Never played the Destiny series, but you can tell this soundtrack was created by one of the brilliant minds behind Halo. did my first clear of this raid with friends who are no longer with us. this song was played at each and every one of their funerals. Still brings tears. rest in peace guardians.

This song invokes memories that don’t exist, which actually fits into the lore behind this music really well. You did a great job capturing that.
Think the original piece was about someone going to sleep for the last time and wakening up as an Exo.
I thought it was about the edge of exploration and descovering somthing new, but your explanation fits better with D2 lore

I will never forget the first time I experienced the space walk in destiny and hearing this. I had goosebumps all over my body
To this day, I still deafen my raid chat to hear it in its entirety.

@@shark_tank The game is free to TRY, not free to play. You can't play any campaigns besides New Light, you can't play and of the seasonal story, you get 2 raids and a dungeon. And the raids are recycled from the last game

I will never forget my day 1 group who was a bunch of IRL friends, we were stuck on atraks for maybe six or seven hours. It truly stunned all 6 of us out of our celebration into silence when the airlock door opened and we all stepped out into space to hear this beautiful tune start playing.

When I first heard this song in the raid I was overwhelmed.
It immediately reminded me of my journey as a guardian. I started remembering the struggle I had with the House of Wolves back in D1.
How many times I did Kings fall with my homies and failed. The Red War and how it broke me down.
The fight to save the speaker only see him die in a cut scene. I don’t even want to talk about Cayde. The opportunity to save Saint-14 from the Vex and help the fallen.
This song brings me back to all the hard times and how we endured. How this games ups and downs have been great.
Now I await the Final Shape. My chance to take out the Witness and end this. Only a rogue guardian could bring me out of retirement at that point.

The greatest irony of art made for stories: we thought the art was made for the story, but the creators made the art for us. The melancholy in this song is beautiful and does a great job of capturing the emotions in the game, but it’s the emotions the music invokes with us - the stories of long lost internet friends and infinite LFGs that this song was truly meant for. We always were the story.

I have over 10,000 hours in this game now. Still one of if not my favorite sound tracks from the game. It just speaks to memories of calm exploration. Memories that aren’t even there which is the whole idea. Amazing cover I love your channel btw
So many good pieces in the Destiny 2 soundtrack. This is one of my favorites.
the endless nights spent raiding, lfg after lfg with my friend. definitely one of the big things that got me through covid, i'm sure the same for him as well. nights i could have gotten adequate amounts of sleep but instead chose to make memories. this piece will always move me to tears and take deep breaths, remembering the Deep Stone Crypt and that gorgeous jumping puzzle. one of the most treasured pieces of music i've ever had the pleasure of listening to.

Beautiful. And today, Bungie (execs) shat all over the composer by laying him off. I've never been so dumbfounded over a decision before. 6.5K hours in the game listening to his compositions, but no more.
This decision will ALWAYS beggar belief. The genius of Halo and Destiny, 2 games where the music was fundamental to the story telling.... and they just offload like it's another day in the office. Mindbogglingly dumb mistake.

My first time through DSC the raid leader made us shut up and take in the scenery for a moment while this played. Can't thank him enough for that.

This makes me want to get another DSC run planned. I have only gotten to do it once but this was such a cool part. The person teaching had everyone mute before we went out the door. Definitely in my top D2 moments
Deep Stone Crypt is my favorite raid in the game because of this sound track. It is such a soothing song and it went extremely well with the spacewalk and really helped enforce the message behind Clovis Bray.

As i sit in orbit reminiscing about the good old days and how the boys used to jump for joy to play this, but then i remember not to dwell on those days just be glad it happened and we got to experience it first hand. Man wat a time to be alive am i right fellas?

@@boom-jr8vi Witch Queen was better than Beyond Light, and the DLC itself was almost as bad as Lightfall (gameplay wise it was worse than Lightfall)

I remember my first run of DSC when it dropped with my clan.
When we reached the space walk, even though we were racing for worlds first, we all stopped and collectively just went "Whoa"
This will easily go down in gaming OST history.
This was the soundtrack to my first ever raid in Destiny 2, I left that game for so many years, but I came back for the music, and hearing this was an absolutely beautiful reminder of all the friends I had made, the random moments of joy and anger in the first game, and finally clearing the Deep Stone Crypt with my friends.

When I get to this point in the raid, I always turn down the game volume and turn the music slider up.
For those who haven't played through the Deep Stone Crypt raid:
Tasked with purging the newly discovered crypt from the prying hands of our enemies, our Fireteam traverses the cold and descends into this unknown. First we disable the security measures quarantining off any further intrusions. Further we traverse. We are then met with Atraks-1. A Fallen, twisted with Exo technology, hellbent on releasing an old ally. A skirmish breaks out, yet we Guardians overcome. With the firefight momentarily over, we explore a new setting, Morning Star. A tethered nuclear space station now aimed to freefall, destroying the crypt and bury its secrets.
In the stillness and silence of space, our Fireteam traverses the exterior of Morning Star and a lullaby begins to play. The fight isn't over, but for this brief moment, respite.
Beautiful cover, I've wondered when you'll cover Destiny music. Destiny series has such good soundtracks, I hope that you will cover more in the future.
