I have a Party Rexy and I absolutely love it. It makes every river a little more fun. You can surf every wave you see and play every eddy, the boofs feel really rewarding. The one thing I disagree with is the narrowness or the instability of this boat. For me it feels way less narrow than the ripper.
I was referring to the bow area to the knees it’s definitely narrow up there and then widened out behind the cockpit and tail I realized was not clear in that statement but overall the ripper is more narrow throughout and I felt at 185 I was in the top end but the ripper felt perfect what’s your weight in that party rexy
I've had a Rexy for about 2 years and it's my go to boat for pretty much everything now. Once you get it dialed in it performs great. In gear I weigh very similar to 185lb/84kg and find no issues, I'm 6ft tall and the foot space is great in Palm Gradient boots.
Great video wade. I have found that the best way to paddle this boat is to steer with the stern, but to boof hard over every feature with your knees and hit every feature with the knee area while keeping your weight forward once you land but back as you boof. I've found as well the stern does seem to perform a little like a kick rockered stern, just without the skip
Looks a great boat & that river is a gem! Can`t wait for you to get your hands on a T-Rex & get your thoughts on EXO`s big creeker. Still haven`t paddled mine :(
I paddled 2 Rexys and really liked them. The only issue for me was the hip pads are not velcroed or riveted to the seat so they would shift and slide around.
I paddled one but found that your knees sit pretty low compared to the braaap of my dad or even my own axiom. It took me some efford to get it up but because the big wide tail once it's under the stern loads and puches u up. For my weight (65kg) I think I would need a party rexy to have a lot of fun with the tail. Also the positioning of the grab handles are pretty bad thats a bummer. Although the grab handle insinde the boat for carring it is amazing, every brand should use it. Love it!
agree with the handles I mentioned that in my walkthrough and really, I would personally also go with the party version over this because I'm a fan of playing off the tail

I keep watching this. I have the Party Rexy since I'm only 65kg (143lbs) without kit. So I'm still on the low-mid end of even that boat. So getting the tail down isn't easy for me (I usually end up doing low angle pivots unless I get the timing spot on with quite a bit of flow hitting the hull). I have to admit to always needing a lot of time to adapt to it after using the freestyle boat all summer. With the boofing, do you think the Rexy really needs to be properly cranked on edge? I think I'm under doing it a lot of the time to get that tail to slice under. Overall I do really like the Party Rexy, but it's taking me some time and effort to find out its secrets and get things dialled in!
If looking at something New and modern I will suggest the Dagger Kayaks Code M or Large and Pyranha kayaks Machno M or L Jackson Zen 3 M just to name a few in that order If you have something in mind I can help you more

This video I was right in the factory spot dead center but I did move it all the back and do some more paddling it paddled better back but wasn't crazy noticeable

I love my party rexy. It was my go-to boat for everything this year in norway. Only if It had more grab handles.

I agree the hip pads could use some work I thought they were OK and I did like that they did the 2 straps around the seat
