I don’t care what anyone says about Mischa but she is the OC and made it what it is today! Yes Ryan was technically the main character but Marissa really took the main character role. Season 4 seemed so quiet and dull without Marissa. Mischa is an amazing actress that deserves the world. Sad world we live in that she received a disgusting amount of hate during her younger years just for entertaining the public😢
Oh yeah it was all about her, that’s what I got from it, how these guys came into her life and tossed things up for the OC girl, her mental health. she was the object being pursued, completely the star.
Season 4 was refreshing and fun after the dumpster fire mess that marrisa became. Other characters actaully had a chance to thrive and finally have fun with the script.
Ok, I never write comments but.. Watched the whole episode of the interview. What a beautiful and inspirational person you are, Mischa! As you said, life is a story and the best we can do is to accept it, own it and learn from every situation. Loosing the hope on the way is a dark part ot it. And how hard it is to actually Believe that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. In my eyes, your life trajectory is simply iconic. And I am happy to see that it is getting more and more recognized. Wishing you a plenty of happiness, stability, and health. PS: Watched the "Lawn Dogs" only a few years ago and OMG.. what a talented actress you are. Your presence is very strong, whether it is in movies or during interviews. Keeping my fingers crossed for you! 🍀
That makes me a Little sad lol. I always thought they protected her like a little sister type of relationship. I mean they had so much chemistry it makes sense that was why… but Ben should not have gotten with someone who was under age. What’s up with that.
I agree completely, but sadly, I feel like it was so normalized back then that everyone thought it was no big deal and a lot of horrible things were allowed. Like a generational issue. Nowadays people realize how fucked up some things are, and they speak up and call out that behavior (thank God), but it was way different then. I am 33 years old, and I remember my own mother being fine (and pretty much encouraging it) with me dating guys a few years older than me (21, 22) when I was like 16/17 because it was also normalized in her youth, and 'they were more mature' and she felt I would be safer than with a kid my age, and I saw nothing wrong with that. Now I realize that I wasn't safe at all, and that a lot of things I experienced were wrong, but... It took me years to understand that. If I could talk to my younger self, I'd tell her to RUN, but it's hard to see the red flags when you're inexperienced, young and immature. ☹️
i'm currently listening to this podcast episode and i'm completely blown away by her ! So many things she has said that have inspired me today ... i'm so happy that she sounds like she is in a really good place in her life ;)
Nobody called out 42 years old Sam Taylor-Johnson for dating an 18 years old Aaron Taylor-Johnson… So Ben and Mischas age gap doesn’t seem to be a big deal if you think about it
Wasn't there a story of how Ben wasn't sure if he wanted to do the show and they showed him a pic of Misha and he instantly said yes, because she was so pretty/hot? This alone is already super sus, but then even dating her ... I will never watch anything with him in it ever again. He is a major creep imo.
What I can understand from here ( I already suspected) she got punished and later they killed her character because she broke up with him. What did they expect?? That she would stay with him forever? She was 17. It’s normal to break up with your first boyfriend
Now it's more clear why she left, Marissa was my favorite character and Mischa is a great actress, I wish her the best. The only one thing she can be blamed is the choice to let Marissa die, she could have come back just for the last episode of the fourth season. Marissa deserved better.
There’s a reason they only lasted 1 season after her being cut off. And I don’t think like some people that her character couldn’t have a good ending. She was playing a 18 years old girl, a screw up one, we know. But we also know that so many teenagers have problems and then overcome them. Look at Brooke Davis, started as a screw up( less than Marissa, I know) but became a fan favourite, and a well developed character. If it was to end they should have let her come back and do the time jump when we could see her better and happy
@@thethrowawaythatstayed7055 if both are in mutual agreement, 17 is a very normal age to start a relationship with a 25-year-old person, i don't see anything wrong with that, at 25 you are little more than a teen
I liked her character the best, I actually liked season 3 when she went to another high school. I liked her new friends there. Seth and Rachel weren’t doing much that season. I wish Marissa could have had a happy ending!
Wait she and Ben actually dated? I could kind of sense it back then just because they had such amazing chemistry. Although knowing now she was only 17 and Ben was 25 when they did is crazy! Let alone completely illegal. 🫢 I’m so happy to see she’s doing a lot better now. I’ll always be a fan of her. We share the same birthday. The OC wasn’t the same when she left and the writers constantly did Marissa dirty. She deserved better. 💗
I feel like in the second and third seasons you could really tell that her and Ben couldn’t stand each other. Especially in moments where they were supposed to be lovey dovey
it sounds like she’s on some type of medication that’s effecting her ability to find the right word or maybe she has aphasia from some sort of brain injury we aren’t aware of. She never used to say like so much. I say this as someone who used to have epilepsy in the past, it can effect your ability to find the right words to say
Love your pods. But could we get some more color in there!?! Would love to see more interviews with colorful people if you get what I mean. 😊Kali Uchis // Karol g // Bad bunny // America ferrera // Gina Rodriguez // just an idea ❤
It’s sad, it sounds like she has some difficulty speaking. I can’t tell if it’s maybe because she’s on some medication that’s making her slur her words or it’s some form aphasia or something like that. I think she’s had a very hard life
Holy shit. She is just about 40 years old and all I heard from this "interview" is like, like, like, like, like, like,.....what the fk happened to society? Like, seriously??????

I’m confused though. Mischa is just implying things and then beating around the bush. I believe what she’s saying I just wish she would be more direct. Example: yes or no- did you have sex with Ben when you were 17 ????
When I watched the oc rewatch with the producer and they said that RYAN was the main character I was genuinely flabbergasted. No one cared about Ryan. He was just a prop to the Marissa storyline. The producers were too misogynistic to see it.
Ok but she was acting in inappropriate shows/movies as a CHILD way before OC and at 17 she was mentally more mature then others js I'm obsessed with her and think she made that show it was shit without her but as a fan I don't like hearing about the negatives all the time in her interviews
I recently saw her acting in Amazon movie and was impressed. Was not really aware of her younger role in OC. I hate all the victimhood talk. Sex appeal is part of the business if you chose that. Not condoning harassment or assault but they know what they are getting into and some of it is ugly. Always has been.
Women rarely know what they are doing, regardless of age. She wrecked her life and now plays the victim card for attention and sympathy. She is as dull and depressing as her OC character was.
She’s far from boring!!!!! People who followed her and watched the show WANT to know all about everything she’s talking about. She’s being real and telling people what happened from her perspective. And all of us fans are here for it!

In my world season three was the finale. The fourth season was sooooo bad

This surprises me to be honest. They kept it a secret really well and I didn't think the onscreen chemistry was that obvious.
