The Bay Barricade always struck me as basically an insane asylum patient with an extreme aggressive streak brought onto the Decepticons during the war because they saw a use for his otherwise unnecessary and oft-indiscriminate brutality and belligerent behaviour. Hence him snarling at and throwing goons around while Shockwave, far too large for Barricade to push around, just looks on. It would also explain his drool-spitting, frothing aggression when "interrogating" Sam in the first movie, and why he seems to just sort of lose his shit and let Sam make a run for it; he's _insane_ and experiencing cerebral issues that causes him pain when his brain runs too hot, so asking questions and restraining his violence at the same time actually physically hurts him. He's not just flailing for no reason when Sam makes a run for it; he's almost having an _aneurysm._ It's also part of why he just roams off-course when push comes to shove. He has 0 loyalty to the Decepticon cause, and is only aligned with them because they give him free license to indulge his violent instincts. He backs out and goes under the radar for his own survival, and the only reason he keeps coming back to the Decepticons instead of going it alone is because the Autobots would lock him up. He _hates them._ Poor bastard might've been a person if the war hadn't happened. He might have gotten the help he needs.
That's actually a really cool idea that makes a whole lot of sense in these movies, especially when you consider that the Decepticons use Barricade as a shock trooper, an unrestrained solider that's sent down to enemy lines to kill Autobots or die trying. To Megatron, it doesn't matter if Barricade lives or dies. If he lives, then he can continue to serve him and the Decepticon cause. If he dies, then it's one less loose end that Megatron has to deal with in the future. It's probably why Megatron never takes an issue with Barricade missing most of action in between the 1st, 3rd and 5th films.

In The Last Knight, the London Chase with Bumblebee was brutal, but sort of funny when Barricade is shot, trips over two cars, before getting hit head-first by a small-ish truck, and then him saying "Oh, that hurt" as a sort of shrugging-off gesture to what just happened, as he's been through a lot worse.
No matter what you think of the Michael Bay movies, we can all agree that Barricade was one of the best things to come out of them. Without the live action movies, we wouldnt have Barricade as we know him.

It's a good enough design. but his original is really good in my opinion and the more robotic tone of his voice. I don't like the transformers looking too human in the films. I like them looking an sounding a least somewhat alien. It what's makes them unique from humans.

Like, had TLK been his first design, Barricade likely would have shown up in other shows. I think the same could be applied to Bayverse characters like Jolt, Wheelie, Brains, the Wreckers, Sideswipe, and Frenzy. They’re pretty entertaining Bayverse characters but their designs can’t be properly translated.

On compare to Bumblebee,Barricade,as his direct rival,and opponent,is a little bit faster,has smaller overall size of body,then him.Thanks to idea of making him more compact in size, additional space appeared to equip him with more thick,and dense armour, that's why Barricade able to withstand more damage,then Bumblebee.Barricade mostly busy with fulfilling recon missions,yes, he's definitely pretty much aggressive,when necessary,yet he isn't stupid,he doesn't allow his anger to consume him completely,he understands,when to fight,when it's better to retreat,and when the best option is stay low,and unnoticed for enemy's eyes,to get necessary recon data.
Nicely done, a better closeup comparison of Barricade's voice from the first movie to the fifth. Despite Barricade has the same voice actor from both the first and fifth movie, fans will notice the difference in how he sounds, (first movie his voice was echoey, where as the fifth movie he had no echo, but I still feel a difference in the fifth due to the fact that he sounds close to Ironhide)
Patimus Prime those other voices that Barricade had such as in DOTM was him also using Soundwave's voice (Frank Welker) which I really felt did not belong. I prefer his normal voice with Jess Harnel. I'm basically just focusing on comparing that voice from both the first and fifth movie because they still just sound different.
I think in the first movie, Barricade sounds echoey and intimidating because it was through the perspective of Sam, a human who for the first time sees a giant evil robot chasing after him. Whereas in the last knight, Megatron is superior to him, therefore he can't be intimidating.
I'd like to think it's still the human's perspective as the high camera angle suggests. But then again, it might be the writer's intention to make Barricade sounds more alien rather than robotic. I'd say all Transformers in the first movie had echoey voices and they gradually disappear until Age of Extinction completely removed that. Now in the Last Knight, they sound almost completely human.

On compare to Bumblebee,Barricade,as his direct rival,and opponent,is a little bit faster,has smaller overall size of body,then him.Thanks to idea of making him more compact in size, additional space appeared to equip him with more thick,and dense armour, that's why Barricade able to withstand more damage,then Bumblebee.Barricade mostly busy with fulfilling recon missions,yes, he's definitely pretty much aggressive,when necessary,yet he isn't stupid,he doesn't allow his anger to consume him completely,he understands,when to fight,when it's better to retreat,and when the best option is stay low,and unnoticed for enemy's eyes,to get necessary recon data.

Nicely done, a better closeup comparison of Barricade's voice from the first movie to the fifth. Despite Barricade has the same voice actor from both the first and fifth movie, fans will notice the difference in how he sounds, (first movie his voice was echoey, where as the fifth movie he had no echo, but I still feel a difference in the fifth due to the fact that he sounds close to Ironhide)
Patimus Prime those other voices that Barricade had such as in DOTM was him also using Soundwave's voice (Frank Welker) which I really felt did not belong. I prefer his normal voice with Jess Harnel. I'm basically just focusing on comparing that voice from both the first and fifth movie because they still just sound different.
I think in the first movie, Barricade sounds echoey and intimidating because it was through the perspective of Sam, a human who for the first time sees a giant evil robot chasing after him. Whereas in the last knight, Megatron is superior to him, therefore he can't be intimidating.

I'd like to think it's still the human's perspective as the high camera angle suggests. But then again, it might be the writer's intention to make Barricade sounds more alien rather than robotic. I'd say all Transformers in the first movie had echoey voices and they gradually disappear until Age of Extinction completely removed that. Now in the Last Knight, they sound almost completely human.
