San Diego, USA - The first part of this Mexican street food tour started in California, where we drove to the border and parked the car. This is the first time I think I’ve ever crossed a border on foot and gone straight to a street a food tour. All went smoothly.
Tijuana, Mexico - Welcome to Tijuana where a van was ready to pick us up and take us on this ultimate Tijuana street food tour. So happy to be back in Mexico. One of the best things about Tijauana is that it’s a city that attracts people from all over Mexico, and so you’ll find all regional variations of Mexican food.
Tacos Mike - Tijuana, Mexico - We started at a small stall outside a tire shop where they served all sorts of mixed tacos. I had the Taco de chile relleno, a chile stuffed with cheese and fried and covered in salsas.
Mariscos Ruben - We continued next to Marisocs Ruben, known for their unique small rolled tacos with cheese and marlin. They were unbelievably tasty
Aqui Es Texcoco - Tijuana, Mexico - Next we went to Paco’s restaurant, where they serve barbacoa, Texcoco style. It was amazing, and we also had the whole head, including some real deal eye tacos.
Xolo Tacos - Tijuana, Mexico - Next on this Mexican street food tacos tour, we went to Xolo Tacos to eat their insane bone marrow taco. It’s a birria taco, or a Tijuana red taco, but exploding with bone marrow.
Tacos El Gallito - Adobada Tacos - Next stop, we met up with Adrian Mejia - / baja_cali_food - to eat Tijuana adobada tacos from the trompo - the vertical shawarma style spit. Unbelievable.

This is one of the reasons I love living in Tijuana and working in San Diego. The bests street tacos I have eaten are here. I was even surprised to find food from Peru, Brazil, Argentinian, El Salvador, Italian, Chinese, and many other international food. Lot's of US franchised restaurants here too, and of course, a lot of high end gourmet food. Uh, good times!

Mexican food is by far my favorite and I unfortunately have never been to mexico but where I live in Las Vegas it is so true! One of my most favorite places to eat is a taco truck in the parking lot of a tire shop lol!

I've only been to Merida in the Yucatan back in 1982. The food was amazing - and nothing was "Mexican food" - wild boar in a chocolate mole. The people were warm and friendly. Oaxaca is on my bucket list. Blessings from North Carolina.

I'm from Tijuana and I haven't even tried most of these places, we're so blessed to have so many options to eat good food. The sad part today is that due to the pandemic we can only have tacos to go and like Mark said, the best way to eat them is standing up next to the truck. By the way I don't know how Mark can fit so much food, some of those tacos were huge.

Fun fact: The Xolotacos he went to are named after a soccer team based in Tijuana called Club Tijuana. And their nickname is colors because the team mascot is a xoloitzcuintle.
I lived in TJ for about a year and half. First I lived in Playas, then just down the road from the Famous Arch off an alley called Zeta.

I’ve eaten so many tacos here in California at many good restaurants but there’s something about the tacos in Mexico that makes them taste better. It’s like they are on another level. FYI I have 5 taquerias within a 1 mile radius but they don’t even compare.

my family is mexican but I was born in the u.s. and I make mexican food 5 days a week lol
but I love all of other types of food and cultures. I try to try something new once a month! and if I like it, I try to make it myself as authentically as I can .
my husband however is not willing to travel or try many new foods or etc. but my whole life I have been interested in history and other cultures and love learning everything about them. its pretty much a passion of mine. other cultures are so beautiful. anytime we have ever been anywhere I like going to historic towns and places, and more cultural places than the "vacation " areas.
i have a job and I am saving up to go places, because although hec has no interest in ever visiting my elderly family in mexico, I do! and he promised that if I saved my own money for it, and anywhere I have learned the language we can go(he only speaks english)

I went to Mexico in November of 2018, the whole trip was great but the thing I remember the most is the food, can't wait to go back someday.
