I will NEVER hate this movie. Afterlife was a good tearjerker at the end, seeing Harold Ramis' ghost coming back to help. You can't beat the Orginal.

I don't know why people thought this was a bad movie. I still think it's a good movie. It made me laugh, had a cool villain and soundtrack was great as well. It definitely did have some problems here and there and some things could have easily been fixed, but overall, it's a satisfying sequel. It's still worlds above the 2016 ghostbusters.
It could have been so much better, i would have liked it if the movie started out with the court scene and didn’t mess around with the beginning bs

Pretty much everybody loves them, which actually makes them rated actors, not underrated.

People say it's not as good as the first, and maybe it has some issues, but sorry, lady liberty walking through the city as a symbol of hope used to dismiss all the negative evils and crash the dome so the Ghostbusters could save the day is one of my favourite moments in movie history

Being a kid of the late 90s, I didn’t get to appreciate this when it came out, but thankfully I am the youngest in a family of movie lovers so I was raised on classics.
My dad said around the time I was watching this in 02 or 03, people liked it way more since 9/11 had recently occurred, gave a new perspective and showed much needed community

The subway tunnel scene with the scary voice that called Winston's name & the dead heads on spikes scared the snot out of me when I first saw this movie back in the day when it first came out & I was only 8 years old at the time. The ghost train in that same scene on the other hand was cool because I've liked trains ever since I was little.

The scene of the Statue of Liberty appearing is just brilliant. I can remember when this film was released in the UK in winter 1989. Simultaneously the long awaited Back to the Future II came out. 1989 was a big year for films. 🎞 🎥

@@NH1973 Yeah it was huge & so were my posters on the walls of my little box room in London. Batman, Rambo III, Coming to America, Ghostbusters II. This sequel is very good. It was as if the film releases of 1989 encapsulated all that was the 1980s in a 1 year cycle. I would get free posters from the local newsagents that had a video rental business. 😊

As a kid in the 5th grade at my elementary school in Indiana i will never forget the first time a had to date one of my assignments with the year "1990" I just sat there and stared at if for a moment and my heart was filled with sadness because it meant the 1980s were over....then and there I knew that something wonderful had come to an end and that the world would never be the same or as good as it had been in the past....how right I was! The 1990s were okay....but they were never as fun or as special as the 1980s...... Rip 1980s you are truly missed.

I really liked this movie. Vigo is probably the one villain in movie history whom I genuinely felt was scary.
Vigo had such potential, but they kept him confined to the museum and baby kidnapping. It's really only disappointing aspect of the movie for me.
Ikr, I used to think he made Shredder from TMNT look like some guy with a chip on his shoulder.
The villain was originally supposed to be Vlad the Implaler, a.k.a. Dracula.

Yeah to be fair he did contribute and hitting the other side couldn't hurt even if it was miniscule there's no telling that could have been their one shot at getting out if they weren't able to get up. One proton pack on it's own is still nuclear and VERY powerful.
Pretty sure he impressed her earlier in the movie at Venkman's apartment haha
The "uh-oh" from Spengler @2:35 always gets me. Classic and funny from the scientist of the group

Yeah I always found the "uh oh" scary and foreboding because when Spengler says "uh oh" you knew that something seriously bad was going to happen.

Re-watching 1 and 2, I've learned my appreciation for over powered villains started with these movies. Something like Gozer or Vigo being nearly un-phased by the proton packs and requiring a special method of fighting is a super fun trope. Props to them making Vigo look as barbaric as his background makes him out to be, Actor has some god tier expressions.
Vigo's growling also helped to make him look like the monster he was said to be.
The actor who played Vigo was a monster off-camera too

2 had a lot of scary and funny memorable scenes than 1. The first movie only had terror dogs, possessed Lana and scary Gozer for one minute. And all of this happens only last 30 minutes of the movie. But second one had a proper story build-up.

I like how Louis kinda helps out and feels that he contributed. I mean, he MAY actually have helped, who knows?
He's a geeky yet genuine character that comes off as clumsy but has a good, helpful heart.
He helped. Think about it. His presence outside, blasting at the slime, gave the people hope. That raised their spirits even more, which weakened the slime even more.

The Ghostbusters I love the most. Proton streams are much more realistic than in the first installment in 1984, which was definitely not a minor detail for a kid spending his afternoons building proton packs! Can't wait to see the long-needed, third Ghostbusters in a few weeks

I just wish they had the streams wrap around him rather than just disappear. It would make the final moment make all the more sense, the streams holding his floating head in place while Winston drowns him in good slime
I mean, given that the Ghostbusters game stated the slime was infact created by Gozer and thus therefore Vigo was using the powers of a god it's no wonder he could resist it

I'm from Canada but I too saw it got caught up in the spirit of patriotism and saw it as the forces of freedom striking a mighty blow against the tyranny that Vigo represented.

The whole "reborn" thing he told Janoz was a lie. He didn't want to possess a baby/child like in The Omen, Rosemarys Baby or The Exorcist, he wanted the body and soul OF a baby to use as a conduit to merge with, and in doing so it would damn the child's soul to hell.

The subtle humor of Ghostbusters is always so great. When Ray gets possessed and everyone has the dumbfounded WTF looks on their faces, and Peter is just like "Now !" that part always makes me 😂

I had always thought that Oscar was the result of Dana and Louis doing it while they were possessed by Zuul and Vincent in the first movie.
If I remember correctly, that would make him just over 4 years old As the start of the film states it's 5 years later.
No, she had been in a relationship since then. I don't recall if she was married or not. But the "sperm donor" took off after learning Dana was pregnant.

I always loved how the crowd goes nuts when they realise Libby is gonna smash a hole in the slime-shell with her torch.
This movie was such a part of my childhood and still absolutely love everything about it today as an adult, both movies 1 @ 2.

Its somewhat amusing they dubbed Vigo's voice - when you hear his lines spoken with the actor's normal voice.......well, you can see why they dubbed it :D

I loved Venkman's trolling of Vigo at the end. That was great!

Ghostbusters 2 is still a great movie.
I love the villain in the second ghostbusters film. It was done very well with a good story.
This sequel always got a lot of flak from some, but I remembers seeing in the theater when it came out and everyone laughed and seemed to have a good time. Honestly, I like the movie and there's some scenes that are pretty good.
See my gf never seen these movies and I was telling her the second one is alot better than people give credit for lol

I can’t wait for “Ghostbusers: Afterlife” because it’s going to be a continuation of the first two films after the 2016 reboot flopped. Also, “Afterlife” is the first Ghostbusters movie not to be set in New York City, but instead in a small town in Oklahoma.
I hear it has not much humor. It’ll probably be disappointing.
That's not really a good thing, NY was one of the main characters of the film. Ghostbusters without NY is like Batman without Gotham. But it seems no one can afford to film there anymore, such a shame.

Ghostbusters II made me a fan. My late Dad (who passed just as the 2009 video game came out) bought me the storybook adaptation with audio tape at age one lol I was a little too young to go see it at a theater. As of this week I can finally say to my own yet to exist kids: "I saw Ghostbusters III on the day of release!" lol

I'd like to see a modern take of Vigo in future GB projects. He scared the shit out of me when I was younger. I think he was iconic in his own way.
Maybe that Vigo had an apprentice. The actor is now 2 old 2 play him if he's still alive.

I don't care what people say, I enjoy GB2 as much as I enjoy GB1. I love how Venkman recognizes that Vigo draws his power from the mood slime and so he reenacts the scene of Ray yelling at the tub of mood slime in the firehouse from earlier in the film.
