I agree with you about the guy playing Ezra. He is perfect. His voice even sounds perfect. I was a little underwhelmed by his display of the force, considering it was set up like it was going to be this huge thing, like he had been probably practicing all this time. Yet even in Rebels, he had displayed stronger powers. Still, when he froze Shin's lightsaber, that was epic.
i thought he proved to be pretty strong with the force still, but i know we’ll be seeing a lot more of his skills eventually!
He was he pushing the plasma backwards ... shin was like wtf ... lol ... and its like he was born to play erza ... great casting ... really great casting for everyone 👍🏻
That crotchety dude on the council has ZERO human cyborg relations and I want Chopper to smack him around a bit before this is over. It's tough to theorize more based off this episode but so many cool moments. Ahsoka showing way more emotion is my favorite though, between the way she was talking about Anakin holding back tears and then legit laughing when she saw Ezra was so cool
The way that Hayden circles and that little staccato beat in the background is just *chefs kiss* with the audio of Anakin saying “General Grievous, Assaj Ventress … even Count Dooku.”
There’s something about the beat and rhythm of that music with Anakin in clone wars gear that is just so right.
The look on shins face when erza forced stopped her lightsaber was priceless ... esp since she was just told she was trained to be something more ...

Human cyborg relations, loved seeing C-3PO❤!! This episode was absolutely amazing, loved it sooo much, from having more Anakin and Ahsoka together even if he was just in hologram form with his training instructions to her! Also had a big smile the whole time with Sabine and Ezra together, such a perfect connection between them, also really loved seeing Sabine be able to force sense Ahsoka calling out to her as well as Ezra using just the force when fighting especially him stopping Shin's lightsaber, so cool! Happy you loved it as well and can't wait to hear you on the podcast, May the force be with you always ❤

@@laneybyers I think Ahsoka had a more memorable reaction to reuniting with him tbh that reunion between Sabine and him was a touch underwhelming. They got Ahsoka’s emotion exactly right.
Fantastic episode! Loves the interactions between Ezra and Sabine. Ahsoka hugging Ezra was soooo wholesome 😊 I wonder what is going on with Baylan? What is he after??
To me I personally have no clue. Laney is probably going to tell us tomorrow on Sith Talk, the podcast she’ll be a part of. Tune in to that one. I’m sure she’ll explain it. She’s one of the best TH-camrs out there as far as explaining the context of Star Wars in every way possible as you know!

my favorite part, and I can't exactly explain why, is when Ahsoka laughed after hugging Ezra. And they didnt' retcon the sequels *YET*
something about her laughing shocked me and made me think “wait, have we ever heard her laugh before?”😂

Love the continued easter eggs and Clone Wars and Rebels reunions. Ahsoka's so joyful again. She fought two out of three yet has fought Baylan twice, his lightsaber igniting with the sound of Dooku's . Really fun episode.
Human cyborg relations… seeing 3PO was so perfect. Having never watched the animated series’, and learning on the fly, it was comforting to see a character I know that has been there from the beginning
you’re brave watching this series and learning as you go! i would be way too confused! i’m glad 3PO was able to make this show feel connected to the main story :)

Thrawn waiting for his cargo to finish loading gives me flashbacks to dial-up Internet.
My three favorite parts from Ahsoka are 1. Anakin Skywalker Hologram telling Ahsoka to prepare herself for threats in case he's not there to protect her, 2. When C-3po appear as a cameo and 3.When Anakin mentioned Asajj Ventress for the first time in live action this episode was great and heroic 👍🏽👏🏾👍🏽

This was a fantastic episode and reaction!!! I can’t wait for the finale!! (If episode 8 is the finale, I heard there could be 10, but probably just 8) I freaked when I saw C-3PO, and when Sabine felt Ashoka’s presence!!! I love Huyang, and Thrawn is scary smart my gosh!!! Great reaction Laney!!!🤍

I think it was a good episode. It does leave me feeling disappointed. If this was Rebel's we'd still have like 15 more episodes in the season. I guess, I'm feeling disappointed now, because it has become obvious we wont be getting all the answers this season. There just isn't enough time, to answer all the questions. That means we are going to have to wait years, for another season or film. Some of the answers I had hoped for:
-What's Baylan's deal? This seems like it could take a whole season to answer.
-Who is Shin, and what's her and Baylan's history? Also what will Shin do now?
-The mysteries of the new galaxy, and Peridia.
- With more episodes, we might have seen a story arc, where Ezra and Ahsoka are angry at Sabine, but eventually get over it.
- Would have liked to see much more of the Night Sisters, their magic, their history/connection to the planet.
- Obviously we will see whether or not Thrawn escapes, as the conclusion to the next episode. So that probably will be answered. As well, we will see whether our Rebels escape. I just wish we had at least 3 more episodes.
i have all of the same questions! i also wish this show was given a 12 episode format like Andor, but i’m thinking we’ll have a second season to look forward to. it’ll be hard to wait!
I thought about that the other day, but if you split the series down into 20-minute episodes like the animated Rebels, that's 19-20 episodes, almost a full season. Okay... from a certain point of view lol.

Human Cyborg Relations🙂 Like you I didn't expect to see him but it was great and he saved the day. Interesting that every time in every series when confronted the Republic always refuses believe there are active fragments of the Empire. Also I believe Balin is looking for the unification of the Force through a merge of the two sides to achieve true balance. It very interesting to me his motivation for all this. Also when Thrawn find out about who Ahsoka's master his whole attitude change. That was cool. Much Love to you and all the best. So happy to see your channel growing because you had less than 40 when I came in. 🙂❤👍
I think Baylan senses Shin's desire for belonging. She wants power in the here-and-now and seems confused/uninterested in her Master's plan. His foresight sees her with the Empire.

Human cyborg relations… Good stuff. I believe that Baylan Skoll is speaking from Dave Filoni's perspective. The storyline following Thrawn's return to power is part of the predictable back and forth battle between light and dark in the Star Wars Universe. Baylan (and Filoni) are looking for something new to end this cycle and start a new beginning (i.e. a Ragnarok for Star Wars) that will bring a fresh change to reinvigorate the franchise. I'm hoping its Abeloth and that she will be the Thanos of Star Wars that leads into Dave Filoni's new mashup movie.

Love seeing C3-PO. I have a question, how does Ezra stop Shin by only using the Force ? he must be very, very strong with the Force, I'm one with the Force, the Force is with me hehe😅😅 lol
ezra is WAY stronger than we think! he was strong in rebels but he’s older now and one with the force :)
Thrawn also said Ashoka and Ezra reminded him of Jedis of old

@@laneybyersI didn’t know if you knew or not about why they were fighting without the sabers but it was a direct shoutout to Deborah Chao. Filoni’s love for the only female director Star Wars has ever had. And her choice to also bring back Hayden went a long way with him. I know that because he spoke about in interviews. So I didn’t know if you saw that, but I’m assuming since you know a ton, that you might’ve seen it. But Filoni’s attention to detail is awesome 😇

finally someone besides me who liked this episode
A lot of cool stuff this episode. Anakin, 3PO, more lightsaber battles. The waves in shin’s blade when Ezra was pushing it away with the force looked so awesome. I really like the actor playing Ezra, he’s doing an amazing job, and Ezra and Sabine fighting together was great.
Regarding Baylan, I still don’t know what his endgame is, but he knew Shin wanted power so he parted ways with her so she could follow that path, which is not something he’s interested in. His goal is finding whatever power this is on that planet, which I’m wondering if it’s the same thing that has the witches so eager to leave. So many questions about that.
Also that was totally Admiral Ackbar next to mon mothma in the court. And they should have let chopper take care of that one senator lol. I can’t wait for the finale, I hope it’s a long runtime.

I was glad to see it was human cyborg relations making a cameo instead of R2. But I thought his movements were a little off from what Anthony Daniels used to do.

Agree with second fav episode. Not to detract by all the great stuff we saw this episode, but my favorite parts were seeing more force use again! Seeing Ahsoka jumping from the ship with a force landing, Ezra going ham with its use, it was so great to see again. I feel I haven't seen stuff like that, at least in live action, since seeing obi wan jumping in the prequels during grievous fight. I guess in Obi Wan Darth Vader did some wild things with it. But yeah those were highlights for me xD episode was great tho! Thrawns plan to leave bombs where ahsoka dropped in... holy scary brain that guy has... cool nightsister use of magic, Ahsoka trusting in the force to fly through the debris field. Omg the training holo was amazing too! Heras sass to the council member.

4:04 I think in his books and maybe also comics we learn that Thrawn knows Anakin and that he became Vader too.
It’s a little odd… I hope @laneybyers can explain that one over at sith talk tomorrow. Because Thrawn said last episode he wanted to know everything about her, “her home world, upbringing, *her master,* everything.” I think it would be odd if he didn’t know but apparently he doesn’t because even in this episode he has to be told about it and then makes sure of it by checking with Morgan Ellsbeth. I’ve always questioned how he could’ve known Anakin without knowing that he became Vader but I guess that was still a secret from most people. Maybe he just didn’t know who Vader was under the mask. That’s my best guess. But I’m like … there’s no way he didn’t know. He’s survived everything.

I’m gonna miss these characters. I know we’re getting the Thrawn movie in 2024, but … I’m gonna miss this show. I hope we get a season 2 which is gonna be set after the Thrawn movie.
I know that Ewan wants an Obi Wan Kenobi season 2 as well, more focused on Vader which means more Hayden Christensen!!! (Please, Dave Filoni and Deborah Chao and Disney+!!!)

All the episodes have been 9's out of 10 for me , But this episode was definitely the worst 5 out of 10 And I'm being generous not good not bad. But yeah definitely had some of the worst fight Choreography I've seen in a while..And that's just one of the issues there's many more but I'm sure you could figure them out... But one is why not say yes Jacen is hera's son with kanan .. That would've been a really happy moment but still wouldn't of helped the episode.. Can't put my finger on the rest it's really hard to explain I just didn't feel this episode..
