First of all this titled made me very excited cuz painting underwater is not at all easy ,and you nailed it, hats off to your efforts and skills . After seeing this painting i am in love with dry brush 🙂!
Eva Volf+ Thank you for teaching us your skills with detailed info. Much appreciated. Some artists only show time lapse videos and no explanations and when you ask them they do not respond or give very little away; in my opinion, they are insecure people. Other artists like yourself, find fulfillment in teaching others, which shows confidence and generosity of spirit. Thank you Eva.
That was the most relaxing art tutorial I have watched, I felt like I was under the water with you whilst you painted it. Looking forward to the large seascape now.
Please Eva ,consider making more of these longer films and also with commentary , so that we can have a better understanding of your techniques. I love watching you create your beautiful seascapes .
Eva, all as I can say is "Wow"! It just makes you feel so good to look at water, especially this painting as it is so unique being underwater. I love it!
Absolutely stunning! You are such an inspiration to me. Thank you for showing us your techniques in painting this, I’ve attempted it on a small canvas for my daughters birthday.
Bellísimas pinturas, ésta en especial me encantó, felicidades por su talento y por compartirlo con todo el mundo, es una fuente de inspiración para todo artista o aficionado como un servidor, gracias y un saludo desde México
Your understanding of the way water moves reflects and bends light is truly marvelous. Thank you so much for this video. Oh, and by the way, my late mother's name is Eva.
Hi Eva, This is a really great way to paint waves and reflections. I've started this on white canvas board. Pthalo turquoise works great for most of the shadow areas. For a more bluer dark tone, I added prussian blue to pthalo turquoise. For a lighter shade, I used neutral gray (Ivory black + titanium white) and titanium white for the ocean floor and other areas. I noticed that adding cadmium lemon to pthalo turquoise just resulted in a bright greener shade, hence I avoided it. However, if I use pthalo blue, it is great to use Naples yellow for the lighter tones. In the end, I would strongly recommend pthalo turquoise or teal blue for the brighter tones. Rest, everyone has their own unique style. Many thanks for this video.
amazing painting you are a fantastic artist, i love seascapes. but watching the time lapse when you were adding the highlights i cant see how you added the shafts of lights coming down through the water. you are doing the surface ripples and it just to the next bit and they are there? could you please tell me how to do it because that just sets the painting off beautifully. Russell
Hi Eva, loved your paints, and this one is my favorite so far. I loved the way you explained and show the process in detail. I just have one question (I started to learn recently). For this paint you said that it takes 3 session for that 3 weeks each for them to dry. In the video is not possible to notice when you do that, so since I'm still learning I not sure what is the best moment to wait until you start the new session. Could you tell me please ( I dont want to ruin the painting and I really want to try). 😊😍
Hallo Eva!!??? your paint is wonderful, can l adding simple idea!!!??what you think about putting Mariene snails and some air bubbles my be it's become more wonderful, thanks my dear.
Oh how wonderful! You are an amazing artist. I have a quick question: when you use your dry brush to blend, it seems like you are spraying it from time to time with a spray bottle you are holding in your other hand. What liquid is in the bottle and why is it necessary to spray the brush? Thanks for sharing your talent with us. 😊
It’s totally up to you, if it’s dry enough in your studio and you used a fast drying medium, like Liquin Original, you probably can return to it in 2 days already
I've watched about 6 or 7 of your videos and I appreciate both your skill and your generosity. Thank you. Do you regularly use gallery wrap canvas? Your blending is very fun to watch as you draw out depth. The water in my area is all rock based and I like to include some fish [mostly salmon or trout], but thanks for showing me techniques to render them better.

Hi this is so beautiful. Can this be achieved with acrylics?
This is one of my favorites! Question...How did you get the soft vertical rays of light from service to sand?
With a wide dry brush drag the paint in the direction of the light while the painted still wet
Hi Eva, loved your paints, and this one is my favorite so far. I loved the way you explained and show the process in detail. I just have one question (I started to learn recently). Wait a week to be sure the first layer dries completely. It should be dry to the touch
Dear Eva,
Its mesmerising....Question: what mixture did you used for the sand patterns
Thank you
really love this, was wondering where you found an easel that can hold a canvas that size?
Beautiful Eva. Do you think you would get same outcome with arcrylic?
Probably not, you might need to add a slow drying medium to achieve the same smoothness of blending
Hallo Eva!!??? your paint is wonderful, can l adding simple idea!!!??what you think about putting Mariene snails and some air bubbles my be it's become more wonderful, thanks my dear.
Abc9 Abc9 Thanks for the suggestion! you should definitely try it! Mine has already sold

Indeed beautiful!!!! Question: Is it necessary to keep the painting for drying for one week? Can we keep it for 2 days instead?
It’s totally up to you, if it’s dry enough in your studio and you used a fast drying medium, like Liquin Original, you probably can return to it in 2 days already
Eva Volf thank you so much!!
Need some small fish " or shells or ?? But its beautiful and a great picture too
legendhasitstudio you could certainly add it
