Man the very final scene with the kid is just perfect. Classic linking the finale with the first episode, but it just makes you feel warm inside how Sandy taking a chance on Ryan led him to this point, where he himself is in the position to help others.
Yeah, Sandy was the heart of the show and I hated when they started writing storylines messing with his and Kirsten’s marriage. Glad they didn’t go Melrose Place on us and make everyone an evil villain.
@@TommyD1213ya but I do t mind them shaking up sandy and Kirsten’s relationship, it was real and ended up making their relationship even stronger at end
Even though I hated when Marissa died I actually loved this ending. Especially how Ryan made his dream come true and then saw a kid that needed help and did exactly what Sandy had done for him.
i was literally felt way too good and very nostalgic when ryan enters sandy's house and get glimpses from the past, he walks to poolhouse with another glimpse and when he leave the house, he has a glimpse of "sandy bringing him to his home and seeing marissa"

natalie dash I've watched alot of shows, and it's hard to decide which ones are the best, but I tell you this... the way OTH & The O.C. has made me feel no other show can compare to.
Yes, they are the two best teen dramas ever. Because they are both shows about two brothers growing up together. Adoptive brothers Ryan and Seth and half brothers Nathan and Lucas.
i think its sad how marissa is standing at the end of the drive like that,as he drives away to his new life...its always felt to me that its trying to show she will never get to grow up, move out and have a new life. shes stuck there and young forever.
You’re so right, It’s incredibly emotional, she’s left being young forever and everyone gets to grow up except her, not to mention the musical score at 1:54
Every once in a while, when I remember this scene I come here and watch it. It’s always the same feeling. They truly don’t make shows like this when you really think about it.
I never really watched the finale of the show, but I think it was pretty good. Very good. Show about coming up age and moving on and starting over again.
Then Ryan rescued that kid and realised his true calling was becoming a detective so he packed up his bags and enrolled into police academy where his identity was at risk due to being a key witness to a murder so he changed his name to Jim Gordon and moved to Gotham.
Out of all shows I watched and still watch, this has the best ending . I love how Ryan walks through the house reminiscing on when he first got there, and then seeing Marissa. It’s very well done. Always makes me sad. And then I love the future clips of what everyone is up to.
Yes, but Ryan also had an impact on their lives, Coopers' lives, and others. For me, that's why the series feels like real life - we all change each other, it isn't from one side nor one hero teaches all people how to fix their issues, how to make better decisions. We just learn together, grow together, and become our better version of ourselves together. I love to know that The O.C. taught me things like these
Marissa standing on the driveway as Ryan leaves will always be hauntingly beautiful. The last thing he sees every-time he left the O.C. Even when she’s no longer with him, She’ll always stay with him. The show was never the same without her ❤🕊️

Yeah when he was 18 in Season 3 and he was just visiting. You need to remember that this last scene with Ryan take place about 10-15 years from than which is around the age of the boy in the scene. N00b
Does anyone think Ben Mackenzie just reminds you a tiny bit of Michael J. Fox(x?) No? Just me? Okay. I loved the flashback part and the end when he helped that kid like Sandy helped him. :)
Ugh this make me want to cry. Such an amazing show. I feel so emotionally invested in the characters. WHHYYYY can't the OC still be on. I miss it so much and hate knowing I'll never see a new episode again:'(
2 things wrong with the o.c 1. marissa dies and 2. there wasnt enough seasons. they really fucked up the show when they killed marissa, i loved ryan and marissa's relationship, loved seeing them together, it just wasnt right when they wernt together. but it was good how they were on and off again and dated different people. it made the show interesting. i watched this show religiously and it still is my favourite series, tho it doesnt run anymore
Her death did rejuvenate the show and you can't blame the show for not running longer, since it was cancelled. Plus I believe Schwartz always wanted to.
Mischa chose to cut off her character Marissa by Death. She said she was given 2 choices. She was very hard to work with and always down, she was getting into trouble with the law and doing drugs at the time. No one could stand to work with her.
Rachael Lee aw really damn, if only she was good to work with then, such a shame, i'd like it if they brought it back somehow, even if marissa wont be on the show, i'd still watch it anyway
For someone who actually just finished watching the show for the first time I have to say that this was a really good ending to the show in my opinion season four is the best because it’s less drama than the previous seasons but overall the ending to the show was really well done the montage of Ryan, looking at the house, the younger self to now was just really well done. Everyone moved on. Everyone was able to just have a better life, and of course, that ending scene where he wants to help the younger kid was just such a homage to what Sandy wanted to help him. I love the show the show is really great Really well done. Definitely miss it.
I dont know what it is but every time I watch this scene, it makes me breathless. Seriously, breath taking moment here. I still dont get it why they stopped this show and why they killed Marissa. It could still go on because of Ryan & Marissa. One of the greatest things ever, The O.C.

I'm here in 2021 because this show will always be in my heart!❤️
Hits you in the feels . Year 8 for me for the first season of the oc .. what aroller coaster it is when you get your first gf and the ups and downs
Does anyone think Ben Mackenzie just reminds you a tiny bit of Michael J. Fox(x?) No? Just me? Okay. I loved the flashback part and the end when he helped that kid like Sandy helped him. :)
also she didn't even complain when Ryan had to leave Newport to help Theresa with the baby. she felt sad but didn't stop him for doing the right thing
Rachael Lee aw really damn, if only she was good to work with then, such a shame, i'd like it if they brought it back somehow, even if marissa wont be on the show, i'd still watch it anyway
they shouln't have ended the show!
Years later when I re-watched the OC I realized how much of a comic book show it was....
What do u mean?
@@efeklau6502 I think he means there were a lot of comic book references
For someone who actually just finished watching the show for the first time I have to say that this was a really good ending to the show in my opinion season four is the best because it’s less drama than the previous seasons but overall the ending to the show was really well done the montage of Ryan, looking at the house, the younger self to now was just really well done. Everyone moved on. Everyone was able to just have a better life, and of course, that ending scene where he wants to help the younger kid was just such a homage to what Sandy wanted to help him.
I love the show the show is really great Really well done. Definitely miss it.
Years later that final scene still gets me 09.17.21
Love OC!! it's funny to see how ryan had changed what he was at first episode! just awesome serie!
I dont know what it is but every time I watch this scene, it makes me breathless. Seriously, breath taking moment here. I still dont get it why they stopped this show and why they killed Marissa. It could still go on because of Ryan & Marissa. One of the greatest things ever, The O.C.
I WANNA CRY
Saying goodbye to Johy's flat 😢
Love the full circle ending... OC = nostalgia
one of the best shows in the story of humanity
