Hello Janko, I love your videos with technical hints and details - especially this one because of the HRE P104SC wheels.
I also have a 718 Spyder and want to fit these wheels to my car - because of your video!
However, I have PCCB brakes with little clearance between the inner rim and the brake, causing little stones to scratch the brake caliper and the rim, if they got caught in between them.
Could you please measure the inner diameter of the front rim at the position of the brake caliper..?
...and put your 20x9.0" (and 20x11) rim on a scale, that I can compare them to the BBS FI-R and the HRE R101 Lightweight rims?
I would love, if you could also tell me, if the original Porsche wheel bolts can be used with the HRE rim and whether the Porsche center cap also fits?
Thank you very much for your help!
P.S.: is the offset of the HRE 9" front wheel really 50, instead of 61 at 8.5", or rather 55 - according to a spec sheet of HRE for the R101 Lightweight?

How are you my dear friend. Another epic video as usual. I had one question regarding the wheels and tires. I would like to take your advise and upgrade my wheels on my 2021 718 Spyder. I have looked at the HRE website and I could not find the R104SC wheels. Could you send me a link to the exact wheels your got. You mentioned they are 20” wheels with fronts are 9” wide and ET50. How about the rears.... what are using for width and offset. As for tires you are sticking with 245/35/20 F & 295/30/20 R. Is this correct? Would you recommend going any wider on fronts or rears, providing they don’t rub. Your thoughts please... thanks again for the amazing videos & content, you give your viewers. Please keep up the great work... Mark Qandil

Janko - I am writing you from Southern California. I have a 2021 718 Spyder GT silver with classic Bordeaux interior. I am considering the exhaust valve system either from soul performance or car graphics. What I really want to know is your opinion about the over axel pipes. Have you had any experience with them and the increase in exhaust sound? Your opinion ? In America the other axle pipes can be removed without triggering any smog issues.

Wow Janko! Your comments on this Porsche Spyder being the best Porsche you’ve driven says a lot given your Porsche history & experience! I feel fortunate to have one. Even before watching this video today, I went to my dealership and asked them to quote PS4S for my Spyder and they said those are not rated for use on the Spyder by Porsche... only the Sport Cup 2s & Dunlop Race Maxx. Found that interesting 🤣, but no matter... still installing them on mine next month as I also won the unlucky Dunlop lottery. Order placed 👍

    • @JankoLind

Hey Janko, I have a question for you regarding tires...
I am currenlty running MIchelin (N1) Sport Cup 2 tires on my 981 GT4, and am considering switching to to Pilot Sport 4S once the current set are due for replacement.
In your experience, would the Pilot Sport 4S tires match most of the performance as the Cup 2s on B-roads?
At the current moment the car is setup exactly the way I like it (including suspension geometry), and I'm hesitant to make any other big changes.
But I'm going through tires at a fast rate, and am open to alternatives, providing that the change doesn't ruin the current driving experience.
I enjoy your content, thanks for making the effort!

Anyhow, I've been contemplating getting a 992 Targa 4s but am now leaning toward a Spyder...if I can get an allocation. I think it will suit my driving style better as I am a cornering junkie! My previous car was a 2012 987.2 Cayman S and just love the mid-engine dynamic. I'm not sure if I'll feel as confident with the rear-engine and higher centre of gravity with the Targa. also, I'm not sure how comfortable I will be leaving the top open when I'm parked, as I will be driving it often, not just B roads but often in the city. Hi Juan,
Perhaps 🤔 to much of all the products. Thanks for the criticism. I do get a lot of questions on this subject and I tried to answer as many I could. Hmm my intention is not to change. Please accept my apology. If you are not already please consider subscribing

@Janko Lind you must think I am the anti christ as I have the 18 way seats in my Spyder😂 Unfortunately due to too many mountain bike accidents I can’t get comfortable in the gorgeous carbon seats.

I'm sorry to hear that you have been in accidents, I hope you recover over time. BUT you are still an antichrist ;-) 😂

Janko- I have centre locks on my 991.2 GTS. Is it possible to change this to a 5 bolt traditional set-up? Reason I ask is I’m finding limited options around getting different alloy designs for my centre locks. Appreciate your feedback, thx.

Hi Christopher, you could but it is a lot of parts that needs to be changed.

The stock has the wrong ET, I love driving Will. Perhaps the P101 Lightweight looks better. hmm.

I thought you sold your spyder already didn’t you?

    • @JankoLind
      @JankoLind  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

No, I've not given it a serious try. Perhaps I should put it out for sale to balance my panic of selling her. A bigger question, could I say NO to 992 GT3?

The Spyder is the best sporty/fun for the value. Yes the GT3 is awesome but it’s not convertible and it’s twice the price.

I would sell the cayenne and the 992 before the Spyder

I strongly disagree - I could easily drive 718 Spyder on long distances :)

I could drive long trip also but the general public will feel it is too harsh. BUT with Öhlins Road and Track the comfort level increases. If you are not already, please consider subscribing.

I'm interested in the Tershine products but their site doesn't appear to have an English version, what am I missing. I also very much enjoy your videos.
