Remember, when people said it wasn't a good movie? Yeah, we were spoiled back than...
Other than John Connor’s Batman voice, it really was a decent movie. Only to have the franchise ruined by Daenerys Targaryen.
I had mixed feelings after I left the
cinema. I watched it yesterday on blu ray and it was surprisingly good! Some movies needs time
@@Robert-tu6di Also since then we saw how bad a "Terminator" movie could be, so even with all it's flaw it's not so bad.
Some ppl are just slow haha@@Robert-tu6di
Because movies today are terrible. I used to love movies, popcorn, surround sound, ice cold coke and snacks. I don't even watch tv now because everything is pushing some kind of agenda/propaganda. It's like some kind of apocalypse is on the horizon and we'll be telling our great grand kids about how great it used to be. 😂
Shooting a non pressurized container of flammable substance with a non explosive projectile with no effect broke the movie logic "It didn't work!", that was fantastic😂😂😂 big props for the realism
Take a look at this nerd
Yeah
It actually does work, just not well. All you need is a spark
still very dangerous and possible, since bullets often make sparks once hitting metal surfaces.
so although i would agree i also wouldn't bet my life on that.
@@SkinhoundI think the leak is not fast enough to reach the spark before it fades. Unless you shoot the tank again and create a spark when the substance is ALREADY leaking.
who would've thought this was going to be the last good Terminator movie 😔
Oh dear.
Wasn’t even considered good at the time. Definitely a Star Wars prequel situation, where we definitely got mid movies but we had no idea how much worse it could get
exactly@@MikeMarlowe-ym3zy
I must interject on behalf of the Star Wars prequels, they are, actually, amazing
@@sylph4252 they were extremely ambitious and creative, I will give you that, and that is a masterpiece compared to the AI written slop we’ve been getting
John Connor: "Evasive maneuvers now"
Pilot: "Oh yeah thanks for the heads up I wouldn't know otherwise to try and evade the thing that just blew my friend up."
exactly my thoughts, in many chase/battle scenes the commanding officer usually says that as if it is meant something.
commanding office usually deals with macro issues, micro management ( to a certain degree ) is usually left to field personnel, thats why its important to have a "good pilot" otherwise anyone who could follow simple orders would be able to carry out the demanding tasks that these people are put through
@@condor07usa You haven't seen the arrogance in some pilots then. Also, anyone considered it was not given as an order, but as a person concerned for the life of the pilot, i.e. a good friend - if that was your friend, wouldn't you be shouting the same at them?
To add to that some people might get blocked so to say when presented with a scenario ie people seeing a car stopped in the highway and not avoidong it or pilots taking command of the plane and countering the commands given by their copilot domming the aircraft. Air France comes to mind with that 777 incident over the sea
@@condor07usaThey say that for the audience, not for the pilots.
The pilot obviously wasn't in his right mind after his plane took all that port-side damage.
i admire how the giant robot snuck up on them silently yet in all subsequent scene its super noisy.
I always like to think of it tip toeing along like Megamind in his mech. 😂
Well it seems to me that the ground robot is deployed from the big airship so the silent approach is somewhat doable. You can see it "boarded" on the airship during the bridge scene
@@madmanjoe1002lmao
It was on silent mode
@@1260451 The giant ship with turbines and gets? That one is also weirdly silent when not on screen.
The sound effects really add an ominous element to this scene
Funny, here I am sitting, wondering why sound is such a garbage...
Man, I really love the sound design of the machines in this movie. The almost-constant "vocalizations"/sound of their servos really increases the menace of their presence.
exactly! it was soo different from any other movies!
yea for sure, electric motobikes with petrol engine sound, so nice
IKR
Always thought that, too. Especially when Marcus first encountered the t600
One of the most terrifying terminators in the entire series
I put it second or third behind T-800 and T-1000.
@@jexelbur6872 I can agree its the 3rd most scary Terminator in all the films! The sound of it is menacing! It has some pretty accurate shooting (unless it gets blasted in a heap of smoke and fire). It carries two motorcycle Terminators within its legs. And it has the support of its own ship and 2 HK ships too. This thing was a beast. Imagine if SkyNet made the T800 this big!
The thing that strikes fear into me is the inhumanity of it. You don’t get the closure of seeing a persons face kill you; you see a large machine. It doesn’t care if you live or die. It does what it is programmed to do, with no thought.
@@kindnessark8064yeah, it's fuckin BS
@@hazardeurcry more chode.
The intensity level during this scene is off the chart,
it's one near-death experience after another.
The film was rather good up to this point. After the chase scene the quality and action kind of died. It is a shame as it had some great potential this!
Shut up stupid
It's called plot armour 🤣
As evidenced by the first projectile that somehow doesn't kill but launches everybody sideways for some reason.
"You brought them here." He actually did.

I like the 2 motorbike things with 2 plasma rifles on each side choosing not to fire for like 2 minutes lol.
It can't do that much damage like the big gun because they're too small. They were trying to aim for the crucial target like the engine, the wheels and the driver
Mebbe limited power cells.
I like how the robots turn into easily rideable human vehicle motorcycles when hurt
I believe the two moto-terminators goal is to track the get away humans. The secondary objective appears to be stopping the humans by firing at the truck. But I believe these are likely designed to mostly track and follow. This is because the Harvester ship and HK both find the truck on the bridge despite having driven very far away from the attack scene. Its likely the moto-terminators have a tracking system onboard so the HK or Harvesters can find them.
Another possibility for the Moto-Terminators not opening fire much could be down to power consumption. We see a majority of Terminator units still use human standard bullet guns and not laser blasters. The blasters are mostly seen on larger units like Harvesters, HK's, and Torrents. Considering this is also the early days of SkyNet its extremely likely the moto-terminators only has a very limited amount of power to use blasters like these on such a small infiltration unit.
According to canon, the mototerminators' purpose is to roundup fleeing humans so the Harvester can catch up and collect them. They attack seeking to disable the vehicle instead of outright destroying it.
RIP Anton Yelchin. He was great in this movie Star Trek.
This isn't Star Trek.

Salvation was such a great movie. If they would of just continued the series following salvation and not try to reboot the damn thing, ot would of probably been better.
it was a shit m ovie in a long series of shit movies. it is less shit than some others but it's still a pile of shit
I agree they hit the nail on the head, it’s unfortunate they didn’t continue this story line it was great.
This big size machine was able to tiptoe to their hideout and capture humans😂😂

Your second statement explains your first.
It was great until the third act.
They just wanted more purple lasers
My dad and I both agree this is the last great one. Salvation is his favorite while 2 is my favorite
0:58 Lego Yoda death sound
The designs of the moto-Terminators are cool but they feel too advanced for the time period, where nearly everything else was chunky, heavy, and not very fast. Salvation wasn't great, but it was still a lot better than the Terminator movies that followed. They should have stayed in this era instead of abandoning it after one film.
Completely agree. They have literally butchered that franchise, stomped it into the ground. It’s a goddamn shame what Hollywood has become.
How is an AI-controlled gyrostabilized motorcycle more advanced than an 18-meter-tall titan with a long-range plasma cannon?
It's not practical to make everything hyper advanced, Skynet would be constantly recalling all units for upgrades whenever it discovered something new that could be implemented. My theory is that the harvesters are newer and fewer in number and specific for a simple task, and were equipped with the existing moto-terminators to mitigate the spread of knowledge about them, as the movie does establish the harvesters to be part of a secret program by skynet.

"Eavsive maneuvers now!"
"DUDE I'M IN A FUCKING A-10!"
I watched those crates turn complete circles within Bincombe valley. Between the Knoll and Tout Down - never left the bowl of the valley. Watched F-15s performing turns over the same area: entered stage left, exited stage right, went beyond Sutton Poyntz, Came Down and Ridgeway Hill before they were back over Bincombe.
A-10s can fucking turn; they're just slow.
Dont underestimate the A-10.
They're made to perform at slower airspeeds.
They're not supersonic.
But they got the "traction" of two turbofans. Pushes them along better. Which helps keep their energy in tight turns.
👌
@@AndrewGivens Yeah and how does that exactly build up to your argument? they can't dog fight because they will bleed all their energy faster than most planes because it is not designed to dogfight
@@davecrupel2817 "do not underestimate the A-10" you are literally fighting a super fighter built by a rogue super intelligent AI who knows the best possible way to build a fighter and defeat another. what you shouldn't underestimate is the missiles A10s used in the war. Apart from that they are helpless against another fighter because first of all who tf dogfights these days? second of all, even if they decided to dogfight every single other aircraft is faster and can disengage easily if they feel uneasy about the situation. Lastly, even if the A10 is built for slower speed who tf is gonna fall for it? everyone knows that and they simply won't take the fight to the A10s advantage. its a terrible aircraft still
@@davecrupel2817 yeah that literally doesn’t matter. They are fucking terrible for dogfighting because that’s not what they’re designed for.
I love the harvester, it’s a badass design, that looks and sounds cool. I love when it walks out of the flames, like “yeah okay, nice try mfers” 😂
Great stuff as always from Worthington. His portrayal of a vaguely confused cyborg with zero emotional range was dead on. Why, I don't think there was a single instant in that whole movie where he seemed in danger of expressing something a human being might identify as a feeling. What a fantastic actor.
what a f%&k
The late 2000s to early 2010s was just a massive push for Sam Worthington to be the next "guy" in Hollywood.
😂 like seriously who was he banging to get this many lead roles
Honestly I really didn’t understand why people didn’t like this movie, it’s one of my favorites
If you gave some people a $100.00 bill, they'd complain that it was wrinkled. Some people are just never satisfied.
The harvester sound effects were on point. It's a terrifying electric warble that chills to your bones.
This was probably the best of the new terminator movies .
I think that Terminator is the base of ROTB’s Scourge’s design. Worth it!
This part right here was pretty much the only reason to watch this movie. I love everything about this sequence - even the sounds of the machines.
I never understood why there were so many haters. This and the Sarah Connor Chronicals were some of my favourite additions to the franchise. They need a new TV series to do it justice.
Rip to Anton. Was such a good actor.
It's kinda sad that this is the only Terminator movie that entirely takes place in the future after Judgement Day, and probably the only movie that got A-10 gun sound close to what it supposed to sound irl.

Just here for the A10 scene
Same here
@@A-Warthog-cc1wm And the keen eye should note - the A-10 is a ground support attack aircraft - being used as an Air interceptor in this - showing how utterly defeated the humans are - that their entire interceptor squadrons are destroyed - and relying on ground attack aircraft to fill the role - hence the HK easily taking them out.
When the war would of started - F-22, F-35s would of been first in, and wiped out, then back ups - F-18, F-15s, F-14, F-16 and so on down the list - loosing all your forces until you have basically A-10s, and bombers left.

This was such an awesome Terminator movie. It was crazy to me that people didn't think so.
Anyone else notice the harvester appears to rely on large, albeit advanced diesel engines for main power. Clever attention to detail from the production designer that tells us the robots are advanced but not quite advanced (at the year it's set) to enable a small fusion fuelcell to run a very large machine.
Saw this in theaters and let me tell you, my gut CHURNED when this scene came on, it felt like a real nightmare. My Dad even said he was worried he wouldn't know what to do to protect me and my sister in a situation like this. The size of the robot and the noises were far more jarring in theater, especially when it wasn't expected. GREAT SCENE.
Special effects hold up nicely
love the fact that the oil explosion roasted the humans as well!
This movie was the best of the Terminator sequels, after T2, in my humble opinion.
0:17 They start flying backwards 10 frames before the explosion even goes off. 2:49 The aerial shot has no giant Terminator in the explosion. 4:23 The overpass and rubble are behind them, then the overpass is above them and the rubble is in front of them and hits the window, then the overpass and rubble are behind them again.
I'm not sure if this is incredibly sloppy work or if the poor crew were in a race against time to get this out by the release date.
These just remind me of NOD units from command and conquer. Avatar and bikes
Screw the haters; this is one of my favorite Terminator movies for this fun sequence alone. It's got everything.
When Marcus got slammed down on top of that carrier and skipped across the water like a stone I knew he was not completely human.
7:26 how Marcus rolled😂
look's like a rag
The concept of this film was really cool! Just a real shame the quality was not as good as it could of been! I loved the part where the 2 resistance planes come flying in and take on an HK and the Harvester. But the Harvester clearly shows it can sustain a spare HK for protection and I love that the HK very quickly locks on the two planes to a point where it blows them both out of the sky within mere moments.
This scene clearly shows if the humans can get the surprise they can beat the machines but once the machines are in chase there is no chance of winning.
Also because they were trying to dogfight in fucking a10s
When I first saw this movie and saw that thing I was like, thank God we did not have to fight that thing in the old movies 😅
I love the sounds of the robot. Sounds really menacing.
Such an underrated movie. The heart transplant at the end ruined what should have been a masterpiece.

I've always had a soft spot for Salvation. Yeah, it's a bit clunky, Worthington has the range of a piece of wood, Bale looks bored and there's plot holes you could fly a 747 through, but I love the set design and gritty feel. The terminators have some great looks and sounds and movement. And let's be honest, it's the only decent one after T2😂
