How To Drive A Manual Transmission Car

I'm NOT batman!
Standard Transmission or a Manual transmission. Either way it requires the driver to manually move a mechanism to select and/or change the gear ratio of a transmission in a vehicle. A long time ago all cars and trucks base models were a manual transmission. This is were the term "Standard Transmission" came from. You actually paid extra for an transmission that shifted for you or automatically.
Most of these shifters are on the floor but some are on the steering column and others are on the dash, depends on the setup in the car.
Pay Close attention the the vehicle you are going to be driving/practicing with. There are multiple different shift patterns, infinite different gear ratios, engine torque outputs and vehicle weights. Each manual vehicle operates and rides a little differently because of these factors. You have to learn the specific transfer of clutch and accelerator for each vehicle. As you get better it will get easier to learn for different vehicles.
Pay attention to engine RPM (noise) and weight shift of the vehicle to find the patterns of when to shift.
In general when you push the clutch in (disengage from engine) to shift a gear your right foot is removed from the accelerator.
