While I was making my way through the outskirts of the mountain, I literally just broke down crying because I had been with my warlock for the past 4 years before and the thought of losing him was so devasting. From the moment this song played as I crawled out of the burning city, I put on my headphones and just sat there crying as I made my way out. Destiny has just been such an amazing ride from November 20-ish 2014.

This orchestral tells a story, the story of someone who lost everything, their best friends and life-long companion after losing a war, however unlike some, this person didn't give up, they continued on and fought despite all odds, they escaped the hunt for them with their life while taking revenge in small battles, they escaped to find a small civilisation where they could begin life again.

Here after the last mission of the Final Shape. Surreal knowing that the darkness and light saga is over, it had its highs and its lows over the past 10 years, life certainly has too, but I'm glad I was a guardian from beginning to end, and I await what is to come

How could you not be pulled into the music... being an active part of any epic musical score and after the hard work and endless practice being able to stand and shout YES! From the bottom of your soul as you triumphantly gaze at the birth of a masterpiece.

God I would love to experience that in person. Journey is my absolute favorite song in the compositions that make up the entire Destiny music collection. Two others that I like are What We Fight For (the incredible video back story of Zavala) and The Last Array. If they did a back story on Cayde-6, do you picture part of that story would end up using the Benny Hill theme?

I remember loading up the game and defending the tower, kicking ass along the way and then getting completely screwed by ghaul. Walking around without my powers genuinely stressed me out. Nothing could have prepared me for the fucking mountain scene though. Walking through that mountain following the bird with the music in the backround made me tear up. No other game has done that to me besides borderlands 2

I remember getting home from school, finding my pre order sitting on my bed on a Friday, frantically loading up console and praying for fast internet, that 1st mission, working my way through the tower, finding the EDZ, Nessus, Titan, Io. Year 1 wasnt the best, no one will dispute that, but my gosh, will it always have a special place in my heart, life was better then, this music is power, this music is for our fallen guardians, both IRL, and in game. I know no one will see this, but i just had to say it

I really miss the old planets, strikes and activities. I know they say it's to limit size and bug work but I just think a lot of us would be content with having a 250gb Destiny 2 with all the content and destinations we payed for and pre-ordered. Most of us use external SSD or HDD anyway.

The saddest part is that now that bugie has sunset the old content, people will never get to hear this masterpiece in game as you look out over a destroyed city from the top of a mountain! I miss what destiny 2 was at the start even if it was a bit lackluster gameplay wise.
It does play on a certain map during PvP however I agree with you, that first time of looking at the city burning with a captured Traveller and guardian with no light had a certain aesthetic.
Destiny 2 has lost that and we all know it's just a money grab now.

The cello is by far the most versatile instrument to me, and this dude is fantastic! I am loving listening to this series.
every month since forsaken came out, its a ritual to watch and listen to this masterpiece. how the violins compliment the viola and the entry of the main theme after several bars of ostinato from the cello, the timpani complimenting the cello, contrary to having a constant rhythm to follow, how dark the cello sounds to represent a time of chaos and solemn for the destiny universe. its all so perfect. technical aspect wise, i respect how the composer allowed rubato during the first few bars, to give the lead to the cellist, which in this case was the perfect man for the job. chorally, it follows suit with the strings, as in how main melodies were given to the lower end of the strings spectrum, all bassists, tenors and baritones were given lower registers. it all comes together so dark, yet so perfect.
Goose bumps every single time... Love every single second of it. Masterpiece !!!

I've been playing Destiny since Day 1 Beta. Virtually every single day I've been there. The music has been a part of my life for the last 9 years, and I expect it will be there for me until my last breath. This was masterfully done and I was quite moved by it.

I have always loved Destiny's soundtracks. They invoke powerful emotions, memories I will cherish with friends. I wish I could have closure and a conclusion to its main overarching story.

I think of my grandfather passing November of 2020, and the nostalgia of my best childhood friend that lives out of state when I hear this song. The original Destiny was something else. I go back to the era of the "The Loot Cave" haha.
D2 had by far one of the best video game soundtracks. Beyond Light was absolutely beautiful 😭 Deep Stone Lullaby is my fav :)

THIS is what music is supposed to be. Music is not supposed to be unfeeling notes put to paper, music IS emotion. It is the purest form of emotional expression. You know when you are listening to it because you FEEL it. This is an excellent example of real music. Watch the way the soloist MOVES with the piece. Notice how the others that are truly into it do as well, these people take the music seriously and put heart into it. THAT is what will separate someone who can play an instrument from a musician.
No video game soundtrack will ever have the special sauce that Music of the Spheres from Destiny 1 had. Just something so magical about it
