San Ysidro Ready Lane Driving Directions - Reliable Route

  • The route we depict here www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mi... and in the video is a longer way to get to the entrance of the Ready Lanes. We feel it should generally be reliable even in heavy traffic times such as at the end of a long weekend. Please note that in peak travel periods such as the holiday season, this route may not work because the line can be much further past where you join the line in this video. Do not try to cut in the line or pay anyone to help you cut in the line - this is punishable by traffic fines and even confiscation of your vehicle.
We've also included a shorter route to the San Ysidro Ready Lanes, that is not shown in the video: www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mi.... Please be advised that if you attempt to take this shorter route when there are longer wait times, you may be redirected by traffic officers to get the back of the line. This can be very confusing for a lot of border crossers, which is why we have opted to show the longer route depicted in the video.
DO NOT RELY ON GOOGLE/WAZE/APPLE NAVIGATION! It is often inaccurate and will take you to the wrong lane or on a route in which access is blocked.
For more information on identity documents eligible for use with the Ready Lanes, visit www.bajabound.com/before/retu... For more information on the different border lane types and what documents are necessary, visit www.bajabound.com/before/retu...
We also highly recommend using Baja Bound insurance when traveling to Mexico www.bajabound.com/

Thank you guys for making this videos ❤ son de mucha ayuda para todos nosotros que buscamos alternativas y no pedir ayuda a los malandros que te piden dinero para darte direcciones como llegar a la línea

Yup these are the most accurate directions. I had to figure this out all on my own just now and it took me 20 minutes of just driving around in loops due to what he talks about the access blocked merge entries if you follow the Ready Lane signs. I had to look this video up to make sure I wasn’t on the all traffic general lane. Thanks for making this video 👍🏻

I can't thank you enough for making this video. Last week I tried for an hour to find the Ready Lane through gps. Today, following your video I went straight to the line! Thank you so much!

I love visiting TJ and Baja so much, but such a headache this border crossing has become in recent years. Even though it is much further from San Diego, I am liking Puerto Peñasco more and more these days compared to Baja because the water is warm and the crossing at Lukeville, Arizona/Sonoyta during the day is SO EASY!

Thanks for doing this. I'm hoping it'll help me on my next trip up -- I always get turned around on the TJ roads. It'd be really helpful if you could re-issue this video with an overlay of the map, or at least mark the turns with the letters from the Google map. For example, where you show the "exit right after the curb", I *think* that's the exit leading up to (C), but it's hard to say. That'd help with the context.

Thank you finding the ready lane was much easier. I should have paid more attention, we were in the far left lane and were having conversation and missed taking the ready lane at the end. We ended up having to come back around and do it again.
    Thank you

Mi amigo. You are my fucking HERO! Been living in Lil' Rosey (Rosarito) for over 3 years and despite asking around and getting different instructions, nothing ever worked until this. Your simplicity is amazing and I've shared this on Rosarito Living. Mucho muchos gracias!

Try in Google maps and enter PIZZA ALV

Sometimes the border queue is backed up far behind that way, I would recommend to go to the next exit (still on vía rápida poniente) towards central camionera and do the same to enter vía rápida poniente towards the border

Thank you very much for this video - is there a video for the Sentri lane?

OMG it's so horrible, it's hard to find. I used google map and it kept sending to Sentri lane, but then the traffic cops kept blocking it at randomly interval. I honestly cannot think of a more horrendous designed border crossing area.
I don't know if I got scammed or not, but I paid a taxi guy to pay the traffic guys to let me cut lol........ at least that's what they told me. Who knows, I don't think i'll be going back, I'd rather just fly.

We just tried your route when we turned by the BP gas station the police had yellow tape across all of the lanes or you could not go through. I think it was because it was so busy. They block that route. We had to continue to the next exit and it took us three hours just to get to the end of the street to get into the ready lane.

That’s exactly what happened to us just yesterday. Now I’m seriously considering leaving the car at the parking garage and going walking, it’s so confusing just to know if you are waiting in the wrong way stock in the traffic jam. Luckily we were back in San Diego after 3 hours 😂. What a experience!

What about the general lane? We visited and ended up on global entry and no way out. We got a warning, but will be returning soon and we want to be ready for our return.
