Your painting of water is perfect, wonderful! Thank you so much for this video. I watch them over and over again. Still trying to be satisfied with my water. You make it so clear.
I know what you mean when you say “know when to stop”. I over did this one past the point of no return, but I like this pic so much I’m going to try to rescue it or start all over. I’m working with acrylics, quick drying doesn’t help. So thanks for a great tutorial Eva.😎🇦🇺🦘
nice work! i have made one round canvas painting before and watching you hold the canvas in place on the easel is bringing back memories of this struggle for me, haha! nice mist breaking off the wave
Thank you for another amazing tutorial. Your techniques have really helped me! I have only been painting a few months but I just love the experience. Your tutorials have really helped me achieve a touch of realism even as a beginner. Thanks again!
rajan rawool I know, that’s the reason I don’t prefer oils. But I heard there’re some mediums improving blending of acrylics, you should google them and give them a try
Have you tried the Open Acrylics from Golden? They are amazing-takes a little practice and blending with the regular heavy body to figure out what works for you, but worth a try! Or you can use the Open as is to mimic oil.
rajan rawool the Golden Open Acrylics stay wet for over 24 hrs(depending how much paint you layer). So, when you are working on your painting you have a lot more time to blend-
I have studied your wok for a long time now ! Question I love painting the Ocean . I can paint any subject but not really interested in anything to paint but the Ocean my friends always ask can you paint anything else, do you get that? Thanks Al
Yes, Al, all the time. I painted other subjects, horses, wildlife, florals. Now working with commissions I often paint boats, piers, palm trees, people on the beach, shells and everything beach related
Thanks for the video. If you are a woman Aivazovsky, with beautiful tassels create a masterpiece of seas and oceans, and a wave of The сбегающая BREG is broken on the rocks with noise by creating color paintings.
Beautiful (as are all your other paintings). I have one question, if I may. just switched from Galkyd medium to Liquin (to see whether I like that better) and I have a hard time to adjust. I see you "dipping" your brush in a small container. Is that pure Liquin? I hope you do not mind asking..... trying to learn from the experts !!
@@EvaVolf Thanks for the quick response. As a beginner, I wanted to see how different both mediums behaved. I used Galkyd in combination with Gamsol to thin it a little and wondered whether Liquin would give me the same "control" (better/worse). Going to experiment a little more with both and will eventually stick to the one I like best (or perhaps not.......)
LuckyDutchFishing I recently tried Neo Megilp by Gamblin, it’s a good one, too. Increases transparency and flow, gives colors a satin gloss, dries at a moderate rate and remains workable for hours.
Sublime !!!
Merci de nous en faire profiter.
Glad to see someone else loves the ocean ! Great work Al
Al Johnson water is the source of life
I get hammered all the time about painting the Ocean and not barns ,donkeys ect..... I love the colors and action of the seas. Thanks Al

Eva, can you please show how to paint clouds - even using your fingers? I tend to do that too. Thanks.

Acrylic does dry quickly so couldnt blend

LuckyDutchFishing yes, it’s pure Liquin, I also use Galkyd for this purpose and it’s absolutely fine, why did you switch? Both work great
