One thing no one is talking about I absolutely love: When the Ghostbusters start to duck under the table, there are folks in the crowd behind them who actually DO THE SAME THING. There's actually a lady cop (I think) that has her eyes on the evidence table and just starts to go down to the floor like they are like "Ohhh shits about to go down". Like despite how things were going in the court, there were definitely people there who remembered what happened with the first Gozer incident and knew to take cover when the Ghostbusters did!

People always love the original, but to me I think this is the most underrated sequel of all time. It had a deeper message about negative emotions and how they reflect on the living and the dead, even in the personification of slime. The sequel has an intimidating villain, and really shows that Venkman can be a better father figure to a little Oscar. Normally I hate the word "underrated" as the most over-used word in TH-cam comments. It's almost always wrong and undefined as to who's putting it down. But when the movie came out so many critics and fans dissed the movie, saying there was nothing new, it was just trying to repeat the original. Hey, nobody knew what made _Ghostbusters_ a mega-success, so they did their best to come up with a sequel, which came after a successful animated TV show! It gave us an adventure, some new music and lots of laughs. And this was 20 years before "nostalgia" was a thing to sell tickets to a franchise-movie.

Never underestimate the human ability to rationalize something. People like Walter Peck likely had a hand in getting people to forget. Winston did say at the beginning that the Ghostbusters were sued heavily because of the damages done to that high rise. After a time, people would start thinking that they didn't see what they saw and placed it all as a part of the imagination or as a hallucination, like Peck was accusing the Ghostbusters of doing.

Since then, I've learned a lot about what goes into movies, cinematography, story, pacing, plot, timing, and more.
Finally rewatched this last week decades later and realized that these movies are way up there to as close to a perfect movie you can get.
It's absolutely absurd how well it's done, and should be taught in film schools.

Louis Tully is a low-key powerhouse. He had every chance to run for the nearest open door when the ghosts popped up, but he didn't. He stood by his friends and even hung back in case he was needed. When Oscar was found out on the ledge, he immediately ordered Janine to call 911 and when he was taken, he knew he had to find the Ghostbusters. And, of course, at the end, he suited up to put the work in. If he hadn't been there, Vigo the Carpathian probably would've won.

Rick moranis is the most underrated actor along with Sigourney Weaver. Every line out of Bill Murray's mouth is gold . In every movie he's done .it would take days to pick a favorite but in the original movie, Rick Moranis line Ok, who brought the dog will always be one of my favorite lines in movie history. Along with Bill Murray chaos, cats and dogs living together. Sigourney Weaver has it all. Beautiful, makes my teeth sweat. And there's not a word in the english language that can describe her acting talent. Writing, the best,. Cast , the best. Bill Murray ad libbing his lines in every movie he does , gold .dan ackroyd , I would need 8 hours just to start. The most thorough acting genius ever. Thorough is an understatement. Watching all of them from 2nd city to SNL to movies . The 70's and 80's was the best time on history to grow up. RIP Harold Ramis. Genius. And kind, down to earth human being. I would start with Caddy shack, and Ghost busters and go til I was so dehydrated I couldn't talk.

6:27 grown men struggling with these proton packs. Later, Lewis confirms what we already knew very well, even from the first movie: "Gosh, this equipment's heavy!" and yet in Afterlife, a skinny 12 year old girl puts one on and is good to go. like it's a toy. and apparently has no problem operating it from the get-go. just one of the many little details in that movie that breaks my immersion.
