Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), (Egon Spengler) Harold Ramis, and Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) take up their proton packs once more to battle the forces of evil in Manhattan! After waging a war on slime that cost New York City millions, the Ghostbusters find themselves out of business until an ancient tyrant, preparing a return to the Earthly domain through his portrait at the Manhattan Museum of Modern Art, sets his sights on Dana Barrett's baby as the new home for his wicked soul! With the help of the Museum's possessed curator, he plans to turn New York into a really scary place to live! Now only the Ghostbusters can save New York City, by turning paranormal pest control into an art form!

It was more that people didn't like that the movie was targeted more towards children than it was to fans of the first movie. All because of the real ghostbusters cartoon. The jokes were toned down from the adult humor the first movie had.

It was because there wasnt as much screen time or as much as a back story as Gozer in Ghostbusters. He could have been a more intimidating and terrifying villain if he had more story and screen time like was originally planned for Ghostbusters 2.

My GF was born in Romania (transylvania) but grew up in Germany. We move together. Since I'm a huge Ghostbusters Fan and she's transylvanian, Vigo's framed Poster will be on our livingroom wall.
And if any unknowing person asks who this is we say: "Thats her Ancestor. He lived from 1505 to 1610. Vigo the Cruel. Vigo the unholy. Vigo the Scourge of Carpathia. A genocidal maniac."
Let's see who laughs about it. 😂

I think Dana has some sort of curse on her. First movie becomes a dog, second her baby is the chosen one for a daemon to live again... I always noticed how when vego was holding the baby just before he was weakening it was like the baby was calling for the positive energy to weaken him. Wonder if that was coincidence or they taught the baby to wave his arms like that.

    • @mangrove

In a deleted scene, Egon theorized that Dana was predisposed to being affected by the paranormal. Plus, Sigourney Weaver declined to do the video game, and Dana was replaced with a new character, who turned out to be a distant relative of Ivo Shandor; there's speculation that Dana was affected by paranormal activity because of that connection to Shandor.

You can't teach a baby Oscar's age to do anything, really. They'll react happily to things they like, and negatively to things they don't. And babies like to wave their arms when they're being held. You try to teach them new things, and they're learning... (it's frankly amazing how fast they learn) but they're too young to really be taught to do anything on cue.
(Speaking as a father of a kid who is currently just a bit younger than Oscar.)
