i just got back from tijuana a couple of weeks ago! i had so much fun, had some unbelievably delicious food and they have a great night life scene too. will be going back very soon.
So glad you had a great trip!!!
i agree that TJ is very underrated. Media always say it's dangerous city but there are many kind and nice people for sure. Especially best tacos!
We agree! It was a fun time here!
I got teary during the part where you visit the wall.. okay I did shed a tear. My family crossed into the US via the Tijuana border before catching a flight in San Diego to Chicago, where they settled. - Jenny
Awww we’re glad it resonated with you! We’d be curious to see you guys visit here next.
Great channel! This page deserves more subscribers!
Thank you 🥹💕💕
Agreed!!
excellent intro! I'm hooked 🤩 commenting as I watch! - Jenny
Awww thanks so much for all these comments!
Thanks for mentioning the upcoming celebration of the ceaser salad! I would love to go during that time
You totally should go. Our waiter really sold us on it!
Nice job on this one. Really like the music. Where did you pick it up??
Thank you! We always use epidemic sound for our music :) we have a sign up link for it in the description!
Just found your channel. You guys are fantastic. Love your enthusiasm.
Just.. you go to very expensive places !!!
We're about to do Tijuana, San Diego & Guadalupe .. 😊
Love it. I’m from Tijuana and currently living in Maryland and I’m traveling to Tijuana next month to visit my family
Have the best trip!!
I used to live in Tijuana and would cross every day for work. Zona Norte and Rinconada de Otay were my go to spots. Thank you so much for covering Tijuana, keep up the great work! Is Ensenada or Mexicali next on your bucket lists?
Oh wow! That’s cool! We are going to Ensenada next week :)
@@TouristtoLocal that's awesome! I can't wait for the video !
I really loved hearing your story and vulnerability about the wall, it's so important to hear your voices on this topic. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks so much 💕💕
Love seeing Napa! Tiajuana is a bit too much for me busy-wise, but to try that Caesar salad, yes please, lol. Your Airbnb is cute. The wall just makes me sad, I know that your experience was hard for you both but luckily it has a happy ending. Wow, the place you ate was like a fancy food court!
It is one busy place, that’s for sure!!! Thanks for watching!
Loved loved loved this episode! Question: is Napa's name because she likes to Napa-lot? lol I'd assumed it was a nod to Napa Valley or something but after this video, me entró esa duda! jaja
Hahahaha she is named after Napa Valley, but we are always calling her “miss naps-a-lot” since she is quite the sleepy head ☺️
I love this!!!!!!
Thank you 💕🥹
Guys this was so nice to watch and bring back some great memories from when I visited Tijuana back in Jan 2019. Especially seeing Tacos El Frances de Playas again 😍🌮🌮🌮
Awww so glad it brought back some good memories!! Thanks for watching!
Try tacos El dorado in Otay. It's about 15 minutes from El Centro. It's not a TH-cam or IG spot, but the best birra tacos you'll eat
We are super into birria right now, so we definitely need to check that out. Thanks for the recommendation!
16:01 So excited that you guys are going to be including pet friendly places 😊🎉❤️🐕👍🌞
Glad you’re excited! We were shocked by how many pet friendly places we found!
Sometimes the USA media loves talking about Mexico about being dangerous, but they never really talk about what’s really going on in their own country.
Truth!
It is dangerous; go out after 6
Be my guest
Exactly thats true
When I go to Tijuana, I like to… experience something new. I feel like there’s always something new and interesting to experience every time I’m there. There’s a perfect song for Tijuana: Tijuana Makes me Happy. I have long been captivated by the city and completely agree with everything you guys express about the city. You should see the wall from the other side in San Diego at Friendship Park. It’s not open very often, but it’s an amazing experience and really moving.
That’s so true, there is so much to see here. We had no idea you could visit the other side of the wall! Thanks for watching!
nice you did a video on Tijuana, being from San Diego my first trips were in the 50's with my Dad. Coming from a devoured family my Dad would get me for the weekend and we would head to TJ. He would drop me of to play with his friends kids and he would head to the Bar. I didn't know it at the time but my Mom would head to TJ to go swing dancing. I stop at my Mom's always on my way to Mexico, in December. I stoped in TJ to get my Schipperke service dog's health book stamped, a must to fly, and she pulled out a Caesar's card from the 50's with the phone # 5-29-23 and the address 5TH and Main, yes before the street was renamed. On the back of the card is the original recipe for the Caesar salad. How cool is that. At this time I'm at Casa Marcado restaurant in Coatepec. Best Moli around, they even have a Moli Museum. Cheers, from the State of Veracruz....
What a beautiful memory you’ve shared 💕 I’m sure you’ve seen it change a lot over the decades then. Thanks so much for watching!
You guys are one of my guides for my travels in Mexico thank you
When I go to Tijuana I like to visit el Hong Kong 🤣
Congrats for making it to the end of the video 🙌
As a resident of San Diego, I would not want to wait 5 hours in line to cross the border back and forth for tacos, or anything else when we have them here but if you live in Tijuana I suppose its great.
It’s a place people either love or hate! Which taco spots do you recommend in San Diego?
@@TouristtoLocal Lola 55. Michelin star rated taco spot, meat cooked on firewood.
Better tacos and seafood.
@@heliosf2080 maybe cheaper but definitely not better. Once you factor in the time and hassle to cross the border it’s totally not worth it to go eat anything over there
@BumSheep it's definitely better. There's more variety of tacos to start. Now after that there's 20x more taquerias on average and also the quality. How often do you see rib eye tacos on the streets of San Diego or bluefin tuna? Almost impossible while there's plenty in tj
I can’t wait to do a quick day or weekend trip to Tijuana. Luckily I live nearby.
Oh yay!!! Glad to hear that! Have a fantastic time!
I love TJ..................Hong Kong 😜,,,,jkjk I love Rosarita close to it
Hahahha
@@TouristtoLocal thanks for the Local taco gems ( taqueria Franks ) 👌
Thanks so much for watching!!
🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️
Thanks for watching!
It’s essentially Vegas on meth with some Hispanic flavor
taco math 😆 hahaha
🌮+🌮=🤤
omg chilaquiles con burrata? I need to try that. How was it?
It was life changing yet also sad since we know we will never find these again!!
“Soggy” chilaquiles are better than crispy
Ooooooh we didn't realize that there is a debate between soggy vs crunchy!
@@TouristtoLocal there is no debate lol they’re chilaquiles, not nachos 🤣
When I go to TJ I just like to immerse myself in the culture. You should have explored Playas a bit more. Walking down the streets there's neat little restaurants and coffee shops on every street. There's also a little gastro park about two blocks from wal-mart. Pee-Wee's ribs in playas is as good as anything you'll get.
We spent some time at a cafe in playas off camera and really enjoyed it! Thanks for the tips when we come back!!
@@TouristtoLocalI stayed in a airbnb on a street called de las rocas. It was two or three blocks from both the oxxo on the beach and walmart. Someone on the corner had turned their home into the best little coffe shop called aquelarre de cafe, and just down the street from that was a great taco place called taqueria el torito. And a thrifty ice cream place. Other than all the noisy dogs it was perfect. Noisy dogs are everywhere in TJ tho.
It’s nice to see you did it right and became a citizen and that’s what people need to do other wise you don’t know who’s coming in sorry you don’t like it
I wish people would stop bringing their dogs to restaurants
Highly recommend you don’t watch our upcoming San Diego video then 😅😅😅
es tu hija??
🐶 si!
Just don’t go surfing with a nice truck without full coverage. SMH
And definitely don't confront criminals in a foreign country when you shouldn't even do it in your own country
I have been wanting to visit Tijuana so much. But my husband listens to the media 😢
That's tough :/ Maybe start with some other spot in Mexico to warm him up to the idea!
The media or the stats? It’s the most dangerous city on the world, there’s more to the city than the places designated for rich foreigners to go on vacation lol find a place to stay in the actual city, I would love to see that video
Keep listening
Policies and procedures of an tijuana immigrant michel feiu was with micael feliu he is on ther paperwork sh went with a soccer player 19 he said maybe they are in love let's see that's guys I'd oh nthey identified in tijuna, mexico it shouldtbbejfgkkgkg
Mexico has some wonderful places but Tijuana is not one of them
We wouldn't say it would be in our top 10 mexican cities, but we enjoyed it for what it was :)
It’s overrated and gross
nah the food is the best in Mexico
💯
Tj is trash: if any town is even worth to visit a few hours; it would be Ensenada
