Nice `walkthrough` vid Wade, so glad you finally got your hands on an EXO. I hear you on the quality of the back-band adjuster cord & replaced it with much better cord on my T-Rex creeker. I agree the outfitting is on point with some terrific design details. I took my seat out & drilled the rear & put in a loop of thick rope & sleeve of plastic to be able to have a `clip-on` for a dry-bag, but other than that it needed for nothing. I will check my seat though as I haven`t been aware of any of those pointed tabs rubbing the inner hull.....that`s really bad! Looking forward to the `on water` buddy!!
I got my first Rexy in 2019 and learned everything i know about more serious whitewater in it. Its just such a fantastic boat - quite cheap in europe compared to the taxed jacksons... But as you said mine wore through at the seat where the plastic to plastic contact exists and broke eventually. But the plastic is super easy to weld back together (first weld i ever did and still holds strong!) Now i got my hands on the Party Rexy due to color and how beaten my old rexy is. Great video!
Another great review. I am too big for the Rexy but I love the T-Rex. I have had to replace the cord once but my boats get very heavy use. I am looking forward to getting in the new Exo Zion half slice and creek boat.
Love this boat so much, glad you like it as well. I've been using the party version and I definitely prefer it, but it isn't too dissimilar. Despite the lower bow rocker, I still find it incredibly easy to lift the bow over everything, probably due to the high and rapid stern rocker. Hyped for your machete review and on water of the rexy
@@WadeHarrison mine came with the same as yours, but I replaced it with 5mm accessory cord and it seems to work better, but maybe still less good than the stock jackson rope
Looking into getting one of these for a while it’s nice to actually get a full in depth review on one, does it come with the hip shims as well when buying the boat ?
Interesting to see the wear on that cordage. My T rex has the Jackson style rope you mentioned, is it possible a previous owner swapped over to the paracord? I'd be surprised if exo used different rope for different boats
I messaged a guy that has the exact same boat and he said that’s what came with his maybe exo had already listened to me from the future and started changing it 😂
Hey slabb good eye buddy thanks for pointing that out You had me second guessing myself there And FYI it’s plastic coated over steel or aluminum I put a magnet 🧲 it on it and the handles definitely have metal in them…

Good point I used the backband hold down as something to clip onto but agree that was missing and is a very easy thing to add..

I did see some early pictures of the Zion they are calling it Zion Slalom and Zion creeker it looks like and the pictures I seen look good

This one was not new but my guess it will have a bag of hip shims almost every kayak has that at this point

No buddy, can confirm that`s EXO cord, same as on my T-Rex which I replaced with MUCH better!
