hallucinating the entire ending. I believe that is the ending most of the writers wanted but EA didn't like it. EA doesn't do subtle so they tried to sell the idea it was real but honestly even in their extended ending there is plenty of reason to believe Shepard was hallucinating most of it.
I've played the trilogy thrice so far. ME3 final push to the beam is still my favourite. Though the ending was questionable, the atmosphere and the sheer responsibility carried by Shepard are so wonderfully conveyed. Allied fleet checking in, saying farewell to your mates and the last stand while banshees and brutes pour through...always hit me hard. I always choose destroy, so imagining Shepard's eventual reunion with their lover is really bittersweet. ME2 suicide mission never felt that high stakes to me. Maybe because it's the middle game of a trilogy. Even on my first run, I had no casualties without looking up. On the other hand, Shepard triumphantly emerging from the rubble in ME1 still gives me goosebumps.
@@thegreatpineapple4425 I feel the same. As much I love the Suicide Mission, the fact I never lost a crewmate there makes it less impactful than ME3 final push to me.
@@adrielic_ The writers also wrote themselves into a corner thanks to suicide mission. Anyone could die. This is the real reason why Miranda, Jack, Thane etc get only cameos in ME3. @@thegreatpineapple4425 Yeah. I'm aware of that. I also agree it would work better in the third game. One thing that """ruined""" for me is: you either have to be stupid enough to make crewmates do stuff they're clearly not good at, or rush through the entire game and don't do loyalty quests nor upgrade the Normandy, for people to die. One of the most iconic scenes in all of gaming with a badass soundtrack is getting a cover played by the best pianist I've ever heard of. Is this early Christmas?
Just gotta say, I was there when your piano cover for Skyrim main theme came out and it was the first piece I attempted on piano and 8 years later it’s nostalgic to listen to, your cover is responsible for me getting into piano so thank you. All the best!
I only recently finished a complete trilogy playthrough and just hearing a few of these tunes makes me want to try again. They weren't perfect games, but the feeling created by the series as a whole can't be beat.
